New tech developments launched tosupport community sport sector throughcovid-19

A series of new tech and digital developments have been launched in the pastweek to help support the community physical activity and sport sector toadapt to the impacts of the covid-19 outbreak.

industry partners have worked to provide new digital support packages forthe sector.

Digital delivery during covid-19

As increasing amountsof physical activity delivery move online or intoalternative formats to support people's physical activity needs duringlockdown, London Sport and the Mayor of London's Community Sport Teamare hosting a dedicated webinar to provide advice and guidance. 

Representatives from London Sport and the Mayor's Office will be joinedby Activity Alliance Marketing & Communications Manager, Sarah Brown-Fraser, to provide guidance on the best ways to delivery activity at homeduring lockdown, and what to consider from an inclusion and accessibilityperspective.

Guide to Live Streaming Classes

The OpenActive community has collaborated on a new guide to quickly andeasily putting on high-quality live-stream classes. The aim of this guide is tohelp activity providers of all shapes and sizes take their expertise online. 

Whether that's yoga, bootcamp, pilates, dance fitness or whatever else. Theguide provides clear advice on the things to think through before taking theplunge into live-streamed activities.

Promoting Online Sessions

For deliverers who have already made the move into online delivery, we haveupdated the Open Sessions platform to enable users to promote their onlineactivities.

How to promote your online activity via Open Sessions

Finding Live and On-Demand Activity Classes

To help Londoners find the best live and on-demand activity classes availableduring the covid-19 lockdown, we have worked with Played and imin toupdate the Get Active activity finder website so that Londoners can nowsearch for the right activities for them. 

We've worked to identify activities suitable for older adults and those withhealth conditions to make it eas easy as possible for all Londoners to find theright things at the right times for them.
