A GENTLEMAN of active ' business. habits, possessing a practical knowledge- of the art of Surveying, and being well acquainted with the value of Land, is about to establish him- self in the above Colony, and wouldbe willing to undertake the local management of ai\ Estate for any Gentleman who has invested Capital in the purchase of Land there, and who may requires confidential Agent to superintend the choice of location to see that the allotment is from time to time disposed of in themost advantageousmanner— and generally topreserve therights and interests of the Proprietor. THE BRITISH AND COLONIAL EXPORT COMPANY, 98 Leadenhall street, in addition to their other Colonial Agencies, have been requested by several influential parties, proceeding as Settlers to that country, to act as Commercial Agents for the First Colony of New Zealand. The Export Company, whose Manager has been a good deal in New Zealand and the neighbouring British Colonies in Australia, are ready, therefore, to undertake any commission business which intending Emigrants may require previous to sailing, as well as during their absence from Great Britain, especially purchasing and shipping goods adapted to the Colony; whilst to such parties as may favour them with their busi- ness, the most unreserved information will be afforded as to the nature of the country they are going to, the employment and prospects of the Settlers, together with the best modes of invest- ing capital, &c. &c. &c. As these valuable Islands eminently possess in their soil and climate, rivers and harbours; flax, fisheries, and forests, the materials of S.great and powerful people, there is no reason to doubt the immediate success of the First Colony, and, with the usual energies of Englishmen, that New Zea- land will become, in process of time, one of the proudest possessions of the British Crown. The Directors of the New Zealand Land Com- pany hereby give notice that they haveeffected an arrangement with the Directors of the Union Bank of Australia; in pursuance of which, a Branch of the Union Bank will be established forthwith on the Company's First and Principal Settlement. The Directors therefore recommend to the Colonists the Union Bank of Australia, as a means of effecting their pecuniary transactions with convenience and security. A RRANGEMENTS are inprogress for ■£*- the immediate formation of this Bank, and for the commencement of business in the first or principal settlement about to be founded by the New Zealand Land Company. " The Society for the Propagation of the Gos- pel in Foreign Parts " having consented "to grant a salary of 100/. per annum for three years, together with a grant for outfit, to any well-qualified Clergyman who shall be willing .to* undertake the duty of Chaplain to the Colony which is about proceeding to .New Zealand ;" Resolved, that this liberality on the part of the Society be met by a corres- ponding measure on thepart of the friends of the Colony and the Emigrants. 2. That 200/. per annum be guaranteed to the Clergyman, in addition to the salary allowed by the Society. 3. That a House and Glebe beprovided for the Clergyman for the time being. 4. That every exertion be made to complete the subscriptions required for building the Church. 5. That the foregoing Resolutions be published inthenewspapers, for the informationofthose Clergymen of the Church of England who may be disposedto .become Candidatesfor the appointment.
