~~Kiwanis Club~~

Kiwanis donates to Girl Scout Glow ’N Walk of Hope

Recently, the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Kiwanis donated $600 to the Glow ’N

Walk of Hope at Flivver Field. The donation will go directly to the troops project

of beautifying Kingsford Middle School with positive uplifting quotes and wall

art. They also have hopes of giving to other schools and they can purchase

more if needed.

Kiwanis' motto is "Serving the Children of the World." We are proud to be a small

part of it in Iron Mountain-Kingsford area.

If you would like to learn more about Kiwanis, we invite you to a service project

or social event. Like our Facebook Page, Kiwanis of Iron Mountain-Kingsford and

we will keep you updated with our upcoming projects.

Kiwanis meets twice a month at Pine Grove Country Club at noon. To be

added as a guest or to learn more about Kiwanis, call Trisha Peterson at

906-774-5731. We pre-order our meals for our noon meeting. We no longer have night meeting members,

they are now our activities committee. Kiwanis members now only pay for meals that they reserve for the

noon meeting. It is possible to attend the noon meetings and not reserve a lunch.

River Valley Bank and IncredibleBank to host open house celebration

and charitable event on Thursday, October 24th.

Wausau, WI: September 19, 2019 – River Valley Bank, soon to be officially known as IncredibleBank,

will be hosting an open house celebration and charitable giving event at their Iron Mountain

location on Thursday, October 24th. The bank will be celebrating a commitment to community,

their incredible customers, a new name, and being recognized as America’s Most Innovative

Bank. People are invited to attend the open house and choose a favorite charity that will receive

a $1,000 donation from the bank.

At the bank’s location at 101 West B Street, the festivities will begin at 4:30pm with a ribbon cutting,

appetizers, beer, wine and more.

Attendees will receive a Golden Coin that they will use to vote for their favorite charity. The charity

that accumulates the most coins prior to 6:30pm will win $1,000 from IncredibleBank. The charities

are:

Almost Home Animal Shelter

Courage Incorporated

Dickinson County 4-H

Cancer Closet

Caring House

The winning charity will be selected at

6:30pm.

There are currently 5 positions available.

Each term is 3 years (January 2020-December 2022).

Nomination Deadline is Monday, November 4, 2019:

Qualities/Requirements:

Strong ethics, community involvement and belief in the purpose of the

Chamber.

Holds a management level position within his/her business or organization that

is currently a member of the Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce.

Duties Include:

Attend Monthly Board Meetings (3rd Thursday of the month at 7:30 a.m. for

approximately 1 hour)

Take an active role in discussing and developing all new policies and

procedures for all chamber matters, including the chamber's annual

operating budget and spending plans.

Review and evaluate the major programs designed to serve the membership

and committees.

Guidelines:

You may nominate yourself or someone else for the board.

of Commerce. This information will be incorporated into a short biographical

sketch about each candidate, all of which will appear on the official ballot,

which will be available the first week of November.
