received from rand water board with advice and technical input in the removal of all reeds

and other water plants. Metsimaholo local municipality also provided support and equipment

Eric Louw circle fountain and garden.

As this is the main entrance to town and a very familiar beacon of Sasolburg, we made a

decision to have the fountain repaired. The fountain and garden was neglected for a very

long period of time. A new water pump and electrical switch gear was installed at an

estimated cost of R 18 000. 00. This was all done with financial contributions from resident.

Cleaning of public areas and green belts.

This is done in collaboration with the residents and the local municipality. The support and

interest is constantly growing and the number of residents that participate grow with every

initiative. A clean-up action is planned for the 3rd September, with seven starting points

identified in Sasolburg/Vaalpark. Metsimaholo cleansing services provide vehicles and

manpower to remove all collected refuse.

Partnership Projects – Directly involved

Pothole Project

Business venture

Rejuvenation will from now on render a pothole repair service which will benefit the current

worker’s income and also contribute to the long term sustainability of the project. This

venture will not interfere with the current project and will work as follows:

Street pot hole cost R 1500.00 per street

Driveway Screeds R 120.00 per sq. meter

Time: Friday from 14:00 – Sundays

So far the extra income received was R 9800.00. William Stow (road in front of Waterplan)

were repaired to gain goodwill from businesses in order to promote the project and for

donation purposes. We are expecting a donation from all the business in that street of R

10 000.00

There are also many schools wanting to tar their parking areas and covering broken paving,

North school has already committed to a big project.

Other Feedback

A three-ton truck was bought due to the heavy load of stone and crushers that needs to be

transported

A Bomac, Cutter as well as another mixer were bought. The equipment as well as the bigger

team of 7 people is making a huge impact and the number of streets covered over the last

three months is very encouraging.

The branding is now required and it is the sponsor’s choice how they want to bran d the

projects. It could be done either in the form of branding the Truck, banners/bowheads or

even Sasol overalls

Additional Mixer Cutter for bigger areas

CCTV Cameras project The project is progressing fast. The link between Sasolburg and Zamdela is finally finalised and had to be moved due to interference problems. The Monitoring station with connections to Zamdela Police station is in progress now. As soon as that is finished the cameras will be fixed to the poles and the network would then run as one. As part of the device provider’s work, Wi-Fi hot spots will be installed in strategic spots in Zamdela to give the community a free cheap internet access system through vouchers. This will also create jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities.
