INDIA: THE ROAD AHEADCONFERENCE & ROUND TABLE

• Prasenjit K. Basu – Maybank Kim Eng, Singapore

The Conference and Round Table is an exclusive event to enable the Malaysian business and investment community to gain an in-depth look and understanding of the political and economic developments in India and how they would impact on their strategies and plans for that country. Companies and corporations, which are already there, will gain a better picture of its directions and the economic reforms, which are taking place. Those who are contemplating going into India will not only be able to assess the vast opportunities available, the challenges they are likely to face but also be provided with practical advice on how to pursue these tangible opportunities.

The day long Conference and Round Table is being organized by MIBC together with Invest India, a government agency for investment promotion and facilitation. It has the valuable support of MITI, the Indian High Commission and the Consor-tium of Indian Industries in Malaysia (CIIM).

The programme features the Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry, YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed as the Guest of Honour at the Lunch-eon and eminent speakers and decision makers who have personal experience and deep insights of the developments in India.

In addition to an absorbing discussion in the morning session, the afternoon programme features two break-out sessions: one on the DMIC (Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor), one of the largest urban infrastructure development projects in the world currently featuring 1500 km long, high capacity dedicated freight corridor of the Western Railway as the backbone and 24 futuristic indus-trial cities featured in the list of the world’s most innovative and inspiring infrastructure projects and two: on an equally promising parallel session on opportunities in the Engineering and ESDM (Electronic Systems Design and Manufacturing) verticals.

• To obtain a greater comprehension of the political and economic climate in India.

• To get practical advice on how to leverage on the vast opportunities being offered in the various sectors to be discussed at the Round Tables.
