Small Business doesn’t have to

mean Small Coverage

These days the American small business person has enough struggles without having to worry about legal issues attacking their business. Whenever we talk about legal issues, the first thing that comes to mind is, ”My business has never been sued.” But as business people, we deal with legal issues on a regular basis that range from a lawsuit to debt collection, contract or document review, product liability issues, employee theft issues, customer disputes, internet

security breaches, etc.

In fact, nearly 60% of all American businesses have experienced significant legal events in the last two years. Out of the sixty percent, 22% of businesses reported debt collection was the most frequent issue they faced followed by 20% who noted they needed a resource for contract and document review to protect their businesses. Another 10% noted that they had to deal with a contractor or supplier dispute, tax audits, employee confidentiality issues, and more. Almost all businesses saw value in having a resource for legal consultation when needed.

Nearly 60% of business owners, when faced with a legal issue have reported not hiring an attorney due to the concern of cost. Business owners that do retain attorneys on a regular basis have reported spending on average of $7600 a year. The reluctance to use an attorney comes despite the fact that nearly all businesses reported that the concern of cost was the biggest factor as to not seek legal counsel.

Fortunately there is a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a powerful legal resource that puts control back with the business owner. For a fraction of what a small business owner would pay an attorney to handle a single issue, they can have access to their own dedicated law firm to discuss an unlimited number of legal issues.

With the LegalShield Small Business Plan, small business owners have ready access to the quality legal advice and counsel they need so that they can focus on properly managing and growing their business. Currently LegalShield provides legal services to over 47,000 small businesses across North America with dedicated law firms in 49 states and 4 provinces in Canada. With 42 years in existence and attorneys who average 19 years experience, LegalShield has dedicated itself to creating better outcomes for small businesses. For a low fee on a month to month basis, LegalShield members get access to qualified attorneys who are experienced in the areas of law that most impact small businesses.

The attorneys at the firms assist small businesses with such things as incorporation, collecting debts, reviewing contracts and documents, employee issues and more.

For more information, please feel free to contact your local Chamber member and Legal Shield Specialist, Tim Renner at (925) 628-1358 or [email protected] . Tim is committed to helping small businesses who need a legal resource but have been priced out of the legal system.
