Students and staff explored what makes excellent learning and how to identity it in the classroom. Groups will be observing lessons at teachers’ invitation as a practise run in the next few weeks. Our Learning & Teaching student leaders will then collate evidence of the brilliant learning at BGTC and identify how we can make further developments. KS3 Reading Journals What’s the story? It’s really great to see so many enriching projects going on at BGTC that supports literacy, reading, writing and storytelling. For example, every student in Year 7, 8 and 9 should now have a reading journal. In the coming weeks we will showcase some snippets from their journals, see what books are proving popular and what you have to say about them. If storytelling rather than story reading is more your thing, then why not check out the Ministry of Stories. It’s a new charity, just up the road, designed to support your creative writing. So, whether it’s stories, poems or even lyrics, head down to a workshop any Thursday after school or Saturday morning. ministryofstories.org

The competitions continue...(Mr.) Pedley’s Puzzle PageWe’re back with yet another great brainteaser. In fact, we’re back with two! This week is all about triangles and Mr. Pedley wants to know...

We reveal who’s who in the staff baby photo competitionWho “nose”? We “nose”!

Find the photos at www.bgtc.org.uk/students

Thank you to everyone that took part in the competition and helped raise awareness of such a great charity. So, the answers... head over to the student page of the school websi te now to see the updated slideshow including super-cool junior Richards! Look at that collar!

We have raised a fantastic £250 already and hope to make even more through Sports Relief.

A huge thank you to our staff for donating their photos. Not forgetting our “ladies in red” support staff (if you’re reading a photocopy you’ll have to imagine their red out"ts!) who did their bit to make it a colourful day all round.

As always, post your answers in a Voice Box or return them to Mr. Pedley. Prizes are up for grabs and we will announce the winners next week.

1) Can you place the numbers 1-9 in the circles so that each side of the triangle adds up to 17?

2) How many triangles are there in this image?
