ONCE UPON A TIME……
There was a group of five friends.Their names were Ana, Andreia, Carina, Mariana and Raquel!
They attended José Régio School, in Portalegre, a small city in the south of Portugal. They attended the 8th grade and they were 13 and 14 years old.
Mariana was very impulsive.
Ana was a very shy girl.
Andreia was the most sociable.
Raquel was very very persistent.
Carina was the most playful one.
Despite their differences, they were all each others’ best friend and they had a commom concern…
… their school trip!
They were planning on going on a five day trip at the end of the school year… and … well…… SOME OF THEIR COLLEAGUES WOULDN’T GO, because their parents couldn’t afford it.
The trip was very
expensive
What can we do?I don’t know but we just HAVE to do something.
Yes, everyone wants to go. It’s not fair if some can’t go!
Let’s think about it, and tomorrow after our lessons we’ll discuss it and find a solution.
On the next day, they were very excited. They all had an idea to share. So… after their lessons, they met…
Well, I thought about it and I think we have to do something to earn enough money to…
… to pay the tickets of those who can’t afford it. I had the same though!
That is a great idea, superb!
We could use the school resources…
What about the school’s enclosure, we could use it…
Yes, yes… we could grow…
… A VEGETABLE GARDEN
They had a long discussion, it took all afternoon! But at the end they had everything planned.
bla, blabla, bla, bla

All their colleagues loved the idea and were longing for starting their project, so with their Science teacher’s help they started their vegetable garden.
On the next day all class was very excited.
They decided to plant all sort of vegetable: carrots, onions, lettuce, cabbages, mint, parsley, coriander… and the best of all strawberries
Now it’s your turn…
