NEED OF PROJECT : PROBLEM WITH

PLASTIC-

• Disposal of waste plastic is a major problem .It isnon- biodegradable and it mainly consists of lowdensity polyethylene.

• Burning of these waste plastic materials causesenvironmental pollution.

• It chokes animals who eat plastic bags.

• Plastic blocks germination and prevent rainwater.

• Leaching impact on soil, underground water etc. dueto improper dumping of plastic waste (contain metals& phthalates).

Introduction: Types of plastic and plastic

waste-

Plastic waste

RECYCLEABLE

The plastics like PET, HDPE and 3% of PP

can be recycled eg. Pop and water bottles.

NON-RECYCLEABLE

The plastics like LDPE, PP, PS eg. bags & food wrap, plastic utensils , cups &

plates , chairs etc

Present scenario-

• PLASTIC WASTE GENERATION IN INDIA:As per the

study(2016) conducted by Central Pollution Control Board

(CPCB) in 60 major cities of India, , it is estimated that around

25,940 T/day.

OBJECTIVE OF PROJECT-

• We are introducing a technique to totally remove

PLASTIC WASTE .

• Our idea is to develop alternate source of energy( fuel

and gas) by plastic waste in sustainable manner

• In this we are converting plastic waste into fuel

energy .

• The main objective of idea is to protect our

environment from pollution as well as to find

alternate energy source .

WORKING PRINCIPLE-

• PYROLYSIS:- The word is coined from Greek-

derived elements pyro “fire” and lysis “separating”.

• Pyrolysis is a thermal decomposition of materials

at elevated temperatures in an inert atmosphere

such as a vacuum or nitrogen gas.

• It involves the change of chemical composition and is

irreversible.

Plastic waste

• Segregation of plastic waste

• Placing of raw material

Pyrolysis

• Heating with controlled condition

condensation of fuel gases

FURTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR THE

TEST AND APPROVAL-

• Fuel Oil testing:

• Trace Metals in oil fuel (nickel, cadmium, mercury, etc.)

• Trace sulfur (sulphur)

• Heavy Distillates Testing and Inspection

• Contamination Detection and Analysis

• Additive Services for Petroleum and Fuel

• Chemical analysis of flue gases when oil is used as a fuel
