Hello Brothers & Sisters,
WOW!! Where did January go??? Seemed like just yesterday it was Thanksgiving and
now we're almost into February. When everyone told me your year will go by fast,
I didn't really believe them , but I sure am now.
A great big shout out to Kearney Aerie for hosting our January board meeting. Kim,
Kim and Red and all their crew did an amazing job making us feel welcomed and
treating us like a family. Thank you!! Congratulations goes out to Scott Gronewoller,
as he was installed as the state outside guard. He is from Kearny and we know he will
do an excellent job representing Nebraska.
The following week we traveled to York Aerie & Auxiliary for the Wild Game Feed. They
had a variety of wild game, I did sample a lot of different foods, some was good, others
I'm not sure. But I at least gave most of it a try. Elk meatloaf is pretty tasty. Kim and I
were in the company of PMSP Cris Henry, Past State Officer Dennis Lamb and PMSP
Rhonda Schaffer. York had a 50/50 and a raffle and raised $600 for the state charities.
If you ever get the chance to attend this event, I encourage you to do so! Thank you
York for your hospitality, I will be back to again to try some more wild game.
January 27th, found us in Papillion for a quick MINK meeting and a charity night
followed. For those of you who don't know we are celebrating MINK's 20th anniversary
and Nebraska is the HOST for this conference. If you are attending, please be prepared
to be asked to help with various things. MINK is April 13-15, 2018 in Omaha. Being this
is the 20th anniversary, it is a pretty big deal and Nebraska needs to rock it out of the
park. If you would like to help with anything please let me know and I will get you
hooked up.
For my Brothers and Sisters of Papillion #4029 you still have me at a loss for words and
that does not happen too often. They presented Nadean and I with a check for $4930
for our state charities. What an awesome job they do raising money for charity.
Thank you , thank you! (cont. on Page 7)

Greetings From Across the Pond Sisters.
I am writing to you from Denmark, home of my middle son Chris, his wife Catja and
my grandson Atlas. Atlas turned a year old on January 20th. It is cold and windy here,
but the grass is always green. I guess they are too close to the sea for the ground to
freeze.
I hope the new year is finding you all well, and excited about new possibilities for you
and for your auxiliaries! I hope you will all reflect on new ways to raise money for
your charities, and try a membership drive if you have not already done so.
Our North Platte sisters had a state charity fundraiser in January. They had a
triathlon, playing shuffleboard, pool and wii bowling. It was so much fun!!
We had 20 contestants, and over $800 dollars was raised!
It just goes to show you don't have to have an elaborate plan or a huge amount of
people to do great things. Mel and crew did an excellent job! State Worthy President
Hoyt and I had our official visit in Papillion on the 27th. They have been having
dinners throughout the eagle year for the State Charity. Hoyt and I were rendered
speechless, and that's not easy to do, when we were presented with a check for over
$4000 dollars.
It just goes to show you what a small, but dedicated group can accomplish!
It was truly inspiring.
I feel like the Eagles is another family for me. I hope you are welcoming your new
sisters as you would a new family member.
We can accomplish great things when we work together for the betterment of our
eagle family!
I truly believe "our future's so bright, we gotta wear shades!"
Your State Madam President,
Nadean R. Rhoads

Prospers!

Hello From the State Membership!
Gentleman, Winter is here and the snow has been blowing! I hope everyone is
keeping warm and signing up members! This time of year people are looking for
things to do inside so they don’t get cabin fever.
Has anyone done a soup and sandwich night for a membership drive yet?
Wow! I was just looking at the calendar and we are over ½ way throw this year
already, where has the year gone? By the way we have mailed out the first half of the

State Auxiliary Membership
So many events coming up in Eagle world, we hope you plan to attend. Not only do we
want to see all your beautiful faces, but we also want to see a new face or 2. This is a
great time to invite a friend, family member or colleague to join this wonderful
organization. We have activities from state tournaments, to conferences to State
Charity fundraisers to invite members to participate in. As I like to say…..We have
something for everyone!!!! We just need to get them there.
Membership is moving in a forward direction and we need you to keep signing up
those members. Remember the goal is to have at least one more member than you
started with at the beginning of the year. Net gain, Net gain, Net gain.
If you haven’t had a membership drive there is no time like the present. We need to
show off our Auxiliary homes and tell them our story. Our wonderful story of Home,
Country and God. It’s an ongoing story of lifting each other up and building strong
Aeries and Auxiliaries. No more just talking about it—let’s do this! Raising monies for
those less fortunate and supporting our numerous charities!
For those that are already members, please consider paying your dues early. There is
currently an “Early Bird” contest going on. If you pay your dues for 2018-2019 by March
26th your Aerie and Auxiliary will be entered into a drawing to win CASH! Pay early
and save your Auxiliary from sending out dues reminders and maybe win some cash!
Checkout the website and newsletter for the many upcoming events you don’t
want to miss!
Remember, you cannot stand in my shadow if you are my sun!

Lynn and Royann Hedell, Sue Marshall and everyone else you all are wonderful.
When I finally started to gain some of my words back, Lynn and Royann stole them
away again. Lynn's company made Nadean and I a custom made ribbon with puzzle
pieces (which represents breast cancer and autism) united together out of metal. Still
don't know what to say, only thank you so very much, it will be a great reminder of
my awesome year as President representing Nebraska.
Next month is a very busy month and I'm sure it will fly by. So until then,
KEEP THOSE SHADES ON AND SAVE SECOND BASE!!
Love to all and you all stay safe and warm.

History of Our Clubs
This is just a short reminder that I still need History Articles for the majority of our
Clubs across the State. We have had great interest in this section of the Newsletters
and I would like to see them continue to come in. We have a lot of fascinating history
in our state Aeries & Auxiliaries!
