THE FIRST STADIUM DESIGNED WITH THE ENVIRONMENT & INNOVATION IN MIND
EARLY IN THE PROCESS, 49ERS OWNERSHIP CHALLENGED THE STADIUM’S DESIGNERS TO TAKE A GREEN APPROACH TO THE DESIGN.
Thanks to collaborative efforts with the EPA as well as ongoing support and input from the numerous LEED-certified professionals working on the project,
the New Stadium incorporates progressive, environmentally sustainable features that will make it a showcase in “green” design. It is currently one of the
largest building projects registered with the US Green Building Council, which evaluates sustainably designed buildings.
• The first stadium designed with both a
plant-covered “green” roof and solar panels.
• Uses paving and roofing materials with a
high solar reflectance index.
• Uses recycled water for landscape irrigation.
• Features the latest technology in water-
conserving plumbing fixtures.
• No use of CFC-based refrigerants in HVAC
systems throughout the stadium.
• Utilizes sophisticated building control systems
for maximum efficiency.
• Within easy walking distance of multiple
transit options including VTA, ACE and
Amtrak.
• Extensive use of recycled materials.
• The 49ers are working with the Silicon Valley
Bicycle Coalition on programs to encourage
cyclists to use the San Tomas Aquino Creek
Trail to access the stadium.
OPEN DESIGN
The attractive white, painted steel structure of the
49ers New Stadium is designed to be light, airy and
open. The first level will feature open pedestrian plazas,
commercial community space, a team store, a 49ers
Hall of Fame, and vibrant signage. The stadium’s open
design allows for tremendous views out to the
surrounding areas and in toward the action on the field.
PLAZAS
The stadium will be anchored on its corners by spacious
entry plazas, creating relaxed and open gathering
places for meeting friends or simply enjoying the
moment. The main entry plaza, at the northwest corner
of the stadium, will be open to the public year-round,
including non-game days, providing striking views of
the playing field as well as an opportunity for casual
refreshment and premiere shopping opportunities.
MULTI-PURPOSE VENUE
The stadium is functionally designed to be used for a
wide range of events. The field can host professional
and college football, domestic and international soccer,
motocross, concerts and a wide range of civic events.
Special events like conferences and banquets can also
be held in the premium amenity areas in conjunction
with the Santa Clara Convention Center.

premier events including the Super Bowl, international soccer

WHERE EVERY FAN HAS THE BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE. SUITES
The New Stadium will have 162 suites
in three different locations on three
separate levels. Most of the suites are
stacked on the west side of the stadium
to provide unparalleled service and the
best sightlines. Suite holders will have
access to club areas and the roof deck
patio located on top of the suite tower.
CLUB LEVELS
The stadium will have roughly 9,000 club
seats. There is over 110,000 square feet
of club space, which is among the most
in the NFL, featuring larger padded
seats, upscale dining options, VIP
parking, large screen monitors and
multiple entertainment options.
LOWER BOWL
With over 45,000 seats, the New Stadium
will have one of the largest lower bowls in
the entire NFL, putting you closer to the
action on the field than ever before.
UPPER BOWL
By entirely eliminating the traditional club
mezzanine level, the stadium brings the
upper deck lower and closer to the field.
CLUB OPTIONS
Club options will
include the exclusive
“Field Club” where
you can watch the
team as they make
their way out of the locker room and on to the field.
Members will also have access to a patio area on the field
behind the team bench area while the game is being played.
ALL ROADS LEAD TO THE 49ERS NEW STADIUMTHERE WILL BE AMPLE PARKING AT THE NEW STADIUM.
The 40,000 parking spaces located within short walking distance from
the stadium provide more than double the parking available to fans on
game day at Candlestick Park. Tailgating will be an integral part of the
game day experience in Santa Clara.
The New Stadium is located near several major highways and
expressways including the 101, 237, 880, Lawrence Expressway and
San Tomas Expressway. There are 13 interchanges located near Santa
Clara’s Entertainment District, compared with 4 at Candlestick Park. We
anticipate fans will be able to get on the freeway in about half the
time it takes at Candlestick Park.
The stadium also provides excellent transit access including buses,
VTA light rail, ACE trains and Amtrak. Traffic engineers expect 25% of
fans to take transit to and from the stadium for events.
