Offered HTLS conductor including the core
should have been fully type tested and the test
should have been carried out in a reputed
independent Internationally Accredited
Laboratory. All the type tests should have been
carried out as specified in Vol-II Chapter V
Annexure A within the last 5 years. In case the
bidder does not have a type test of the offered size
of Conductor, type test of a higher sized HTLS
Conductor of the same technology can also be
accepted provided the bidder carries out type test
at its own cost for
the offered sized.
In order to decide higher size of conductor, kindly
confirm which one of criteria will be applicable: -
Case 1: - A conductor shall be considered of
higher size if cross-section area of conductor is

Case 2: - A conductor shall be considered of
higher size if diameter of core is more than 9.5mm
& overall diameter of conductor is more than
25mm as specified in Table 1.3 od Section VA
Volume – 2.
Case 3: - A conductor shall be considered of
higher size if diameter of core is less than 9.5mm
& stranded conductor diameter is more than
25mm.
Case 4: - A conductor shall be considered of
higher size if diameter of core is more than 9.5mm
& stranded conductor diameter is less than 25mm.
Case 5: - A conductor shall be considered of
higher size if it meets all the criteria mentioned
above.
2. Please refer Item No. 3 Clause (iv), 2.5 Subcontractors, Section 3,
Volume I
Offered core should have been fully type tested in reputed
independent accredited testing laboratory for the size offered. All the
type test should have been carried out as specified in Annexure A of
Vol-II, Chapter V.

Offered HTLS conductor including the core should have been fully
type tested and the test should have been carried out in a reputed

type test of the offered size of Conductor, type test of a higher sized
HTLS Conductor of the same technology can also be accepted
provided the bidder carries out type test at its own cost for the offered
sized.
4. In case the bidder does not have a type test of the offered size of core,
type test of any other size HTLS Core other than the offered size shall
not be considered for evaluation.

As per above NEA response, Tower Design is as
per Latest Edition. While Loading Trees furnished
as per IS :802 (part I-1995).
According to IS: 802 (Part – I:1995) for Security
Condition Wind load on Wire & Conductor
Tension is as per 32°C 100% (Full Wind) wind
Condition. But according to IS: 802 (Part –
I:2015) for Security Condition Wind load on Wire
& Conductor Tension is as per 32°C 75% wind
Condition.
Kindly Confirm, we have to adopt Loading Trees
Furnished in Specification for Tower Design and
Wind Pressure on tower to be 100% under
security condition
Please confirm.
Tower shall be Designed as per the Loading Trees furnished along with
the bidding document and as per IS :802 (part I-1995), i.e. for Security
Condition Wind load on Wire & Conductor Tension is as per 32°C
100% (Full Wind) Condition.
The Loading Tree Diagram provided along with the bid is in order.

The Soil Investigation is in the scope of the contractor and the actual
value as per Soil Investigation report shall be considered for civil design
during execution.
