The TRU/BIE measurement collects counter data from the TRU/BIEequipment. The counters are signal quality counters (062000-062005).

The measurement gives information about transmission quality in usedPCM connection between a TRU/BIE and the BSC or anothertransmission equipment.

The measurement collects the counter data for each TRU/BIE.

The connection is unavailable when the bit error ratio (BER) in each second is worse than 1 * (1/1000) for a period of ten consecutive seconds. A new period of available time begins with the firstsecond of a period of ten consecutive seconds, each of which has a BER better than 1/1000.

NOTE! Degraded minutes is a G.821 counter and therefore a TRU type equipment does not give thiscounter.
