MEN OF SCPC

It has been a long time coming, but we are thrilled to announce that a

date has been set for the annual MENS RETREAT. This will be held

the weekend of October 9 to 11, 2015 at the Palo Mesa Resort and

Golf Course down in Fallbrook, California – a 45 minute drive from

San Clemente. We will start with a Friday night dinner and devotional

and end Sunday morning with breakfast and worship service at the

resort. This will be a wonderful opportunity and time for the men of

our church to have fellowship, sing to the LORD, and get spiritually

rejuvenated. Our guest speaker will be announced later in July. A

limited number of partial scholarships will be available. Please con-

FOOD PACKING EVENT by Suzanne Ansari

On Saturday, June 13, at SCPC, approximately

125 volunteers from the CRCSC, both SC Rotary

clubs, SCPC, the Boys & Girls Club, local

churches and community members packaged

over 12,000 meals in under two hours for

distribution to children in need in Africa. The event brought several

families from three different generations and various cultures

together to prepare meals to feed hungry children around the globe.

The oldest volunteer was 92 and the youngest was 4 years old. Several

SC City Council members past and present were at the event.

Volunteers wrote special messages and Bible verses on the food

boxes, sharing Christ’s love with those who will receive the meals.

The City of San Clemente honored Bill Ewing, an SCPC member and

President of the SC Rotary Club, with a special city "Rotary Day"

proclamation to acknowledge the organization’s efforts and highlight

the June 13th meal packing event to

benefit the Kids

Around the World

charity.

Ministry Support update We are in the last month of our fiscal year and need your help to

end well. At the congregational meeting I gave a financial update

to our members. While we have a surplus of $129,800 through the

end of May this has only helped get our operating reserve close to

being positive. Our operating reserve is still in the red and it is possible for it to get into the black with strong June giving. Please

consider an extra gift this month and thank you for your financial support.
