Classes are held two times each month. This class is limited to four students. Class fee is $20 per class. Remember to sign up early and list your project so your teacher can be prepared to help you. Semi-Private Sewing Class

For those of us that love to create and give away our handmade creations, the time for creating can be stress-ful. With these few tips, we hope that your sewing and creating time will be more joyful.

1. Check your equipment. Make sure your machines are running well. Have them serviced so they will make it through all your sewing with no trouble. Check that scis-sors are sharp and you have pins, thread, etc. It’s always bad when you are working along and you fi nd you are out or that your machine needs help.

2. Have an idea folder. Either have a folder on your computer or one that you can thumb through. Having all your ideas in one spot will help. Look through your Pins, Saves or Shares, then think of the family and friends you will be giving to. Now, match up the people and ideas.

3. Plan ahead. Make a list of those that you are making things for. Then, look at your calendar and see when you will have time to sew. Be sure to mark the parties, shop-ping, classes, baking, etc. Then, block out your sewing/creating time.

4. Elf help. Enlist the help of kids, spouse and friends. Find the things that others can help you with. (Pressing, sorting, sewing, gluing, etc.) Some things may take lon-ger with kids, but look at this as a time to grow and take pride in something they helped make.

5. Assembly sew. If you are making the same gift for many people, sew or create them all at once. Making things out of different colors but doing the cutting, press-ing and more all together will save time.

6. Have an emergency plan. As with any project, we may have surprises come up. We need to have a backup plan just in case something happens to our project or our time (even our best intentions can go awry). Don’t let the holidays be ruined by it.
