If you have not yet done so, all insurance and registration forms are due to Patrick or Dave ([email protected]) by the time you plan on being in the cove. Also, for all renters, rental agreements and balances are due by that time as well. Additionally, if you have not yet contacted the marina office regarding a slip rental, we would suggest doing so soon as the marina is currently at 94% capacity, which is exactly where we ended the season last year. Typically, we see a surge for smaller slips around Memorial Day so time is running out. The board would also like to remind all boaters that no one is permitted to affix anything to the docks; contact Patrick and he will take care of it. Also, as most of you are aware, parking continues to be an issue so if you could make an effort to carpool and not have multiple cars visiting one boat, everyone’s season will be that much better. As always, we anticipate this to be a great season for all and the association will do its best in providing the same level of experience that has become the norm along with an exciting social calendar (details found on the last page of this newsletter) 2017 Board Members Dave Brickley – Commodore David Crowle – R. Start of the Season

After a teasingly mild winter, the start of the 2017

Boating Season has finally arrived. With the

completion of the waler project in the fall, some

minor updates/repairs throughout the off-season, and

an impressive influx of new renters/owners, the

Caswell Cove Marina Board is pleased to announce the

start of the season as Saturday, April 15th.

If you have not yet done so, all insurance and

registration forms are due to Patrick or Dave

([email protected]) by the time you plan

on being in the cove. Also, for all renters, rental

agreements and balances are due by that time as

well.

Additionally, if you have not yet contacted the

marina office regarding a slip rental, we would

suggest doing so soon as the marina is currently at

94% capacity, which is exactly where we ended the

season last year. Typically, we see a surge for

smaller slips around Memorial Day so time is running

out.

The board would also like to remind all boaters that

no one is permitted to affix anything to the docks;

contact Patrick and he will take care of it. Also,

as most of you are aware, parking continues to be an

issue so if you could make an effort to carpool and

Slips for Sale

As many of you are aware, availability of 40-

foot slips is becoming difficult, and 30-foot

slips have been on a steady rise.

This season especially, rentals will be

limited across all slip sizes. If you have

any plans to upgrade or do not want to deal

with the question as to whether or not you

will have a slip year to year, this may be a

good opportunity to buy and lock yourself

into your own slip.

Currently, we have a number of 30-foot slips

(A-, B-, and C-Dock slips available in the

$6,000.00 range). If you have interest in any

of these slip locations, do not hesitate to

contact the office so we can get you in touch

with the current slip owners.

Commissioning Party

We have narrowed down a date for the

2017 Commissioning Party. The Board has

tentatively settled on Saturday, June 10.

We will be sending out additional details as

we approach the date of the party!

We are trying to set up United States Coast

Guard Auxiliary Safety Inspections for the

day of the party as well, so let us know if

you would be interested in a safety

inspection as soon as possible.

As always, the board would appreciate

any volunteered help in planning and

coordinating this event. If you would like to

assist, please contact the office and we will

put you in touch with everyone else

interested.

2017 Caswell Cove Marina Rendezvous

After our successful Rendezvous this past August, we have started to plan one for this summer as well. After reviewing many possible locations, it has been agreed that we will entrust Brewer’s Essex Island Marina with hosting us Friday,

August 11th to Sunday, August 13th.

We have secured slips in one specific area at Essex Island Marina in order to ensure we are all grouped together. In addition, due to our party size we have obtained a discounted rate. Please note that reservations must be made before

March 1st for guaranteed dockage with the group. Anyone registering after March 1st will not get the discount and could be placed anywhere in the marina.

Reservations for the Island can be made using Dockwa, either through a phone app or online at www.dockwa.com, or by calling Brewer Essex Island directly. We were able to secure an incredible group discount of $0.50/ft per night – hence the reason for the early reservation deadline – and you will see the discount applied through Dockwa before confirmation. The

standard deposit for an event such as this is one night’s stay. When you book through Dockwa, it is of the upmost importance that under Special Requests you include “Caswell Cove Marina”, this will ensure everyone gets grouped

together and has the discount applied to their reservation. Also, if you are a Brewer Preferred Member, under Promo Code enter BREWERMEMBER. This will hold payment until check in when they can verify your gold or green card status.
