INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Software Engineer at AT&T June 2006 to present

Labworks group, August 2016 to present

Created automated bots to run on the Facebook Messaging platform to handle queries from corporate customers. Added code using Heroku to handle emoticons. Worked in XCode, Android Studio, JSON extensions, Github and REST-like endpoints with API.AI.

Sales Express group, September 2015 to August 2016

Added features and fixed defects on the mobile app Sales Express during Agile sprints. Made custom presentation links, added watermarks, wrote documentation, etc. This group taught me many new things, including IntelliJ, Git, Maven and Spring Framework.

CSI OCX group from April 2015 to September 2015

Human Resources / Amplify group from March 2014 to March 2015

Investigated defects for OCX IM. Wrote an installation document that described how to fix errors. Also, updated configuration files for the CSI Federated group using SVN, Spring Tool Suite, TIBCO Business Studio and Contivo.

Developed two JSP applications for Human Resources, one to distribute individualized benefits to employees & the second for non-managers to access AT&T’s custom training. Also created many workflows in the Boomi platform (which is a graphical programming interface) from scratch to consolidate top secret data (incl. compensation & bonuses) for HR from 12 different databases into two (Amplify and SuccessFactors).

PAL IPSA group from July 2013 to February 2014

PULSE Group from August 2012 to July 2013

Developed features for the Provisioning Automation Layer (PAL), which is an AT&T-created GUI used to configure routers and other Customer Premises Equipment. PAL includes more than 80 projects written in Java, Javascript, XML, DHTMLX and XQuery. Wrote documentation for future developers, including a taxonomy of errors and fixes.

Used IBM Mashup Center to create custom dashboards for officers of AT&T to view critical data in graphical form. Took data from databases (using JDBC and XSLT) to transform the data into feeds and mashups, resulting in 3-D bar fusion charts, pie charts, custom graphics and exportable tables with Javascript, CSS, XML, JSON, cookies and ATOM. Examples of data included how many projects in the entire IT Division were over budget or behind deadlines, and how many APIs were being created and used, and how many ideas from our foundries were being commercialized.

ISAAC Group from August 2011 to August 2012

In the ISAAC group, I wrote code that checked various systems and returned data for use by the IVR system. I wrote Models and Overlays (using Motive Corporation software), as well as created Workflows to output the results. Also have experience with Portal Server 6.1.5.

PMDSS Group from December 2010 to August 2011

PMDSS (Performance Management Decision Support Services) group is part of PMOSS, which monitors the entire AT&T network. I wrote VBA to transform network data into dynamic Excel tables and charts on the internal web.

Integrated Voice Response (IVR) Group from June 2008 to November 2010

Was responsible for maintaining two applications: Enterprise Test Suite (ETS) and Http Automated Testing Tool (HATT). These are tools written in J2EE, JSP and the Spring Framework. Their responsibility is to test CRIVR and other applications (such as SEA, EACR, SAVL, etc.) in an automated fashion. CRIVR is in heavy use by millions of AT&T consumers. I used Eclipse and ran these apps using Websphere servers. I also made heavy use of Voice XML (VXML), XML and CVS.

DSL Resource Center from June 2006 to June 2008

Used IBM’s Rational Software Architect (RAD) and WSAD to complete several projects on the DSL Resource Center project, which was written in Java and JSPs and used session beans. This project was our interface with third-party DSL providers, so they could run usage reports, lists of customers who have moved from one company to another, line capacity reports, new regulations, etc. This project is accessed by roughly 80,000 users.

New United Motor Manufacturing July 2005 to January 2006

Web Developer and Database designer for several custom development projects. The tools I use included C# .NET, ADO, Visual Studio, ASP, SQL server and JavaScript. Projects were diverse, ranging from an HR application which tracks employee whereabouts to a Knowledge Base for IT.

Lawrence Technologies , a computer repair company May 2003 to September 2005

Database Admin & Software specialist. Was the tech everyone turned to for software issues. Others focused on hardware problems, though I was proficient there too. Designed database of customers, equipment & appointments for company network. Variety of house calls to businesses & homes. Did fast assessments, repairs, upgrades.

Wells Fargo Private Client Services Server TechOps September 1997 to January 2003

System Administrator and Workflow Coordinator. On call 24 hours/7 days a week for 150 Windows NT, 2000, SQL, Novell and Unix servers across the western US. Troubleshot problems both from headquarters and onsite. Assigned work orders among our server team of seven System Administrators. Was the public face of our group. Reduced backlog from 400 to 90. If the Sysadmin I assigned didn't meet deadline, I did the work myself. Third-level (the last stop) for support of 400 applications, researching obscure solutions to problems. Pushed applications via Systems Management Server. Installed servers. Restored files from backup DATs. Filled in on the Level 2 Helpdesk when needed. Created users and permissions for personal & group shares and print queues.
