A note from our Executive Director/CEO...
Cedar Hill Chamber Community,
I sit here just before my farewell party and it’s diffi-
cult to find the words to write.
My family and I came here in the fall of 1998 to open
the Chick-fil-A because my mom felt it was where the
Lord wanted us. I was working the drive thru at
lunch when Sheri Borth asked me if I wanted to
serve on the Chamber Board of Directors. Honestly,
I had to ask her what exactly that meant. I began my
service in 1999 and volunteered on events and com-
mittees and really began to love the “Chamber World.” I remember an-
swering one of those security questions, “What is your dream job?” My
answer was Chamber, never thinking that I would leave a 13 year career
with Chick-fil-A that I absolutely loved! Until…..Shelia Hood and Dr.
Kevin Fegan got a hold of me and said I had to do this!
As my mom felt when we moved here, I also knew it was the Lord telling
me it was where I was needed. I consider it an honor to have served the
business community and citizens. The decision to leave after 7 ½ years in
this position, and over 18 years as an active part of this community, was
not made lightly. I love the people of this organization and the communi-
ty of Cedar Hill. I firmly believe that this next chapter in my life, as the
previous ones, is authored by God and I can’t wait to read it!
Sincerely,
Amanda Skinner, IOM
