As you read this, we will have just returned from our Missions Trip to the Do- minican Republic, of which we shared about this past Sunday. And among all of the things from our recent trip for which we are truly thankful are the incredible “Answers To Prayer”: The Financial Provisions for this tripIt is so good to be a part of such a generous church family! That all of the necessary paperwork (Passports) arrived in time and that we were able to re-schedule all flights by one day to allow for the snow delay we had. For the responsiveness of the people to our witness, sharing, labor, and the gospel. We participated in Morning Worship, shared as a part of a two day Open Air Crusade, and shared the Jesus Film in 12 homesall of whom requested follow up Bible Studies led by the Church Planters we were working with in Dominican Republic. For the incredible desire of the people in Innocensia for a church of their own, even ready to protest the government to get it built! As I shared Sunday the gov- ernment ended up donating land free of charge for it to be built in March. Ended up building a 24 X 16 foot building to help become a staging area for future building and ministry efforts as well as assist the Pastor of New Jerusalem Church. Returning with a commitment to help build another church as land becomes available this year….I urge you to pray about being a part of that future effort! A further “Answer To Prayer” is that this coming Sunday as a church we will have an opportunity to vote on calling Paul Herndon to become our New Student Minister. You can read some about him in this newsletter as well as the schedule for this coming Sunday as we want as many as possible to have a chance to meet him….I was asked if it was too quick to consider our next Staff Member? The answer is “No”, if it is God’s leading and provision in answer to the prayers of His people! As we prepare to gather together this coming Sunday to study God’s Word and Worship together as a Church Family, all I can say is Keep On Praying!! Your Pastor & Friend,

“Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek, and you shall find;

knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Matthew 7:7

“Answered Prayers aren’t merely highly unlikely coincidences. They are the finger prints

of a living, loving God who invites all of us to draw closer to Him.” (p. 4, The Battle Plan

For Prayer). As you read this, we will have just returned from our Missions Trip to the Do-

minican Republic, of which we shared about this past Sunday. And among all of the things

from our recent trip for which we are truly thankful are the incredible “Answers To Prayer”:

The Financial Provisions for this trip—It is so good to be a part of such a generous

church family!

That all of the necessary paperwork (Passports) arrived in time and that we were

able to re-schedule all flights by one day to allow for the snow delay we had.

For the responsiveness of the people to our witness, sharing, labor, and the gospel.

We participated in Morning Worship, shared as a part of a two day Open Air Crusade,

and shared the Jesus Film in 12 homes—all of whom requested follow up Bible

Studies led by the Church Planters we were working with in Dominican Republic.

For the incredible desire of the people in Innocensia for a church of their own,

even ready to protest the government to get it built! As I shared Sunday the gov-

ernment ended up donating land free of charge for it to be built in March.

Ended up building a 24 X 16 foot building to help become a staging area for future

building and ministry efforts as well as assist the Pastor of New Jerusalem Church.

Returning with a commitment to help build another church as land becomes available

this year….I urge you to pray about being a part of that future effort!

A further “Answer To Prayer” is that this coming Sunday as a church we will have an

opportunity to vote on calling Paul Herndon to become our New Student Minister. You can

read some about him in this newsletter as well as the schedule for this coming Sunday as

we want as many as possible to have a chance to meet him….I was asked if it was too quick

to consider our next Staff Member? The answer is “No”, if it is God’s leading and provision

in answer to the prayers of His people!

As we prepare to gather together this coming Sunday to study God’s Word and Worship

together as a Church Family, all I can say is Keep On Praying!!

Just Passing Notes

Have you ever thought about the testimony of Enoch? You remember him, he is mentioned in a genealogy in Genesis and then again in Hebrews. Though, there is not much about him, there is one outstanding fact about him and God thought it important enough to record it in His Word for all generations to read. Are you ready for this? Heb 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. That’s it! Wow, what a testimony. Imagine for a moment that you lived back in that era. Perhaps you knew Enoch by association and you knew that he spent his time with God. Now, imagine this: one day you realize that he is missing. You look for him; you check the hospitals, the obituaries; he is simply not here. Then you hear that one day he was walking with God and kept on walking until he arrived in God’s house. Enoch was so dedicated to God that maybe God just said: “we are closer to my house than yours; let’s just go on to My house.” The community is not really that surprised, because they knew his testimony: he pleased God. I wonder what they talked about. Maybe he just thanked God for the benefits around him and all that God had provided. Maybe he just thanked him for the strength God gave him to get through each day. Enoch just depended solely on God. As John said: John 1:16 “And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace”. Enoch knew of that fullness and he dwelt in it. He knew the fullness of His comfort, His power, His presence and His love. Enoch knew that best way to please the Father was to depend fully on Him. And whether we realize it or not, that fullness is available to all God’s children. John said, “and of His fullness have all we receive”. Underline all. Paul tells us that the fullness of the Godhead was in Jesus. Think about that. Nothing was left out in Jesus and nothing is left out for us. Listen: it really does please Him for us to totally rely on Him. We do have the fullness of His comfort in the midst of our affliction. We have the fullness of His strength in our weakness. We have the fullness of His embrace in the midst of out tempta-tions. We have the joy of His strength and presence constantly. We have it all!!! Why, then, do we seek the pleasure and comforts of the world over Him? For what it’s worth, if my testimony can be like that of Enoch, it will be enough. If we please God here with that kind of testi-mony, then imagine the welcome we will receive: “welcome home child; well done thou good and faithful servant. You’ve been faithful over a few things, enter in and rule over many.” …….See you Sunday……just passing a few notes…..jp
