The HENAAC Summit is an outstanding opportunity for confer-ence sponsors to convene and select the annual award winners, finalize conference participation, meet other sponsors, and find out the latest programs taking place within the entire Great Minds in STEM™ organization. The HENAAC Summit also includes meetings of the Executive Ambassador Council and the Great Minds in STEM™ Board of Directors.

Key Activities include:

SELECTION COMMITTEERepresentatives from conference sponsors, academia, past award winners, and sister organizations gather for a full day to review and score HENAAC Award nominations. Rankings are tallied and then presented to the selection committee chairs - Deans of the science and engineering schools from the universities serving as Academic Hosts - for final review and certification. Participation requires a full day’s commitment.

CONFERENCE PLANNING COMMITTEEThis committee meets for 6-8 hours during the Summit to preview the coming HENAAC Conference from start to fin-ish. In addition, all facilities at the newly renovated Hyatt Regency New Orleans scheduled for use during the con-ference will be toured. Sponsors are highly encouraged to send representatives.

SPECIAL MEETINGSIn the past, large organizations like the U.S. Army or U.S. Navy have used the Summit to bring their multiple divisions together to discuss best prac-tices and align common goals for the Conference in October. It’s also a good time to meet with GMiS staff members. Special meetings need to be requested at least 45 days in advance.
