FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid - The 2021-2022 FAFSA opened on Oct. 1st. Students and families will need to use 2019 income tax information to complete the FAFSA. The FAFSA is not only for the "financially needy." I encourage all families to complete the

FAFSA as a complete FAFSA may open the student up to scholarship opportunities. Additionally, I suggest that all students check off that they are interested in the work-study program. This does not require you to work, but it does give the opportunity to be reviewed for on campus jobs. Families can always decline loans or any other offers that they do not want.

Has decided to extend its CARE Summer Bridge Program application deadline to March 1. The university will be accepting February ACT and March SAT test scores for CARE review as part of the rolling admissions review process, which starts in late March. Students should apply at care.fsu.edu/apply. If you have already submitted an FSU application and now want to apply to CARE, contact the admissions office. CARE provides preparations, orientation, and academic support for students who are first in their family to attend college and may face unique challenges in college because of educational or economic circumstances.

This Saturday, January 23rd, students have an opportunity to practice the SAT and receive a 30-minute score report review with a professional tutor. The cost is $10.00, and all proceeds go to SBHS’s PTSO. Register by this Thursday to receive materials in time. More information is on our website under the headline "SAT/ACT Practice Opportunity". https://www.revolutionprep.com/partners/4582
