The value proposition for the IDW is based on a recent study. With the manufacturers providing accurate and timely information to the IDW, order and error costs are reduced resulting in a direct benefit to the companys bottom line.

Annual cost savings for a distributor using the IDW is 0.6% of total sales and it is 1.4% of total sales for a manufacturer. Manufacturers reap a slightly higher cost savings percentage because they usually bear the burden of the PO error correction cost more than the distributor.
