NEPALESE FOOD INDUSTRIES IN THE STATE OF COMPLETE CHAOS..........

The general problems that Nepalese industries facing are due to two majore reasons.

1) Intransic factors

2) Extransic factors.

Intransic factors

A) SWOT analysis of the industries are never done.

B) General objectives of industries are never set.

C) Specific objectives are never set.

D) Long term planning are not done.

E) Short term planning are not done to meet the general objectives.

F) No monitoring systems are set in place for business activity analysis in yearly, quarterly, monthly

and daily basis.

G) No budgeting are done with comparison of 4 years history, current year and projection .H) No strategy are set to increase turnover, margins.

I) No strategy are set to be competitive in term of

Pricing of products.

J) No strategy are set to reduce waste, shrinkage. .

K) No system in place for performance evaluation of investment such as money, material and

manpower.

L) No periodic inventory (stock take)

M) No preparation of ovearall statements such as income statements, stock rotation statements,

cashflow statements With ccomparison of history present year and projection for future ( yearly,

monthly and daily basis)O) No documentation of overall industrial activity in place such as

a) no scheduling of work activity.

b) no control check list of activity

* daily activity (QC , production)

*weekly activity (cleaning)

*monthly activity ( budgeting)

* quarterly activity (stock take)

* yearly activity ( short term planning, evaluation of previous and present year, forecast for next year

etc).

P) No system in place for control and monitoring of performance of resources.

Q) No systems in place for promotion and growth of individual and company itself on the basis of

performance.

R) No proper quality assurance systems in place for consumer safety as they are the source of

income for both company and workers

S) No environmental and social awareness.

T) Last and the most important

No proper benefit sharing system to the stakeholders of overall business such as company,

consumer, owners, shareholders, suppliers, workers, society and environment.

Our food industries needs proper leadership and where I am seeking my oppertunity to deal with

these issues. .
