THE UNITED REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA PRESIDENT'S OFFICE PUBLIC SERVICE MANAGEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT OF LONG AND SHORT COURSES UNDER A USTRALIAN DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIP FOR THE YEAR 2014/2015 Applications are invited from qualified Tanzanians to apply for long and short courses under Australian development scholarship tenable in Australia for the year 2014/2015.  Long and short course awards will be on the following key sectors of focus agreed between the Government of Australia and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania.  (A) Australia Awards- Africa Fellowships (i.e. short courses) Short courses under this section include the following:-  Agriculture   Post Harvest Management,  Agriculture   Livestock,  Mining   Managing the Social and Environmental Impacts of Mining,  Mining   Geospatial Information Systems,  Mining   Mining Resources: Regulation and Revenue Management,  Public Policy - Diplomacy Training,  Public Policy   Organisational and Employee Development,  Public Policy - Public-Private Partnerships,  Public Policy   Trade, and  Health   Maternal, Neo-natal and Child Health.

(A) Australia Awards- Africa Fellowships (i.e. short courses)Short courses under this section include the following:-

 (B) Australia Awards Scholarships (i.e. Master Degree Programs)

(i) Agriculture/Food Security,(ii) Health,(iii) Infrastructure,(iv) Natural Resource Management, and

(v) Public Policy.

Eligibility for the Master Degree Programs: To be eligible for Long and short courses awards, applicants must meet all eligibility criteria, including thefollowing:

  You must be at least 25 and not more than 50 years of age at the date of your application.

  You must have a minimum of three (3) years’ post-graduation work experience. This work experiencemust be in a role relevant to your proposed field of study and to your employment organisation type(e.g. public sector applicants should demonstrate public sector work experience, and so on). Preferencewill be given to candidates with greater periods of experience.

  You possess, as a minimum, a Bachelors degree (or the equivalent). Holders of Humanities and SocialSciences degrees must have a minimum mark of at least a Second Class Upper (2:1, or “B”, or theequivalent average mark). Holders of other Sciences Degrees must have at least a Pass or theequivalent.

  You must not already hold, or be studying for, a Masters degree.

  You must be willing to make a formal commitment to return to your current employment followingcompletion of the award You must meet the general minimum eligibility criteria for Australia AwardsScholarships –  refer to the Australia Awards Scholarships policy handbook

Costs covered Australia Awards cover the full cost of tuition fees, training materials, accommodation, living expenses, healthinsurance for basic medical and hospital care in Australia, and travel to and from Australia.

It is advisable to send a copy of application form to the President’s Office, Public Service Management(Division of Human Resource Development) to enable follow-up.

Applicants from the Regions/Districts are highly encouraged to apply, applications from women and peoplewith disability are strongly encouraged.

Application Deadlines:-  Australia Awards Scholarships (Long Term Awards-Master level) commencing 2015 (close on 13th 

December, 2013), and

  Australia Awards-Africa Fellowships (Short Courses) during 2014 (close on 17th January, 2014).

NB: You should submit your fully completed Application Form along with all supporting documents by thedeadlines. We encourage applicants to submit their applications earlier than this if possible. People withdisability are encouraged to apply, as are women and people from rural areas.
