• Not like Biology Species, genus, family, order, class, phylum, Kingdom

• Problems:– synonyms, ANT, ant– similar tags: dog, dogs, puppies– no hierarchy:

• Advantages:– wide coverage– Simple– Auto-Grouping

• Allows large files to be distributed over the internet very efficiently
