Welcome to "About Cork", a disability access guide toCork City Centre. This is the first access guideprepared by the City Council and indicates ourongoing commitment to improving access for peoplewith disabilities. This guide also forms part of theCity Councils contribution to the European Year forPeople with Disabilities.

This guide is intended forpeople with disabilities visitingCork and contains informationon a selection of accessiblevenues in Cork City Centre.
The Guide was compiled withthe assistance of aconsultative group made up ofa range of organisationsrepresenting people withdisabilities including - CheshireHomes, Enable Ireland, CorkDisability Interest Group, CorkAccess Group, CorkAssociation for the Deaf, IrishGuide Dogs for the Blind,Centre for Independent Livingand People with DisabilitiesIreland. Each of the venueslisted was visited by a personwith a disability to assess theirlevels of accessibility and toconsider their suitability forinclusion in this brochure. Thecontent of the guide thereforereflects the accessexperiences of people withdisabilities.
