deck restaurant. Crisp linen tablecloths, attentive

Day One ~ Embark in AndernachTravel out today, by coach or by air, to

join Olympia in the ancient Rhine town of

Andernach. After a first evening meal, enjoy a

nightcap in the ships bar, or simply retire to

your comfortable cabin.

Day Two ~ Cochem

Olympia sails early this morning from

Andernach, heading upstream into the

Middle Rhine to Koblenz and the mighty

Ehrenbreitstein castle, then into the scenic

twists and turns of the River Moselle, arriving

by lunchtime in pretty half-timbered Cochem,

nestled beneath fairy-tale Reichsburg Castle.Step ashore to discover this famous wine-

making village, and join this afternoons

optional excursion, journeying by coach

along the Mosel Weinstrasses scenic route.

Day Three ~ Boppard

Enjoy a scenic cruise back to Koblenz, before

arriving later this afternoon in the picture-

book wine town of Boppard, the Pearl of

the Rhine. Join our Tour Manager for an

included walking tour. An historical treasure

chest and major wine-producing centre, the

town is as engaging and fascinating as any

you will find on the river. The evening is spent

moored alongside, and you can enjoy dinner

and entertainment on board, or step ashore

to take in the charms of Boppard by night.

Day Four ~ Rhine Gorge and RdesheimAn unforgettable day awaits, as Olympia

slips her moorings to leave Boppard behind,

to sail into the picture-postcard heart of the

Day Five ~ Mannheim and Mainz

Having sailed south during the night,

Olympia arrives early this morning in

stylish Mannheim, at the confluence of

the Rhine and the River Neckar. Join the

optional excursion to beautiful Heidelberg,

the Student Prince city set beneath an

imposing castle one of Germanys must-

see destinations. Youll return to Olympia

in time to sail on to the great city of Mainz,

capital of the Rhineland-Palatinate and

famous as the hometown of Johannes

Gutenburg, the father of the printing press.

Enjoy dinner on board, and step ashore toexplore.

Day Six ~ Cruise to Frankfurt

Enjoy an included walking tour of Mainz, a

formerly hugely powerful city, with its six-

towered cathedral, Gutenberg Museum

and delightfulAltstadtof half-timbered

houses, before returning to Olympia for

this afternoons sailing into the River Main,

passing through an exquisite vineyard-clad

landscape, and heading east towards the

contrast of the soaring Mainhattan skyline

of Frankfurt, where youll arrive after dinner

this evening.

Day Seven ~ Frankfurt

An optional guided tour this morning will

bring to life Germanys fifth-largest city.

North of the river is the historicAltstadt,

centred on the rebuilt central square,

the Rmerberg, and surrounded by the

remnants of ancient fortifications. Close

by, the towering faade of the Kaiserdom

church dominates the eastern end of the

Altstadt, dwarfed in turn by the sky-piercing

buildings of the Financial District to the

west. South of the river, the delightful lanes

ofSachsenhausen are home to countless

cafs and bars served traditional Ebbelwoi

orApfelwein cider.

The rest of the day is free perhaps to

visit one of the citys many outstanding

museums, to take a ride up the vertiginous

Maintowerfor the stunning views, or to restand relax on board Olympia. This evening,

the Captain hosts a Farewell Dinner, with

chance to swap memories of the past

Day Eight ~ Disembark in Frankfurt

Bid Auf wiedersehen to Olympia and her

crew this morning, and begin your return

journey back to the UK.

Day One ~ Embark in FrankfurtTravel to Frankfurt to board Olympia. After

a first evening meal on board, head to the

ships bar, or retire to your cabin, as the ship

slips her moorings and begins the cruise.

Day Two ~ Wertheim

Awake as Olympia cruises through the

meandering Main, arriving this afternoon in

exquisite, medieval Wertheim, with its half-

timbered houses and winding streets set

in the shadow of one of Germanys most

impressive castles. The town is famed for its

glass-blowing, and this afternoons included

walking tour will include the opportunity tosee some of the craftsmen at work. Olympia

sails once again this evening, as you enjoy

dinner and the evenings entertainment.

Day Three ~ Wrzburg

This morning finds Olympia moored in

glorious Wrzburg, nestled beneath steep,

vine-covered slopes. The centre of theNorth Bavarian wine-producing trade, this

ancient prince-bishopric is crowned by the

UNESCO-listed Residenz, a magnificent

Baroque palace overlooking the citys

Altstadt, and whose opulence rivals that of

Versailles or Viennas Schnbrunn. Enjoy an

optional guided tour, which features entrance

to the Residenzand its stunning gardens

and a chance for some wine tasting, then re-

board Olympia for another afternoons cruise.

Day Four ~ Bamberg

Following the Mains meandering course

up-river, Olympia arrives by lunchtime in the

beautiful, UNESCO-listed city of Bamberg,where medieval splendour has survived the

turbulent centuries untouched, and where

begin the transit of the extraordinary Main-

Danube Canal.

Day Five ~ Nuremberg

Continuing her passage along the

engineering wonder that enables river travel

between the North Sea and the Black

Sea, Olympia arrives early this morning in

Nuremberg, its rebuilt half-timbered houses

and narrow lanes seemingly unchanged

in centuries. Join our optional tour,

which might include the ancient Rathaus

or parliament building, the twin-spired

Sebalduskirche and the imposing fortress of

the Kaiserburg and the central Hauptmarkt,

the main square. This evening Olympia

continues her transit of the canal.

Day Six ~ Kelheim and Regensburg

Olympia enters the Danube at Kelheim, at

a point where the river is overlooked by

high cliffs, atop one of which sits Mad

King Ludwigs spectacular Befreiungshallemonument, built to commemorate German

victories in the Napoleonic wars. In another

narrow gorge the Weltenburg monastery

sits perched between the river and cliff-top,

site of a near-thousand-year-old brewery.

Disembark in Kelheim this morning to visit

the Abbey, or stay on board for the cruise

to majestic Regensburg, one of Central

Europes best-preserved medieval trading

cities. Enjoy an included walking tour this

afternoon, discovering the citys bustling

Altstadtand some of its thousand or so

historic monuments, before re-boarding

Olympia for her last evening cruise.

Day Seven ~ Passau

This morning Olympia arrives in the

Italianate city of Passau, at the confluence

of the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers, and at

the border between Bavaria and Austria.

A final highlight of the holiday will be the

opportunity to join a tour of Passau, with a

visit to the ornate St. Stephans Cathedral,

where you will be treated to a recital played

on the 17,000-pipe church organ Europes

largest.

This afternoon, discover more of the

delights of this splendid city, with its

Baroque architecture lending it an almost

Mediterranean air.

Olympia moors overnight in Passau, giving

you the opportunity to enjoy a last dinner

on board, and to take in some of the

atmosphere of the citys charmingAltstadt.

Days Eight & Nine ~ Disembark in Passau

Bid farewell to Olympia this morning and

coach passengers begin their return

journey back to the UK, overnighting in

a comfortable hotel in the Frankfurt area,

before retuning home the following day.

Passengers flying from Munich will transfer

to the airport for their flight home.

Day One ~ Outbound coach travel to theFrankfurt area

Passengers travelling by coach will leave the

UK today and travel to the Frankfurt area and

an overnight hotel.

Day Two ~ Embark in Linz

While those travelling by coach continue

south, passengers joining by air will fly to

Vienna and transfer to meet Olympia in

Linz. Enjoy a first meal aboard, perhaps

stepping ashore to enjoy the atmosphere

of this cosmopolitan home of the famous

Linzertorte. Olympia slips away downstream

overnight.Day Three ~ Melk & the Wachau Valley

Olympia arrives in Melk, beneath Austrias

most celebrated Benedictine Abbey, Stift

Melk, an optional excursion to which will

be one of the undoubted highlights of the

voyage. With its vast church, ornate Baroque

interior, Imperial rooms and museum, the

abbey is a not-to-be-missed treasure.

This afternoon, Olympia heads into the

stunning Wachau valley, which sweeps

majestically past pretty towns and terraces of

vines picture-postcard-perfection before

mooring close to Vienna.

Day Four ~ Imperial Vienna

Board the coach for the short transfer

into the centre of the Austrian capital, city

of coffee and cake, of Strauss waltzes,

musical geniuses and the Habsburg empire,

whose greatest glory is the astonishingHofburg Palace.

Our optional guided tour will introduce you

to this city of palaces, great St. Stephans

Cathedral, historic churches and museums,

elegant shopping arcades and the famous

Day Five ~ Budapest

Be on deck to experience the unforgettable

sight ofOlympias arrival this afternoon in

Hungarys twin capital. Straddling the river,

one half is a grandiose, elegant hillside of

opulent buildings, the other a bustling hive

of commercial activity, and together a place

full of fascination and interest, waiting to

be discovered.

Our optional guided tour of the Pearl of

the Danube will be the best introduction

to this marvellous city. The most striking

monuments are found on the left, Buda,bank of the river, including romantic,

colourful Castle Hill, a maze of winding

streets that is home to the former Royal

Palace and to important museums. Cross

to Pest by the grand Lnchd, or Chain

Bridge, close to the vast Gothic parliament

buildings, which line the river, and discover

the old towns designer stores, coffee

houses, patisseries and restaurants.

Elsewhere, Pests attractions include St.

Stephens Basilica, the Museum of Fine Arts
