I can't re- call an annum that sped by so quick. I'll be looking at another birthday in December. Aaargh, another year old- er! We recently held our major fundrais- er, Porkapalooza. Thanks to the fantas- tic Newburgh BBQ Coalition. You all are the best! And we appreciate all who joined us for lunch and to every- one who purchased pork products. It was a fun couple of days, seeing old friends and meeting new ones. We aren't decided as yet about a 2019 date. I was thinking about the weather we've been having lately and every- body saying how cold it is and that we've gone from summer to winter, with no fall in between. Having lived up north a number of years, I beg to differ with you. We had snow in early October up where we used to live. The weather we've experienced this Octo- ber is considered a warm spell up in northern and central Indiana. Granted, the first part of October was warmer than usual, but I'm cherishing the crisp blue of our skies now and the cooler temperatures. (My comfort zone has shrunk the past few years. I only feel comfortable from 55-75 de- grees and the 55 includes a sweatshirt and socks.) We have a few leaves turn- ing colors. Others must have missed the memo this year and went straight from summer green to drab brown. Squirrels are digging up the yard in Senior Center closed Election Day Newburgh Senior Center will be closed Election Day, November 6, as it is a polling location. We urge everyone to vote. All our votes are important. It's your right and re- sponsibility. (If you don't vote, you can't complain. Euchre tournamentheld at Senior Center

time. We'll try to schedule anotherone in late January.We play Euchre every Wednesday

at the Center, starting noon-ish. Allyou have to be is 55 or older, andhave a background in Euchre--even ifyou haven't played for years.

If you don't know how to play Eu-chre, stop by the Center some after-noon and we'll teach you the basics.Winners for our first ever Euchre
