• In association with ENERGY STAR®, on October 1, 2009 the New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program ™ Market Manager launched the new and expanded Change the World Campaign.

– National movement.

– Built upon the previous Change A Light, Change the World Campaign (2000-2007)

– Challenged Americans to do more than just switch their light bulbs, but also improve the performance of heating and cooling systems, ensuring homes are well sealed and insulated and purchasing ENERGY STAR ® qualified products.

– Counts and goals measured on how changes impacted environment, not the number of pledges.

• For this campaign Community Partners needed to sign up as a pledge driver for the new 2008-2009 program as previous sign up for Change a Light did not carry forward and work with GNJRT’s to schedule events.

• Once signed up your organization could start receiving credit for pledges received during your sponsored events.

• Additionally, as your organization was signed up as a partner with New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program ™ credit will also be tallied under our totals as well.

• 2009 already exceeds our previous year’s success which resulted in

40.4 M lbs of greenhouse gas savings.

• As of March 23rd = 41,909,075 lbs of greenhouse gas savings.

Equates to CO2 emissions from the energy use of 3,459,442 homes

for one year.

Deadlines:

• Organization sign up – Immediately, (no later than March 31st).

Pledge Data Entry

• If you are submitting your data entry to the EPA, Change the World Team, pledges must be submitted to them by March 27th.

Please note: Any data entry previously submitted to the EPA may not be accounted for in your organization’s stats. We are told they have received a significant amount of data and are diligently working to have all the information uploaded by April 21st.

• If you are submitting your data entry to Dawn Chaplin, New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program ™, pledges must be submitted by April 7th.

• If you are doing your own data entry, pledges must be entered by April 21st.

• On April 22, Earth Day, all pledge drivers will need to recommit for the 2009-2010 campaign year and begin driving the pledge from 0.

• A whole house approach that focuses on ENERGY STAR products and home improvement practices.

• Enhance social marketing efforts by extending to youth– Educate and activate youth (ages 8-15) and their families to join

in the fight against global warming.
