After a devastating tornado ravaged Nashville in the Spring of 2020 making their studio unusable, immediately followed by a global pandemic shutting down their community and touring livelihood, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings were able to find the inspiration to set up recording equipment in their home living room and record 10 performances on their reel-to-reel of some of their favorite songs from the likes of John Prine (“Hello In There”), Bob Dylan (“Abandoned Love”), Norman Blake (“Ginseng Sullivan”), and more.

All The Good Times is the first Welch/Rawlings collaboration to feature both of their names on the cover, and received a 2021 Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album. Originally released in July 2020 as a surprise treat for fans, the limited edition handmade CD and LP first pressings sold out in 48 hours as a D2C exclusive. This new reissue will have revised art and packaging, including some new photos. The vinyl (coming later this year) will have new artwork on a tip-on jacket with custom paper. A full press campaign for the reissue will be headed by Mary Moyer / Q Prime (US), Claire Horton (UK), and Chris O’Hearn / Thrillhill (AU).

Mute are excited to announce the release of Visionist’s album A Call to Arms. It will be available on CD packaged in a blind embossed gatefold sleeve and all digital platforms on March 5, and on limited edition white vinyl on March 26.

Visionist’s first release for Mute is a hypnotic elegy. A Call to Arms is Visionist’s third album release and where previously the artist used his vocals as samples, we hear his singing voice in the form of song and lyric for the first time. Along with the addition of Visionist’s vocals, the album is host to a varied list of collaborators including Haley Fohr (Circuit des Yeux) and Morgan Simpson (Black Midi).

For Visionist (aka Louis Carnell) each album is a chapter in a bigger storyline, and this new album builds upon 2015’s debut, Safe [PAN] and its follow up, Value [2017 / Big Dada Recordings].

Carnell says, “With every project I want to test myself, so with this ethos, I expand the landscape of sound I have created over the years. On A Call to Arms I have furthered my musical direction in terms of collaboration in order to bring new layers of sonics, dynamics, energies and ideas.”

PROJECT OVERVIEWThere is a subtle shift that happens in an artistʼs life when they achieve any measure of success. Their empty calendars fi ll up, they lose a signifi cant amount of privacy, rest becomes obsolete, and the pressure felt increases drastically. Jordan Feliz experienced this fi rsthand after his chart-topping debut radio single “The River” was released in 2015. The pressure of fast tracking his career alongside some major changes in his personal life caused his overnight success to feel more like a burden than a blessing. “Itʼs like all your dreams kind of get handed to you, but thereʼs really no fulfi llment in it, and I realized it was because everything was out of alignment for me,” the artist revealed. Jordan invited God into his anxiety and allowed him to realign his priorities before re-entering the studio to create his third full-length project “Say It”. “Before we started working on new music, I started asking the Lord to give me something to say, and I felt like he just said, ʻSay everything thatʼs on your heart. Say everything that youʼve been through. Be as vulnerable as possible. Tell the world the thing that you are terrifi ed to tell the world,” Feliz says “I think sometimes the things youʼre scared to bring to people are most likely the most impactful”.

DESCRIPTION:Heavily distorted and down-tuned sounds turn the legendary fields of the German Freak Valley Festival into madness. The undisputed masters of fantastical otherworldly sludgy doom, CONAN, will cast a spell on the listener and propel them straight into the crowd, captured in dust. ALL THE RIGHT NOISES is a return to the full-throttle sound of THUNDER that has seen them create a hugely successful 30+ year career at the forefront of British rock, all built around the lifelong friendship of vocalist extraordinaire Danny Bowes and songwriting genius and guitarist Luke Morley. All The Right Noises is an intense confection of illicit charms that reasserts their authority as the number one band in the land. Recorded in the months leading up to the first Covid-19 lockdown, it was originally due for release in September 2020. Strange to reflect then on how much of the new material appears to address the challenging new world we now inhabit. On the album, Luke says “All the songs were written and recorded pre-Covid. But it is interesting how if you look at some of the tracks through the prism of Covid they still make a lot of sense.” The volcanic lead single from the album, “Last One Out Turn Off The Lights” could easily be mistaken for world-ending lockdown rage. 2020 was poised to be Future Teens’ breakout year. After releasing their sophomore LP Breakup Season, cosplaying as Carly Rae Jepsen, and zeroing on the romantic longing of fans worldwide, the Boston quartet was rising. While such a hard stop was part of every band’s story in 2020, the momentum hadn’t left the group — guitarists/vocalists Amy Hoffman and Daniel Radin, drummer Colby Blauvelt, and bassist Maya Mortman — straying too far from their central heartline. Deliberately Alive, their blustery follow-up EP, is Future Teens at their most explosive and earnest, showcasing a band in between journal volumes.

Fans of the band’s confessional tone will hear it ring throughout, regardless of the messenger. When Hoffman’s lead vocalist, you get “Guest Room,” a strutting emo-pop moment where there’s more than just the first of the month living rent-free in their head. Radin’s turn brings “Play Cool,” a vignette of gig life and the fallouts that can occur during a local opener’s set. Both deliver the classic Future Teens formula: open on a slice of East Coast life, sprinkle in some anxiety and self-facing critique, and let the band surge beneath. Winking one-liners characterize both Radin’s “Separated Anxiety,” which crackles the release to life, and Hoffman’s “Bizarre Affection,” featuring a starburst of an intro that disintegrates into another night alone.

But as Future Teens knows, there’s an after implied in all of these uneasy, warped presents—make sure you stick around for Future Teens’ latest reimagining of a pop song. This time, it’s Cher’s “Believe.”
