7th Grade Purple and Gold

The first week back will be a Purple week. The second week, starting 9 January, will be a Gold week. This will be followed by a Purple week, then Gold, then Purple and so on.

On a Purple week 7th Grade will follow their schedule as normal. On a Gold week 7th Grade will attend their core classes in re-verse order. That means on a Gold week students will go to homeroom and enrich-ment as normal. Then they will go to their Core 4 class during first block, Core 3 dur-ing second, related arts as normal before finishing the day with their Core 2 then Core 1. Students will follow this schedule each day during a Gold week. 7th Grade is very excited about this new schedule.

Beta Club News

Attention Beta Club members! Please remember to get your 10 hours of community service completed before 10 January. Winter Break will allow you plenty of opportunities at local churches or nursing homes to get anymore hours that you may need.

All Betas attending the conference-please be sure to get your payments in. We are paying our bills for the trip and need all conference goers to pay their expenses. Students should receive a final cost of the trip this week.

Betas, please be aware that we will have to meet every afternoon when we return in January as we make last minute prepara-tions for the convention. 11 January is not far away and we want to be as prepared as we can! At our first meeting on 3 January we will review our convention rules, dress code, and the itinerary for the trip.

Nursing Notations

Illness Reminder:

We need your help to reduce the spread of

germs! By working together, taking precau-

tions, we can help to minimize the impact of

any illness that can be spread to others.

Please be reminded of the following:

Wash hands often with soap and water

for 20 seconds;

Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth

with unwashed hands;

Avoid kissing, hugging, and sharing cups or eating utensils with people who are sick;

Disinfect frequently touched surfaces, such as toys and doorknobs, especially if someone is sick;

Stay home when feeling sick, and ob-tain consultation from your health care provider.

Keep sick children at home for at least 24 hours after they no longer have vomit-ing or diarrhea

Ill children should stay home until 24 hours after they are fever free without the use of fever-reducing medicines.

Cover your cough/sneeze. It is best to cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow, not your hands. If you cough/sneeze in your hands or in a tissue, make sure you wash your hands after-wards.

These everyday steps are a good way to reduce your chances of getting the flu. However, a yearly flu vaccine is the best protection against flu illness.
