FIPA Briefly• Nationwide independent society for ICT professionals• About 15.000 person members and about
500 company and organization members• 28 member associations:
- 17 local associations- 8 national professional theme associations- 3 student associations- 20 special interest groups (SIGs)
• Established in 1953 as the Finnish Punched Card Society

Mission• FIPA’s role is to improve ICT skills among its
members and to improve the reputation of the ICT cluster in Finland
• Via information and research FIPA strives to influence and help to further develop the competitiveness of the professional ICT cluster in Finland
Tasks: EducationMost important task is to keep the professional knowledge of our members on a good level.During 2012 more than 100 training and certification occasions were held. Totally more than 1000 persons participated.
The topics included for example:• ECQA certification program - Innovation Manager - SPI Manager - Scope Manager• ITIL, COBIT and PRINCE training• Data Privacy in IT Projects• Finnish Testing Board Certification• etc.
Tasks: Analyses & ReportsFIPA’s statements are based on concrete facts collected via various different investigations and analyses.
