New British Cinema and Its Audience London 2012: My idea is a group of friends make their way to the Olympic stadium whilst one of them is filming their whole experience on a handheld camera. Their there to watch the 100 metres final, but before the race starts there is an explosion in the opposite stand. Everyone in the stand starts to panic and run inside whilst the group are stuck in the stands with everyone running around panicking and trampling each other down. Some terrorists storm into the stadium and start killing everyone. The group manage to get inside the stadium but they get trapped inside as the terrorists get control of the stadium. The group also got separated into 2 in the whole confusion. They hide inside a toilet as a group of terrorist go’s by. One of them goes into the toilet to check if anyone is hiding inside. The group manage to stay quiet and the terrorists do not find them. The group sneak around the back of them and go down the fire exit. At the bottom they hear voices from other terrorists and are spotted by them. The group run back up the stairs and onto the main track. As the terrorists take aim and get ready to shoot, a helicopter above the group shoots the terrorists down. Soldiers come down from the helicopters and storm the stadium looking for the other terrorists. The group follow the soldiers so they can find their friends. Inside the stadium the soldiers end up in a stand off with the terrorists but the soldiers overpower them and take them down. They find one of their friends on the floor and she had been shot. They carry her outside onto the Olympic village where there are ambulances and police. The whole film will be shown through the hand held camera that the group have with them.

FundingI will be pitching my idea to the BFI to fund my film. They are the UK film council and every year they have £15 million to invest across the development, production and completion of feature films. They also have £4 million a year to spend on the distribution of film.

To be funded by the BFI will mean that I have to repay the BFI and provide them with a profit participation from the films that go into production.

The BFI also fund prints and advertising. This means I would have the money to distribute the film to cinemas all over London. It would also mean that there would be enough money to advertise the film however I want to.

Genre and Target AudienceThe genre of my film is thriller, drama and action. The target audience for my film is thrill seekers, over 15 year olds. I aim to achieve this by using British actors in my film that British people know about. I also plan to use some known music artists to build up the reputation of the film. That way I will also be able to use the artists tracks in my film, to help promote it in the TV advert. As the Olympics are this year, and every person in the world knows about it, and they are in Britain, it will attract my target audience the most, which is the British public. By having a famous artist in a film, it will attract a lot of media attention and British attention.

Director and ProducersDirector: Danny Boyle

I believe that Danny Boyle would be interested in working on my film as it is a British movie and he has made British movies before. He has worked on successful films in the British film industry and I believe that he would be the perfect director for my film. He has directed 28 Days Later, which is similar to my film idea. Its similar as it is based in London and there is a lot of violence and gore. I would like a British director as my film is meant to be aimed at British teens, and Danny Boyle is very popular in Britain especially for his films 28 Days Later and Slumdog millionaire which is famous worldwide. He is also the Artistic Director for the 2012 Olympic games opening ceremony. This would definitely make him more interested in being involved with my film as he would want to be even more involved with things to do with the Olympics.

Producer: Nira Park

I believe that Nira Park would like to work on my film as she produced a film full of young and up and coming actors which was successful. I believe that she would be interested in being involved in a film with up and coming actors. There are a lot of young actors trying to break into the industry who need a helping hand and Nira seems to be interested in the young actors.

Producer: Christian Colson

I believe that Christian Colson would like to work on my film as he has produced a couple of Danny Boyles films and they have been very successful. He has received numerous awards for his films with Danny Boyle and they would be highly interested in working together. If I could get Danny Boyle or Christian Colson on the film, then the other one would definitely follow.

ActorsPatrick Okogwu (Tinie Tempah):Tinie Tempah is a world wide famous artist who I would want to work on the film. Music artists have been on the up in the film industry, and they bring a lot more viewers to the film. He would be one of the main characters in the film. He would be interested in working on the film as he might want to become a film star and such big names such as Danny Boyle would make him more interested.

Jaime Winstone:Jaime Winstone has appeared in a lot of British films, and a lot of successful ones. She would be interested in appearing in the film as it could be a career changing film. It could be very successful and mean she appears in a lot of new big films.

Ashley Walters:Ashley Walters has appeared in a lot of films and programmes aimed at young British people. He would be great for my film as he would attract the young viewers to watch the film. He is also a very good actor who is progressing in the film industry very quickly.

Adam Deacon:Adam Deacon has won a BAFTA rising star award. He would be a perfect addition to my film as he is such a good actor. He is very well known by teenagers in the UK and would attract a lot of viewers.

AdvertisingWith such a big line up of actors and directors, advertising this film will be much easier. I would first start off with getting an advert on TV showing all the actors and making sure the audience know who the director is. The film would have to be advertised after 9pm but a different version of the advert could be made without all the violence so it can be shown before 9pm. I will also advertise on YouTube and on the side of buses. Millions of people go onto YouTube everyday, and millions of people go past buses everyday.

The best way for me to advertise the film would be by getting the actors and director to go on talk shows to promote the film. Talk shows like Graham Norton and Alan Carr Chatty Man are a great way to promote films as so many people watch them. Getting the whole cast on the talk shows would show how great everyone works together and how great the film is.

The last way I would advertise the film would be on Facebook and Twitter. Millions of people log in to Facebook and Twitter everyday. If the actors in the film tweeted at least once a day about the film, thousands of people would see it, and also tweet about it.

Film DistributionAs the film has such a famous line up of actors and director, I would hope it to be distributed across big cinema chains and not just independent cinemas. I would want the film to be shown at the Odeon and the Vue. I would also want to have the film premiere in Leicester Square.

The release of the film would have to be after the Olympic games as such a film would cause huge controversy. The film would be released right after the Paralympic games have finished. If the film is released while the games are on it would scare a lot of people out of the games and Britain need the tourists to help boost the economy. The film would be released on a Wednesday because of orange Wednesdays which attracts a lot more people to the cinema, therefore having a good first day at the box office.
