2021 BOB PETERSON MEMORIAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS SCHOLARSHIPJames Valley Telecommunications will be awarding three $2,000 scholarships this school year to area seniors whose parents or legal guardians are members of the cooperative.

Scholarship applications have been forwarded to the guidance counselors at area schools. Applications are also available online at www.jamesvalley.com.

The deadline for returning an application to James Valley Telecommunication’s office is February 26, 2021. All

applications must be received in the office by that date to be considered.

Seniors must be attending an accredited college, university or vocational school in South Dakota in the fall of 2021. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. As part of the application process, all applicants must submit a short essay of 400 words or less on the topic, “How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected learning during your senior year?”

JVT members can also apply for the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) scholarship. Requirements and application instructions are available at frs.org starting January 1, 2021.

HBO MAXWe’re excited to announce the streaming service HBO Max is now included with an HBO subscription! Cable TV customers that subscribe to HBO can stream HBO Max at no additional charge.

HBO Max offers traditional HBO programming as well as original HBO Max programming and new feature films.

To start streaming, you must first set up an account at wtve.net using your JVT account number and selecting NVC as your provider from the drop down options.

Once logged in, select HBO Max from the menu and proceed to sign in to that site using your WTVE credentials. You can then set up an HBO Max account and add up to 4 additional users. If you have any questions or want to add HBO, please call us at 397-2323.

Please take a moment now to check your listing in the 2020 directory. If you would like any additions or changes to your existing listing in the white pages, please call 611 to make sure these changes are incorporated in the next phone book.

You may want to consider adding information such as a PO Box, an email address or a cell phone number. There is no charge to list a PO Box in the same community as your 911 address. If you have a cell phone from James Valley Telecommunications, you can also list your cell number at no charge.

Additional line listings (email addresses, non-James Valley Telecommunications cell phones, lake cabins, etc.) are $1.00 per month. There is a one-time $10.00 fee to change your current listing.

Yellow Page Sales

Melissa Schwartz, an official JVT phone directory sales representative of Pinnacle Marketing Group, will begin contacting businesses in January about their advertising for the June 2021 phone book.

All members are encouraged to check their white and yellow page listings and call our office at 611 if you would like any changes made.
