Sam Lindsey slotted home from midfield to give NAM a 1-0 lead, Hunt & Palmer levelling up very shortly. NEW CONTRACTS AND MORE OFFICES FOR NETWORK CARGO SYSTEMSNetwork Cargo Systems (NCS) continues to win new airline contracts, open more offices and is now focusing on South East Asia. To meet the demands of a growing market place, NCS is expanding its network with new offices already open in Hong Kong, one in Vietnam underway and a third planned in Thailand for 2018.

With an increase in revenue of 17% in the Caribbean, NCS has also strengthened its presence in the Dominican Republic taking on more sales staff.

Current carriers in Canada include Air New Zealand, Etihad Airways, Air Serbia, Allied, Philippine Airlines, Jet Airways, Sunwing, Finnair and Air Malta.

Howard Jones, President, says, “Where we are bringing value and where our focus lies are on developing strong relationships with our customers.

“We have recently signed new contracts with a range of airlines. We’re now feeding into five flights a week departing from

JFK with Air Serbia; two flights a week departing from Montréal with Tunis Air to major destinations including Tunis, Algiers, Istanbul, Jeddah, Nouakchott, Dakar, Bamako, Niamey and Abidjan; and in June, we took over operations of Air New Zealand in JFK for North Eastern USA.

NCS has also added new routes to the Middle East and India with Etihad Cargo and Jet Airways swapping from a narrow-body to a larger capacity wide-body aircraft.

Jones adds, “There are a lot of opportunities out there for us and we are seeing some major success. Shipping fruit like cherries forms a major part of our business from June to August, and this year we’ve seen an increase of 14% in this area.

“Actual tonnage during January to July, 2017, compared to the same months in 2016 is up over 20%. And our forecast for 2017 is also up 23%.”

Each enquiry is dealt with, and responded to, in the shortest possible time and supported by our specialised loadmasters who are called upon to carry out load studies; adding value and ensuring all cargo is processed quickly and with care.

Although NAM is well known for its expertise in the African market, charter flights operate on a worldwide basis. enables us to provide a fast and economical response, supporting those in need.

EMERGENCY RELIEF FLIGHT TO HAITIDuring October 2016, NAM operated a short-notice relief flight from Vatry, France, to Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The NAM-managed B747-400F departed Vatry with a full load of relief goods for the people affected by the devastating effects of Hurricane Matthew.

NAM Commercial Manager, Sam Lindsey, set up the charter working closely with our Operations team immediately securing permits, crews and handling.

“This is a good example of our experienced commercial and operations teams working over the weekend to make this flight happen, delivering much needed relief to the people of Haiti,” said Andy Walters, NAM’s Commercial Director.

HUMANITARIAN SUPPLIES TO MADAGASCAR AND SOMALIAMore recently, NAM operated two flights from their European hub, Liege, to East Africa.

The first, to Antananarivo, Madagascar, was one of NAM’s Western Global MD11Fs carrying 80,000 kilos of urgently required medical kits, water containers and plastic tarpaulins following deadly cyclone “Enawo”—the strongest cyclone to hit Madagascar in 13 years—with winds of over 225 km/h and equal to a category 4 hurricane.

The second operated the following day with NAM’s B747-400F to Nairobi in support of the relief effort in Somalia. The enquiry was initially 48,000kgs; suitable for a part load on one of NAM’s MD11Fs. However, as the requirement for aid increased, the load soon needed a full B747-400F. The cargo consisted of medicines urgently required in Somalia. NAM’s office in Nairobi liaised locally with the aid agencies to ensure all cargo was offloaded and cleared through the warehouse for loading onto the awaiting relief trucks.

Our experienced Charter Team is available 24/7 for all types of charter enquiries.
