News From Mr Bond Dear Parents and Caregivers
As the term comes to an end I wish to thank all the staff for the hard work planning, teaching and
assessing the students at Trinity and setting them up for every success. There has been great learning
in every classroom and many opportunities for the children to encounter out of the classroom as well.
I also wish to thank you the parents for your support and generosity this term.
The ‘Trinity Family Games Night’ was a huge success. It was an extremely fun night with lots of games
and prizes. I wish to thank the group of parents from the Mamre Team who organised sponsors,
donations and prizes and made it a great night. Just over $3000 was raised on the night. Thank you
everyone involved and the generosity of the Trinity community. I thank the Mamre Team for the time
and dedication that they offer the Trinity community to ensure that our children and families can
experience such wonderful opportunities.
I wish to thank Ms. Janet Colusso for her short time at Trinity as Acting Assistant Principal. She has
been a tremendous support for me while I have been Acting Principal. The staff and children who have
worked with her have been very appreciative of her dedication to learning and the support they
received. We wish Ms. Colusso every success for the remainder of the year as she returns to her role
as Instructional Leader at St. Aidan’s Rooty Hill.
We look forward to Mrs Hey’s return next term. She is recovery well from her surgery and excited to be
coming back. She is missing Trinity very much.
I would like to wish all the families a very happy and safe holiday break and see you all refreshed and
energized for a busy Term 4.

Sacred Space An Amazing Fact: Did you know that the longest list of questions found in the Bible is made up of questions asked by God? In Job, Chapters 38 and 30, God poses query after query to His servant Job, who has daily begged for answers to some tough, heart-wrenching questions of his own. Instead of providing Job with simple answers, God delivers a string of thought-provoking riddles. They start with words like, “Who?, Where?, When?, Have you?, Can you? and Do you know?.” He describes all the miracles of the animal kingdom and He talks about the weather and the Solar System and other mysteries of nature. God asks questions that are deep and penetrating because He wants us to think. The famous philosopher, Socrates, who lived about 400BC, used the very same teaching method. Rather than merely giving his pupils the answer to a particular problem, Socrates would ask them questions that forced them to analyse the situation and find the answers for themselves, which in turn helped them learn each subject more thoroughly. The first question in the Bible that God asks is, “Where are you?” If you believe that God knew where Adam was, then you must pause to consider why God asked that question. God wanted Adam to think: “What has sin done to me? Why did I leave God and why am I running away from Him?” It is probably no accident that God’s first question to man in the Old Testament is, “Where are you?”, while the first question the wise men asked in the New Testament is “Where is he?”. (Matthew 2:2) Humans have been separated from God by sin and there is a massive search underway. God is looking for us and we are looking for Him. Shalom, Olga
From the Bishop Bishop Vincent Long OFM Conv, Bishop of Parramatta, has written a Pastoral Letter to Catholics in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains about the national debate on same-sex civil marriage and the upcoming postal survey. What’s happening at Trinity
Maker Space The Makerspace has been very busy over the past term. In Week 5 the students made a pulley using recycled
materials. These turned out great!
The Sphero balls were very popular! Students used the Sphero app on the ipad to code and control the actions of their Sphero!
The students had lots of fun coding their BlueBots to go through mazes created with popsticks..
Our parent information session was also very popular. Students enjoyed showing their parents what Makerspace is all about!
Students had a lot of fun creating pom poms and transforming them into little furry friends.
