Brothers and Sisters,

Consider that Jesus invites each of us to "Come and See" as he did with those first disciples. Just as they went and spent the day with him, allowing them to know him better and love him more fully, so we are encouraged to do the same in response to his invitation to come and see what he is doing in our parish through the various ministries. Let's make the time to visit with him in the Gym after Mass and learn more about him and what he is doing. Perhaps in our hearts we will hear him also calling us to work with him in some ministry.

This encounter with Jesus will enrich us!

"Jesus said to the host who invited him,“When you hold a lunch or a dinner,do not invite your friends or your brothers

or your relatives or your wealthy neighbors, in case they may invite you back and you have repayment.Rather, when you hold a banquet,invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you.For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

We are the poor, the crippled and blame, broken sinners invited by Jesus to be enriched by him whom we cannot repay.

May the Lord bless our parish family and all the work we do for him.

Hermanos y hermanas,

Tengamos en cuenta que Jesús invita a cada uno de nosotros "Ven y ve" como lo hizo con los primeros discípulos. Del mismo modo que ellos fueron y pasaron el día con él, lo que les permite lo conocen mejor y lo aman más a fondo, por lo que se les anima a hacer lo mismo en respuesta a su invitación a venir y ver lo que está haciendo en nuestra parroquia a través de los distintos ministerios. Vamos a hacer el tiempo para visitar con él en el gimnasio después de la misa y aprender más acerca de él y lo que está haciendo. Tal vez en nuestros corazones vamos a oírlo también nos llama a trabajar con él en algún ministerio.

Este encuentro con Jesús nos va a enriquecer!

"Jesús le dijo al anfitrión, que lo invitó,"Cuando se mantiene un almuerzo o

una cena, no llames a tus amigos o sus hermanos o sus familiares o sus vecinos ricos, en caso de que podrán invitar de vuelta y tiene devolución. Más bien, cuando des un banquete, llama a los pobres, a los lisiados, a los cojos, los ciegos; bendecido de hecho va a ser a causa de su incapacidad para pagar usted. Para usted será recompensado en la resurrección de los justos ".

Somos los pobres, a los inválidos y culpar, pecadores rotos invitados por Jesús a ser enriquecidas por lo que no podemos pagar.

22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Today we continue last week’s focus on inclusion in God’s kingdom. The difference today is that now we are the ones being called upon to be inclusive. Whom do we welcome at the banquet table of our lives? May our prayer today be for the grace of humility so that we can welcome any and all whom Christ himself would welcome.

Featured Ministries

Fall is here, school is back in session and so is our Children’s Choir. Your child can benefit in many ways by singing in a children’s choir. Not only does it help to strengthen their basic musical skills, but they will also benefit by actively participating in the liturgy which helps strengthen their own faith. The Children’s Choir is open to all 2nd – 8th grade children. They will be singing at our Monthly Children’s Liturgies beginning October 2nd at the 10:00 a.m. Mass. Monthly rehearsals will be held Thursday afternoons from 4:00 -5:30 p.m. in the St. Cecilia Room. Our first rehearsal will be on Thursday, September 15th. Because of the strong musical foundation built by singing in an ensemble, they often become great musicians in other ensembles such as school band or choir. By participating they become active members of the

Body of Christ and great witnesses to others their own age. To register please contact Chris Nolin at cnolin@shconroe.org. We will also be registering this weekend at the Ministry Fair in the Gym.

Domingo 22 del Tiempo Ordinario

Hoy continuamos con la inclusión en el Reino de Dios en lo cual nos veníamos concentrando desde la semana pasada. La diferencia es que ahora somos nosotros los llamados a ser inclusivos. ¿A quiénes permito tener acceso a la mesa del banquete de mi vida? Que nuestra oración de hoy pida la gracia de la humildad, para que acojamos a todas y cada una de las personas que el mismo Cristo acoge.

Ministerio de la Semana

El Ministerio de Arte & Ambiente es responsable de la decoracion, preparacion y mantenimiento de nuestro espacio de adoracion por todo el año liturgico. El trabajo del ministerio tiene lugar principalmente durante las diferentes estaciones (Adviento, Navidad, Cuaresma, Pascua) cuando la Iglesia es transformada refleja el animo de estado de temporada. QUINCEAÑERA

The duration of the preparation is one year. Every candidate must be enrolled in the youth program Edge (grades 7 and 8) or in Lifeteen (High School) and have a minimum attendance of six months while actively participating. Before you start planning the celebration of the Quinceañera, please make sure your daughter has attended or is participating in the program. RCIA- RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTSRCIA is a process for adults seeking the living God by faith, through conversion and preparation for the sacraments of baptism, communion and confirmation along with the rites belonging to the catechumenate. RCIA is also for baptized Christians who seek to enter into communion with the Catholic faith by professing the faith and receiving the sacraments of communion and confirmation. That through our generous giving, we can help those in need share in the gifts that God has bestowed on us.

“Rather, when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you." Luke 14:13 -14

We have a difficult time with the concept of giving without expecting something in return. Even when we give to charity we often want something in return – a raffle ticket, a dinner, or a chance to play golf. Yet, as Christian stewards we need to remember that the true reward for our giving awaits us in heaven.

St. Vincent de PaulAugust 28 - Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary TimeLuke tells us in today's gospel, "...when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind; blessed will you be because of their inability to repay you." With humility we at St. Vincent de Paul welcome to our door those in need of the basics of everyday life. This is what St. Vincent asks of his followers: to be humble, loving servants of the poor.

During the month of July, 2016, through your gifts, The Society of St. Vincent de

Paul gave out 38,220 pounds of food with an equivalent value of $65,738; $4,781 for utility bills to prevent disconnection; $7,698 for rent to prevent eviction or homelessness; $2,229 for prescriptions for those with no insurance. The Clothes Closet provided vouchers for clothing with an equivalent value of $15,554. May God bless you for your generosity!

Would you like to serve the poor with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at Sacred Heart but work during the week? St. Vincent de Paul is now open on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon to provide

food and clothes to those we serve who are unable to get to us during the week. We are in need of volunteers to work the reception desk, to hand out groceries, to provide assistance in the Clothes Closet and interview those the Lord sends to us. We especially are in need of men to hand out groceries. You can schedule to work once a week, twice a month, or whatever fits your schedule. Lucas nos dice en el Evangelio de hoy, "... cuando des un banquete, invita a los pobres, a los lisiados, a los cojos ya los ciegos;. Bendita le sea debido a su incapacidad para pagar usted" Con la humildad que en San Vicente de Paul bienvenida a nuestra puerta a los necesitados de los conceptos básicos de la vida cotidiana. Esto es lo que San Vicente pide a sus seguidores: ser humildes servidores, amante de los pobres.

Durante el mes de julio de 2016, a través de

sus dones, La Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul hizo entrega de 38,220 libras de alimentos con un valor equivalente a $ 65,738; $ 4,781 por facturas de servicios públicos para evitar la desconexión; $ 7,698 en renta para evitar el desalojo o la falta de vivienda; $ 2,229 para las prescripciones para aquellos que no tienen seguro. El armario de ropas proporcionan vales para ropa con un valor equivalente de $ 15,554. Que Dios los bendiga por su generosidad!
