severe illness. However they can spread the infection to younger siblings and other more vulnerable people, who are at higher risk of severe disease. Whooping cough can be a life threatening infection in babies.

What can you do to prevent whooping cough?

1. Make sure vaccinations are up to date for all family members

2. Be alert for symptoms of whooping cough

3. Keep coughing kids home, to prevent them spreading the infection to others, and see your GP to get them tested for whooping cough

For more information on Whooping Cough and vaccination visit the NSW Health Website (https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/whoopingcough/Pages/default.aspx)

SCHOOL NEWS

What a fantastic day! Thank you to everyone for making it such a great success! Our school was a sea of orange and other colours representing flags, traditional costumes and unique outfits from different countries, expressing the multitude of nationalities at ENPS.

Don't forget your posters for the Poster Competition which is based on the theme ‘Harmony - it's up to us’. Students are to design an A3 size poster around this theme.

Clearly label the poster with your name and class and give it to your class teacher.

P & C NEWS

OCTOBER 26TH >>> OCTOBER 26TH >>> OCTOBER 26TH

2019 is the School Fair... woo hoo!!!

The P&C Committee is now full steam ahead to make this happen. But with making this happen we need people, and brilliant people, who are keen to get involved!

As we want this opportunity to be involved to be open to a wide network of people, and to help ensure our kids, families and communities have a brilliant day come October 26th, we will be holding an open forum on Tuesday, April 9th, 7:45pm at the School Library.

Tuesday 9th April will be an opportunity for anyone to hear some initial thoughts on the approach, ask questions, flag some ideas, consider volunteering to help pull this thing together... and sooo importantly, volunteering to assist on the day.

So, what can you do? 2 things really for now.

1. Take a think about how you may get involved and whether stepping in to help the P&C is worthwhile in making a successful Fair for 2019 through fundraising that goes back in to your childs schooling at ENPS.

2. Should you wish to get involved, come to the open forum on April 9th and hear what it is all about.

After April 9th we will be setting up an online volunteering registering program for people to show their interest.

Thanks so much!

Regards,

ENPS P&C Executive

CANTEEN NEWS This week, for Meal of the Week, we have Honey Soy Chicken Drumsticks. Did you know that the canteen sources quality ingredients from the local business precinct? The sausage rolls on the menu are made fresh to order by Ryan, our friendly local butcher, on Wednesday and Friday mornings. The canteen is committed to supporting North Epping businesses that support our school community. Please show your support for them too by shopping locally when you can.

Thank you to those people who have given feed-back for the menu review. This process is now closed. All suggestions have been collated and will be considered, in conjunction with Carolyn Booty, for possible inclusion on the menu at the next canteen committee meeting.

I am currently compiling the roster for Term 2. If you have any availability on a Wednesday or Friday and would like to join the canteen team, I would love to hear from you. Email me on [email protected] , or call/ text 0427223065.
