Context: Food is vital to maintain life and health, therefore we must strive to protect it and make the best use of it. The world population is estimated to reach 9.6 billion people by 2050, demanding a significantly better food system management, especially related to food waste prevention and minimisation. 1.3 billion tonnes of food is wasted every year while almost 1 billion people go undernourished and another 1 billion hungry (UN). In addition, food waste is responsible for important global greenhouse gas emissions putting a significant burden on our environment year after year. An innovation that allows the prevention of food waste is important to the future of the industry as it could unlock the potential for the optimisation of food distribution worldwide when implemented together with broader responsible consumption policies and initiatives. Question:

• What means or tools you consider could propel consumer behavior change towards food waste prevention and minimisation, considering differences in background, age, experiences, believes, etc. And what type of incentives do you think would be required to enable that change?
