Dispersing agents – Introduction
Dispex® Ultra PX 4575 – VOC-free, dispersing agent for waterbased systems with benchmark performance for inorganic pigments
Dispex® Ultra PX 4575 – CFRP technology
Dispex® Ultra PX 4575 – Proven performance
Summary
Well defined structures → higher efficiency of anchoring groups Increased adhesion to the pigment surface for improved flocculation resistance and consistent color development
Well defined structures → precise control of polymeric backbone Excellent stabilizing properties through optimum compatibility
Dispersing agents CFRP and Structure–Performance relationship

Dispersing agents Dispex® Ultra PX 4575 – Tailor-made with CFRP
11
Dispex® Ultra PX 4575 is based on CFRP technology and a new pigment stabilizing mechanism that enhances electrosteric stabilization.
CFRP also enables the precise design of the structured polymer to improve compatibility and stabilizing properties especially for inorganic pigments.

Performance tests – Test methods
16
Test Method
Viscosity / Stability Measurement of viscosity at various shear rates before and after storage at 50°C.
Color strength / Rub-out / Chroma Addition of pigment concentrate to a white (or black) base paint. Application on black and white card and check rub-out: Measurement by colorimeter. Chroma is the saturation of a color, the higher the chroma the “cleaner” a color.
Transparency / Opacity
Measurement of opacity by light absorption. At a value of 100 all light is absorbed and coating is completely opaque: The lower the opacity value, the more transparent the coating. dE* scattering is a measure of light scattered: The lower the value, the higher the transparency.
Gloss Check influence of dispersing agents on gloss of the tinted paints using a gloss meter .
