LEONI PLUSLeoni plus is suitable for the long-term ventilation of very small preterm infants, neonates and children weighing up to 30 kg. In addition to the basic ventilation modes CPAP, IPPV/IMV, S-IPPV and SIMV, the device also features two PSV modes. Furthermore, the administered tidal volume can be limited using the volume limit function. In the assisted ventilation modes, a volume-controlled tidal volume guarantee is available.

The exact hot-wire flow sensor which can be positioned close to the patient allows automatic readjustment of trigger sensitivity relative to the patient’s tidal volume (VT trigger adaptation).

The extremely powerful, integrated high-frequency module Leoni HFO* functions according to the membrane principle, the frequency range is between 5 and 20 Hz and it can be used with patients weighing up to 12 kg. Amplitude control is regulated and compensates for any leaks or compliance changes in the control range.

The device is extremely easy and intuitive to control using either a 12” colour display or a control knob. To ensure optimum ergonomic adaptation to the space available in the ward, the display can be removed and attached directly to the thermotherapy device or, alternatively, to a ceiling fitting. All essential settings, measurements, alarm limits and graphic information, such as curves and loops, can be seen at a glance. The display can be configured by the user according to personal requirements. For example, the number of curves, loops and the measurements shown are freely selectable.

LEONI PLUS CLACLöwenstein Medical has developed a special algorithm for automatic oxygen control for preterm infants (CLAC: Closed-Loop Automatic Oxygen Control) which is integrated in the Leoni plus *.

The new CLAC function is available as an option for the automatic control of oxygen concentration in relation to the measured SpO2, integrated Masimo technology.

The entire system, including visualisation of the measured data and alarm settings, is controlled via the ventilator’s user interface. The user is able to determine the patient’s graphically displayed status at a glance. CLAC handles routine adaptation of the inspiratory oxygen in the respiratory gas for the clinician (FiO2) by continuously monitoring the patient’s needs and state and adapting the device settings accordingly. This, in turn, takes away the stress of routine duties from users. The automatic control function can be switched off at any time in order to control the oxygen content manually.

LEONI PLUS TRANSPORTPatient transport with HFO – not a problem with the new Leoni plus Transport.

The Leoni plus Transport expands your options for the transport of patients. The device has an integrated high-performance battery that enables up to 200 minutes of use in conventional ventilation modes and up to 60 minutes in HFO without an external power supply. The display can be specifically adapted to the requirements of the user thanks to the free selection of the number of curves and loops and displayed measurements. Leoni plus Transport has comprehensive ventilation modes: CPAP, IPPV/IMV, S-IPPV/SIMV and two PSV modes as well as NIV and HFO. Leoni plus Transport is approved for use for ground transport as well as transportation by helicopter and airplane.

VITAGUARD®

The VitaGuard® vital signs monitors continuously monitor the following physiological parameters: heart rate, respiration and oxygen saturation. Once an alarm limit is exceeded, VitaGuard® outputs an acoustic and optical alarm signal. For each alarm event, all the physiological data (waveforms and numerical values) and the current monitor settings are stored. The stored data can be subsequently evaluated directly on the monitor itself or on a standard PC using the VitaWin® evaluation software.

The two heart, respiration and oxygen monitors are ideal for use as outpatient monitoring systems given their compact size and light weight.
