New Good Hope News
February 15, 2020
On February 26th NHCC will begin the journey through the season of Lent preparing us for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Resurrection Sunday. Our journey will begin with Ash Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. we will convene in the Sanctuary for a meditative service of singing, praying, and preparing for our personal spiritual walk to Jerusalem. Make your plans to attend and invite a friend as we share the rich liturgy reflective of beginning this journey. The service will conclude at 6: 45 pm. God will bless you through your attendance and preparation for the journey through Lent.
At New Hope CC we are so blessed to have great leadership and active members willing to share their time and talents. This past Sunday our “Connect Team” sponsored a Valentine Luncheon follow-ing worship. The event was wonderful and the attendance was grand. We do appreciate the work of our Connect Team as they prepared the food, decorated the fellowship hall and made everyone feel so welcome at this gathering. Well Done Connect Team!
This is an exciting time at NHCC. Things are changing and are about to get even better. On Monday, February 17th a team of individuals from AV Designs will begin the installation of our new sound system. It should take approximately a week for installation and to train our technology team members. So the system should be up and operating by the time you come to church on Febru-ary 23rd. Not only will the sound quality change, but we will be completing another phase of updating the appearance of God’s worship space! As it is said, CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW! (P.S. and no more cords to trip over!)
Week of Compassion February 16th & 23rd
As the relief, refugee, and develop-
ment mission fund of the Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ) Week
of Compassion works with partners to alleviate suffering
right here in Oklahoma and throughout the world. Over
the years, several members of the NHCC family have re-
ceived assistance from Week of Compassion in times of
natural disaster. Your compassion, your gifts and your
commitment are needed to help change lives for the better.
The good works of Week of Compassion are done in the
name of Jesus Christ and on behalf of the Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ).

New Church Directory Coming Soon How many of you recognize faces but just can't put a name with the face? Or maybe you speak with someone weekly but you cannot remember their names? It happens to all of us at certain times. There is an easy solution to this issue. You need a church pictorial directory that lists members and guests by picture and by name. How do you receive a directory? Simply make a photo appointment and have your portrait made for the directory and you will receive a FREE 8x10 photo (no obligations) as well as a FREE di-rectory. Photography appointments are available on either Tuesday March 24th or Wednesday March 25th from 2 PM until 9 PM. If you are not available either of those dates, please let us know. There is a "wait list" being created. Appointments arealready being scheduled and slots are filling up quickly. Please make your photo session ap-pointment without delay. Appointments are being taken at the table in the church foyer before and after service. We want everyone to be part of the new directory. Please, don't let this unique opportunity pass you by.
We extend our Christian Sympathy to Richard
Reames and his family on the death of Richard’s wife Jan. Funeral service will be at New Hope Monday, February 17 at 11:00a.m.
Please keep Richard and his family in your prayers.
Thank You!

FIRST SUNDAY
MISSIONS
First Sunday Food Pantry can
do more! A new name for this
expanded ministry has been created and will be called First
Sunday Missions. More projects will be included in this pro-
gram: food pantries, homeless needs, missionaries around the
world, Crop Walk, and other missions identified by New
Hope. Cash donations are needed and food will no longer be
collected. This exciting new effort began on the First Sunday
in February. Watch future newsletters to see the new ways
New Hope is serving Jesus and His people.
