Here, we check-in to our rooms and enjoy the rest of the afternoon on our own. This evening, we join fellow Queens alumni and friends for a delightful evening reception honoring Queens’ 21st President, Daniel Lugo. Friday, January 24, 2020: New York City This morning we’ll participate in a theatre district tour and workshop. Broadway Show Info Moulin Rouge Inspired by Baz Luhrmann's 2001 smash flm musical of the same name, Moulin Rouge, has been adapted for the stage and just recently opened on Broadway. The show is the hottest ticket in town and already is drawing packed and cheering audiences. The evening is flled with varied dance numbers - from raucous can-cans, steamy tangoes, and beyond - to make your heart pound; rich and brilliant lights, sets and costumes to dazzle the eye; soaring, snappy and swoon-worthy songs to treat the ear; and a fascinating cast of characters from every walk of life to intrigue. Tootsie Another Hollywood favorite hits the stage as Tootsie of 2019 reboots Tootsie (the movie) of 1982 with a few updates and innovations along the way. Tootsie garnered MANY nominations and awards when it opened earlier in 2019 and took home 2 Tonys. Santino Fontana stars, a multi-talented cast in the other familiar roles assist; Tony award winning Scott Ellis directs; and since the critics have been allowed to weigh in on this one, we can cite a few published endorsements: "a giddy night out" (The Guardian); "a sure-fre crowd-pleaser" (Variety); "out to give you a good time: TOOTSIE rocks, TOOTSIE rolls, TOOTSIE pops." (Time Out).
