The Kingdom of the Netherlands, a country of North-West Europe fronting on the North Sea and bordered by Belgium and Germany. It has an area of 16,039 sq. miles. The population is 16.8 million as of 2013. The capital is Amsterdam. The leading industries are textiles, shipbuilding and chemicals.

The Netherlands, or as some call it Holland, has never produced .22s, to best of our knowledge. The Dutch military has required .22s for their military training needs. These requirements have been contracted out to manufacturers in other countries. These has created some interesting boxes.

LR-l .22 LONG RIFLE. Produced by R.W.S. of Germany. White box with black printing. Large one-piece box with end flaps. No product code. “R-8” h/s on a copper case. Lead bullet. This box probably produced during WW II.

LR-2 .22 LONG RIFLE. Produced by Winchester of the U.S.A. This is a standard 1930s or 1940s style box with a over-label. Blue label with black printing. "H-10" h/s on a nickel washed brass case. Copper washed lead bullet.

LR-3 .22 LONG RIFLE. "BALL, LONG". Produced by I.C.I. of England. White box with black printing. One-piece box with end flaps."IC-3" h/s on a brass case. Lead bullet.

LR-4 .22 LONG RIFLE. "BALL, LONG RIFLE". Manufactured by R.W.S. of Germany during the 1950s. This is a standard commercial box with a buff over-label with black printing.

LR-5 .22 LONG RIFLE. Produced by R.W.S. of Germany. White box. Kraft colored wrap-around end label with black printing. Large, one-piece box with end flaps. “R-8" h/s on a brass case. Lead bullet.

LR-6 .22 LONG RIFLE. This is the same box as LR-5 except a white wrap-around end label.

LR-7 .22 LONG RIFLE. Produced by R.W.S. of Germany white box. Yellow wrap-around end label with black printing. Large, one piece box with end flaps. Contents are unknown.

LR-8 .22 LONG RIFLE. Produced by R.W.S. of Germany. White box. Orange wrap-around end label with black printing. Large, one piece box with end flaps. “R-8” h/s on a nickel washed brass case. Lead bullets. Dates from 74-1 to 82-1 noted.
