Ashton Ave Bridge closure The bridge will be closed to traffic in February and demolished from 23 February during a scheduled rail shutdown. The new bridge is due to be completed by September. Dogs die in hot cars Rangers and the RSPCA are reminding dog owners to leave their best friends at home on hot days. Since October, the RSPCA has had more than 80 reports of dogs left in parked cars on hot days. If you see a dog locked in a car in hot weather, note the vehicle’s registration and call the RSPCA on 1300 278 3589. Rangers may also be able to assist – call 9273 3500. Riverbank Grants Scheme: Point Resolution Reserve From February, the City of Nedlands (with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions’ Parks and Wildlife Service) will start a river foreshore restoration project at Point Resolution Reserve that will run until December. It involves stabilising and protecting existing vegetation, invasive weed control and revegetating degraded areas to increase biodiversity and improve habitat. Friends of Allen Park Come along and help the Friends of Allen Park with bush care work sessions every Tuesday from 9am-11am. Contact Lesley on 0431 728 230 for details. Friends of Shenton Bushland Volunteers are welcome to help with weed control, writing newsletters, planning and setting guided walks, maintaining the website, flora surveys, local school liaison, distributing newsletters or photographing fora and fauna. Dogs die in hot cars

Rangers and the RSPCA are reminding dog owners to leave their best friends at home on hot days. Since October, the RSPCA has had more than 80 reports of dogs left in parked cars on hot days. If you see a dog locked in a car in hot weather, note the vehicle’s registration and call the RSPCA on 1300 278 3589. Rangers may also be able to assist – call 9273 3500.

Riverbank Grants Scheme: Point Resolution Reserve

From February, the City of Nedlands (with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions’ Parks and Wildlife Service) will start a river foreshore restoration project at Point Resolution Reserve that will run until December. I t involves stabil ising and protecting existing vegetation, invasive weed control and revegetating degraded areas to increase biodiversity and improve habitat.

Friends of Allen Park

Come along and help the Friends of Allen Park with bush care work sessions every Tuesday from 9am-11am. Contact Lesley on 0431 728 230 for details.
