Life’s Reflections Sis. Gloria Scott

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course…

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness. 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Sis. Gloria Scott was born in Aiken, SC on May 28, 1956 to Louise McCutcheon Scott and the late LD Scott. Gloria transitioned from her earthly home to the bosom of Jesus on Saturday, May 16, 2020, after a journey full of life, love and happiness with family and friends.

Gloria attended Church of Deliverance in Springfield, SC. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, and helping those in needs. Her specialty was cooking dressing and grilling on the BBQ grill. She enjoyed spoiling her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and made all of them feel like they were her favorite. She said if I had one wish, it would be to get up and cook for all of the kids one more time.

Gloria was preceded in death by her father LD Scott, her spouse, Venson Walker, Jr and one brother, Dwight Scott.

Left to cherish her memories are her mother, Louise McCutcheon Scott of Salley, SC; Her son, Dion Demiracle Walker of Salley, SC; Step-daughter, Shemeaca Shonta Walker of Lexington, SC; Two Step-sons, Retired Army Captain Venson Jermaine Walker of Florida and Retired Marine Staff Sergeant Taran Vashon (Milu) Walker of Lexington, SC; Adopted daughter, Jennifer Smith of Williston, SC; Three brothers, Artis (Fransena) McCutcheon of Oklahoma, Jimmy (Tannis) Scott and Ronald (Gladys) Scott all of Salley, SC; Five sisters, Phyllis (Pastor Johnnie Lee) Smith of North, SC, Linda (Charles) Corley, Aleta Brown, Melissa (Thaddeus)Tyler, Helena (Kevin) Jackson all of Salley, SC; Like a sister, Luemisher Tobin of Salley, SC; Uncle, Bobby Lee McCutcheon of North Carolina; Aunts, Pearl McCutcheon of Barnwell, SC and Verlivian Scott of New Jersey; Brother’s-in-law, Retired Petty Officer Jefferson (Cathy) Walker of Florida, Retired Colonel Clyde (Valeria) Walker of Louisiana and Jacob (Shirley) Walker of Williston, SC; Sister’s-in-law, Evelyn Scott of St Stephens, SC, Dorothy Williams of Columbia, SC, Lavern Casteal and Teresa Jamison both of Neeses, SC, and Blanche Walker of Salley, SC; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Gloria made a lasting impression on not just family members but all who were blessed to meet her. She will be truly missed by all. Sleep on Gloria, take your rest. We will always love you and miss you.
