Eucharistic Adoration Hours

We are looking to have an adorer present before the Blessed Sacrament, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Would you consider taking an hour? The benefits are out of this world. The white hours are open.

Contact Patty Marmie with questions at 402-416-4224 or [email protected]. The adoration chapel is still open, though the Blessed Sacrament is reposed. You are welcome and encouraged to come and pray anytime.

2020 CSA APPEAL

The Charity and Stewardship Appeal supports many good causes in our diocese, like the hospital ministry, prison ministry, youth ministry, Catholic Social Services, religious sisters, retreat center, Camp Kateri, and schools. Almost all of the funds raised come right back to our parish, as we receive 80% of our goal and 100% above our goal.

Would you prayerfully consider pledging by May 15? This could be a one-time gift or a gift broken into semi-annual, quarterly, or monthly payments. If you would like to give, please either mail or drop off the pledge card. You may also give online at https://www.lincolndiocese.org/diocese/charity-and-stewardship-appeal or text-to-give on your smartphone by texting 531-233-1022.

Thank you for your generous support! “God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Cor. 9:7)

Parish Novena

to the Holy Spirit

Ascension Thursday is coming up on Thursday, May 21. Jesus ascends to heaven to prepare a place for us, to sit at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us, and to send us His Holy Spirit who completes the work

of salvation in us. Let us prepare for the coming of the

Holy Spirit by praying a novena to the Holy Spirit as a parish family. The

novena will begin on Friday, May 22, and will be available through email,

parish website, and Facebook.

Come, Holy Spirit, come!

A PARISH CARD SHOWER!

On Saturday, May 23, Deacon Alec Sasse will be ordained to the priesthood of Jesus Christ. To show our support of Alec, our gratitude for his gifts at St. Michael, and our joy for how the Lord wants to work through him, let us “shower” him with

cards. We invite parishioners to mail in to the parish office or drop by a card for Dea-

con Alec by Friday, May 22.

Thurs., May 21: The Ascension of the Lord 7:00AM Anton Baran+ 8:15AM Paula Chipman+ 5:30 PM Christy Family

Jesus has left us temporarily—albeit, only sacramentally! He is truly with us. While it can be especially difficult to recognize His presence without receiving Him in the Eucharist, or sitting in front of Him in adoration, St.

John Paul II said, "We are an Easter people," and we must

remember the He is Risen! He is alive. Our experience of Jesus leaving is not unlike the early apostles, who personally wit-

nessed Jesus leaving this earth. One could imagine the great

fear, anxiety, and doubt with-out their Lord whom they had given their lives to follow. But

Jesus instructed them, "It is better for you that I go that I

go. For if I do not go, the Advo-cate (the Holy Spirit) will not come to you. But if I go, I will

send him you." Jesus fulfilled His promise and sent the Holy Spirit

on the apostles at Pentecost, the birth of the Church.
