About UsOur founder-directors formed Extremis
Technology to address one of the most
pressing problems of the modern age – the
plight of people rendered homeless by
natural disaster and conflict. The number
of people caught up in these tragic
circumstances defies our comprehension;
imagine the whole of Europe being
homeless. We believe change is best
created through economic stimulus, so we
have created a model that ensures 90% of
the wealth effect involves the communities
closest to the disasters.
We are an industry-accredited engineering
company who design and develop low-cost
folding shelters for multiple uses, worldwide.
Having established our IP, our trial
deployment in the Dominican Republic has
been hugely successful with the HuSh™ and
the original recipient families withstanding
the devastating hurricanes of 2016 and
2017. Using local experience and demand
provides data and informs our research and
continued innovation.
Our shelter range originates from the same
unique footprint and design. All our shelters
arrive to site in one piece and simply
unfold to provide robust accommodation
in minutes. No tools or skilled labour are
required. Our shelters have a lifespan
ranging from 5-12 years and may be
refolded, moved and redeployed elsewhere
throughout their lifetime.
We operate a licensing model so that our
shelters can be manufactured close to the
point of need, typically reducing labour and
materials costs, and minimising our carbon
footprint. We are now managing product
deployments around the world with a
growing family of licensees.

TOGETHERKEEPING FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES
” The last week we had a hurricane, the worst one in the last 10 years, with a lot of heavy rain and violent winds, and the shelters maintained, so kudos for that.”
Amalia De La Cruz Solís, Directora Regional Cibao, TECHO - República Dominicana
” Our HuSh™1 unit withstood monsoon conditions here in Mumbai for a seven day trial period and our customer was delighted with the results, which have facilitated a further order for us.”
Dhruv Sonkia, Green Brick Project (Pvt) Ltd. June 2017
