Will LinkedIn Replace the Traditional Resume?

Why All The Changes?

—Online Visual Resumes are Leading Change (i.e. Prezumes, VisualCV, LinkedIn)
—Resumes Need to be Skimmable

3. Resumes Now Have a Header + Sub-Header(also referred to a Title + Sub-Title)
CAUTION: If readers of your resume need to ask, “what you are targeting” — you haven’t developed a viable “start” to your resume.
With the sub-header, you have MANY options on what you include: [-] Achievements [-] Target Industry[-] Primary Job Skills [-] Security Clearance[-] Top Credentials [-] Quick Examples of Projects

6. Use Situation/Action/Result (SAR) Writing Style Whenever Possible — although put the “r” first
—Lead With Results Can Make the Resume Content More Visually Attractive; #’s and %’s are listed prominently.
—Get Away from Mundane or Possibly Over-Used Action Verbs
Example:This— Increased productivity by 50% amongst field technicians by implementing internal and external remote administration software. Initiated new procedures that resolved issues "over the wire" from a tech’s desk instead of physically accessing the computer.
Instead of This— Implemented internal and external remote administration software and initiated new procedures that resolved issues "over the wire" from a tech’s desk instead of physically accessing the computer. Increased productivity by 50% amongst field technicians.

7. What About Mobile???
Jobseeker Side of Things
—Phone Apps (JobMo, LinkUp, Indeed[Possibly Most Robust])
—Increased Ability to Search Employers
On the Employer Side of Things
—Increased Speed-to-Communicate, sure ...
—How mobile effect viewing of resumes, recruitment, and pre-screening is yet to be seen“...companies are struggling to keep up despite the enormous opportunity mobile provides: just 20% of companies have mobile-optimized career sites, and a mere three percent have a mobile app.” —Source: theundercoverrecruiter.com/mobile-recruiting-hiring
