02El madridismo del Siglo XXI mantiene con firmeza los principios

que han hecho grande a nuestro Club a lo largo de su historia. Pero, además, en los últimos años hemos incorporado la obse-

sión y la pasión por la solidaridad. El fútbol y el baloncesto pueden ser herramientas únicas de ayuda a los más débiles y desfavorecidos.

El Real Madrid debe tener muy presente su fuerza, su potencia y su capacidad para contribuir a un mundo más justo. Todos los madri-distas nos sentimos orgullosos de formar parte de un Club con 110 años de una leyenda plagada de triunfos, sacrificios, victorias, entrega y éxitos. Este año logramos dos nuevos títulos. Una liga de fútbol in-creíble y una Copa del Rey de baloncesto con un partido final prác-ticamente perfecto. El Real Madrid sigue provocando emociones y eso es fruto de un formidable trabajo en equipo y de ese conjunto de valores que permanecen presentes e inalterables.

Sin embargo, nuestros desafíos no sólo los afrontamos en los es-tadios o en los pabellones deportivos. Seguimos empeñados en un compromiso que debe ir más allá de cualquier frontera, y esta Memoria recoge el gigantesco trabajo y el esfuerzo incansable de nuestra Fundación. Nuestras escuelas sociodeportivas son ya más de 200, repartidas en más de 60 países. Los valores del deporte y del Real Madrid se transmiten ahora mismo a más de 40.000 niños, a los que intentamos mejorar sus condiciones de vida.

La Fundación canaliza la energía solidaria de este Club. La Fundación es buena parte del alma del Real Madrid y día a día trabaja sin des-canso sobre retos que pueden transformar la existencia de aquellos que sufren.

Somos conscientes de que las actuales dificultades, y los momentos difíciles que vivimos, golpean de una manera más cruel a quienes están más expuestos a la exclusión social. Los proyectos deben am-pliarse y fortalecerse. La Fundación Realmadrid está presente en hos-pitales, en centros penitenciarios, en las escuelas de integración so-cial, en actividades que ayudan a nuestros mayores y, por supuesto, a los más pequeños y vulnerables. Seguimos atravesando fronteras. Nuestra expansión solidaria llega a América, África, Oriente Próximo, Asia y Europa. El ya tradicional partido “Corazón Classic Match “Juntos por África”, en nuestro Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, simboliza este es-píritu contra la pobreza. Y el madridismo lo vive como una causa de la que tiene que formar parte cada año.

Esta Memoria es la demostración de que con voluntad se puede. Estas páginas nos muestran que ningún reto solidario debe consi-derarse inalcanzable en el Real Madrid.

The 21st century “madridismo” firmly keeps up the principles that have made our club a great one through history. In addition, during last years, we have added obsession and passion about

solidarity to those principles. Football and basketball can be unique tools to help the weakest and most disadvantaged people.

Real Madrid must bear in mind its strength, power and ability to contribute to live in a fairer world. All “madridistas” feel very proud of being part of a club which holds 110 years of a legend full of wins, sacrifice, victories, dedication and success. Last year, we had two more triumphs, the National Football League and the Basketball King’s Cup, winning a practically perfect final match. Real Madrid still causes excitement, and this is the offspring of a tremendous teamwork and a whole of values that are present and unchanging.

Nevertheless, our challenges are not only faced on grounds or fields. We are determined to get a commitment beyond any border, and this Report gathers our Foundation’s massive work and tireless efforts. We have over 200 social sports schools around 60 countries. Sports and Real Madrid values are currently passed on to 40,000 children, whose living conditions we are trying to improve.

The Foundation carries this club’s caring energy and it is a big part of the Real Madrid’s soul. Day by day, it constantly works on challenges that can change the lives of those who suffer.

We are aware of the current difficulties, and the hard moments we are going through more cruelly hit those more exposed to social exclusion. Projects must be extended and become stronger. The Realmadrid Foundation is present in hospitals, prisons and social integration schools, in activities that help the eldest people and, of course, the youngest and more vulnerable ones too. We keep on going through borders. Our caring expansion reaches America, Africa, the Near East, Asia and Europe. The traditional “Corazón Classic Match: Together for Africa”, in our Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, represents this spirit against poverty. “Madridismo” enjoys it as a cause they need to be part of every year.

This Report is the proof of the fact that using our will, we can achieve anything. These pages show there is not any caring challenge unattainable to Real Madrid.

Social sports schools



Tras década y media de actividad, las Escuelas Sociodeportivas de la Funda-ción Realmadrid se han consolidado

como herramientas óptimas para la forma-ción integral de personas a través de la prác-tica deportiva. Esfuerzo, disciplina, trabajo en equipo, solidaridad, igualdad, liderazgo, autonomía... La educación en valores del deporte convierte la actividad de la Funda-ción en un fenómeno educativo de primer nivel con la intención clara de crear hábitos sociodeportivos saludables y positivos, cola-borando así con las familias y la sociedad en la formación de las generaciones del futuro.

En la ciudad de Madrid, capital de España y testigo de la historia de nuestro club, la Fundación educa en los valores del deporte a través de la práctica del fútbol a niños y niñas de entre 5 y 17 años gracias a la cola-boración con el ayuntamiento de la capital y otras entidades en los distritos de Aluche, Hortaleza, Orcasur, Entrevías, Retiro, Villaver-de, Vicálvaro, Chamberí y Carabanchel.

En el resto de la Comunidad Autónoma, la Fundación cuenta con escuelas socio-deportivas de fútbol en los municipios de Alcobendas, Cerceda, Las Matas, Navas del

After a decade and a half, the social sports schools of the Realmadrid Foundation have established

themselves as a tool for giving people a complete education by playing sports. Effort, discipline, solidarity, equality, leadership, autonomy… Education in values makes the Foundation’s activity a first class educational phenomenon with the intention of creating healthy habits within the families and society in order to shape future generations. In Spain’s capital, Madrid, which has witnessed the history of this club, the Foundation educates in sports’ values by training children between 5 and 17 years of age in playing football. This has been made possible thanks to the capital’s city hall in collaboration with other entities in the districts of Aluche, Hortaleza, Orcasur, Entrevías, Retiro, Villaverde, Vicálvaro, Chamberí and Carabanchel.

Esta temporada se han unido tres nuevos proyectos en los munici-pios de San Fernando de Henares, escuela patrocinada por CLH y Nuevo Baztán, con el apoyo de ‘La Caixa’. Asimismo, coincidiendo con el final de la Liga, el 31 de mayo se firmó un acuerdo para inaugurar la temporada que viene una escuela en Majadahonda en colaboración con el ayuntamiento de la localidad y con el Gimnasio Fisico. De esta forma ya son 23 las escuelas sociodeporti-vas de la Fundación en la región, con más de 2.000 alumnos y alumnas atendidos.

A la lista de escuelas sociodeportivas fuera de Madrid –en Arroyo de la Luz (Cáce-res), Ledesma (Salamanca), Gran Canaria y Lanzarote (Canarias), Tarancón (Cuenca), Toledo, Ceuta, Navas del Marqués (Ávila), Cervera de Pisuerga (Palencia) y Guadalaja-ra– se han incorporado los centros en Baza (Granada) y Camas (Sevilla). Se trata de dos nuevas escuelas en colaboración con la Fundación Amparo Rubiales y con el patro-cinio de Caja Granada y Cajasol, respectiva-mente, que abren a nuestra obra social las puertas de Andalucía. En el mes de enero

The social sports schools outside Madrid are in: Arroyo de la Luz (Cáceres), Ledesma (Salamanca), Gran Canaria y Lanzarote (Canary Islands), Tarancón (Cuenca), Toledo, Ceuta, Navas del Marqués (Ávila), Cervera de Pisuerga (Palencia) and Guadalajara. However, two new schools have been added to this list: Baza (Granada) and Camas (Seville). These schools, in collaboration with the Amparo Rubiales Foundation and sponsored by Caja Granada and Caja Sol, respectively, allow the Foundation’s social work into the Community of Andalusia. En junio se firmó el convenio para la crea-ción de una escuela sociodeportiva de inte-gración en la Ciudad Autónoma de Melilla, que comenzará su actividad en la tempo-rada 2012-2013. De esta forma, ya son más de 1.000 los menores en riesgo de exclusión beneficiarios directos de las escuelas de in-tegración en España. El Área Social, pues, ha incrementado su actividad y presencia un 50 % en la temporada 2011-2012 en toda España, gracias al apoyo y colaboración de distintas entidades y particulares.

El 9 de junio se realizó el encuentro anual de escuelas nacionales de Lanzarote, Las Pal-mas, Arroyo de la Luz, Ledesma, Tarancón y Toledo. Más de 650 niños y niñas de entre 5 y 15 años se reunieron en unas jornadas que se completaron con la visita al Tour del Ber-nabéu y un torneo en la Ciudad Real Madrid.

More than 1,000 minors at risk of exclusion in Spain will directly benefit from the integration schools. In June, an agreement was signed for a new social sports school in the region of Melilla, which will start operating in season 2012-2013. With the support and collaboration of various entities and individuals, in season 2011-2012, the Social Area increased its activity by 50% in the whole country.

More than 650 children between 5 and 15 years of age from Lanzarote, Las Palmas, Arroyo de la Luz, Ledesma, Tarancón and Toledo attended the annual national schools meeting which took place on 9 June. Their day was completed with a guided tour in the Bernabéu football stadium and a football tournament in the Ciudad Real Madrid.

Continúan asimismo su actividad las escue-las en el resto de la región: Sek Ciudalcampo (San Sebastián de los Reyes) y Majadahonda (escuela adaptada para jóvenes con discapaci-dad intelectual). En Majadahonda, esta última temporada se ampliaron las actividades con la creación de un grupo más con niños y niñas de diferentes edades y discapacidades.

Más de 2.500 de los alumnos de las escue-las participaron un año más en el XI Torneo de fútbol y de baloncesto en la Ciudad Real Madrid en Valdebebas y en el Centro Dota-cional de Arganzuela, en los fines de semana de febrero a mayo de 2012.

This season’s social sports football and basketball schools have resulted in a growth of the Foundation’s activities in Spain. A total of 3,500 students attended, more than 1,000 of them were originally in danger of exclusion; 46 social sports schools took part and more than 100 professional coaches also attended, who were trained under the Realmadrid Foundation’s pioneering methodology: “They play, we teach” (“Ellos juegan, nosotros educamos”) and “Towards a real education: values and sport” (“Por una Educación REAL: Valores y Deporte”)

During the weekends of February to March 2012, more than 2,500 students from different schools attended the XI Football and Basketball Tournament in the Ciudad Real Madrid, in Valdebebas and in the Centro Dotacional Arganzuela.

La actividad de la Fundación Realmadrid en los centros penitenciarios de toda España contribuye a la reinserción so-

ciolaboral de los reclusos. Además de mejorar en la práctica del fútbol o del baloncesto, los internos adquieren valores que les serán útiles cuando regresen a la vida en sociedad. El año pasado, los reclusos del Centro Penitenciario de Soto del Real realizaron el curso de moni-tores de fútbol base. Los beneficiarios de este programa pudieron realizar el Tour del Berna-béu y jugar partidos amistosos con distintos colectivos. En 20 centros penitenciarios de todo el país, más de 1.800 reclusos se benefi-ciaron de esta iniciativa gracias al apoyo de la Obra social de Caja Madrid y la Fundación ACS.

The Realmadrid Foundation’s activity of teaching in prisons throughout Spain helps the prisoners’ social and work

rehabilitation. As well as improving their football or basketball skills, the prisoners acquire values that will help them in their future social life. Last year, inmates from the prison in Soto del Real took a football coaching course. The participants in this program were able to take a guided tour of the Bernabéu football stadium and play friendly matches with different groups. More than 1,800 inmates from 20 prisons across the country benefited from this initiative with the support of Caja Madrid benefit society and the ACS Foundation.

EscuElas EN cENtros dE acogida E iNtErNamiENto

Con el objetivo de no desatender a nin-gún menor en riesgo de exclusión, la Fundación Realmadrid ha continuado

con el desarrollo de las escuelas sociode-portivas en centros de acogida durante la temporada 2011-2012. El objetivo de estas escuelas es fomentar el deporte así como los valores inherentes a la práctica deportiva dentro de un marco de integración social. A las tres escuelas existentes en la Comuni-dad de Madrid –Picón de Jarama, Residencia Manzanares y Chamberí–, se han sumado dos más, una en Murcia y otra en Alicante, gracias a la colaboración de la Fundación Diagrama. En estas nuevas escuelas de inte-gración se atienden a más de 150 menores.

The Realmadrid Foundation’s priority during the 2011-2012 season is to not overlook any minor that could be at risk

of exclusion, this is why the development of social sports schools in foster homes have not stopped. The main aim of these schools is to promote sport and its values for social integration. The three existing schools in the Community of Madrid are: Picón de Jarama, Residencia Manzanares and Chamberí. However, two more schools have joined the program in Murcia and Alicante, serving more than 150 minors with the support of the Fundación Diagrama.



EscuElas EN hosPitalEs iNFaNtilEs

Crece el programa para menores hospi-talizados durante largas estancias. En el último curso se incorporaron a esta

iniciativa el Hospital de Montepríncipe –con la colaboración de la Fundación Hospital de Madrid– y el Hospital Severo Ochoa de Le-ganés –con la ayuda financiera del Centro Comercial Parquesur–. Ya estaban adheridos los centros hospitalarios 12 de Octubre, Gre-gorio Marañón, La Paz, Niño Jesús y Ramón y Cajal. Más de 300 niños y niñas ganan bien-estar y consiguen un clima de normalidad gracias al deporte.

El programa de mayores de la Fundación Realmadrid, que se desarrolla en cola-boración con la Comunidad de Madrid,

More than 300 children are able to improve their time in hospital through sport thanks to a program

developed to help children in long term hospitalization. Last year, the hospitals of Montepríncipe, in collaboration with the Fundación del Hospital de Madrid, and Severo Ochoa, Leganés, with the financial support of Parquesur Shopping Center, joined the program. The hospitals already part of this program were the hospitals 12 de Octubre, Gregorio Marañón, La Paz, Niño Jesús and Ramón y Cajal.

The Realmadrid Foundation’s Senior Program, which is developed in collaboration with the Community of

Madrid, helps 250 elderly people. Last year was The European Year of Active Aging, which

acuerdo con la Federación de Organizacio-nes a favor de Personas con Discapacidad Intelectual de Madrid (FEAPS) y con la Fun-dación Síndrome de Down Madrid. El obje-tivo es la creación de una escuela de fútbol y otra de baloncesto para alumnos con sín-drome de Down o trastornos de entorno autista (TGD-TEA). Mediante una adaptación curricular, esta escuela les introducirá en la práctica del fútbol y/o baloncesto, con el

The Realmadrid Foundation has signed an agreement with Madrid’s Federation of Organizations for People with

Intellectual Disabilities (FEAPS) and with Madrid’s Down Syndrome Foundation for the integration of minors with special needs. The aim is to create a football and basketball school for children with Down Syndrome or autism disorders (TGD-TEA), which, by doing a curriculum adaptation, will introduce them to playing football and/or basketball, in order for them to integrate in a regular social sport school that belongs to the Foundation.

La Fundación Realmadrid, socio promotor destacado, participó a través de partidos de exhibición de veteranos de fútbol y balon-cesto del Real Madrid.

Por otra parte, en abril se celebró el IV Campus Inclusivo de Baloncesto. Las jornadas, que tu-vieron el apoyo del Centro de Estudios sobre Deporte Inclusivo (CEDI) y la Fundación Sani-tas, arrancaron con la visita de los jugadores del Real Madrid de baloncesto Jaycee Carroll y Nikola Mirotic, que compartieron cancha con los participantes del campus.

For the second consecutive year, the II Inclusive Sport Week took place. It was promoted by the Sanitas Foundation and the Centre of Studies for Inclusive Sport, in collaboration with all the members of the Strategic Alliance for Inclusive Sport. The Realmadrid Foundation, an outstanding sponsor member, took part in exhibition matches of Real Madrid football and basketball veterans.

On the other hand, in April, the IV Inclusive Basketball Campus took place kicking off with a visit of the Real Madrid basketball players Jaycee Carroll and Nikola Mirotic, who played with the participants of the campus. This was made possible thanks to the support of the Center of Study on Inclusive Sport (CEDI) and the Sanitas Foundation.

Así, el equipo técnico de la Fundación cuenta mensualmente con un informe de los ob-jetivos generales y también específicos de cada escuela, en el cual se deben planificar unos contenidos independientes para cada grupo. Esto incluye, además, un informe in-dividual de cada alumno para evaluarlo en cinco bloques: educativo, social, físico-mo-triz, técnico-táctico y reglamentario. Com-plementariamente, durante el torneo de fútbol se ha realizado una clasificación pe-dagógica para medir los parámetros de los partidos y una clasificación educativa que

The football training program “They play, we teach” has ended this season with a close follow-up on the coaches known as

“Sequence of contents”. Thus, the Foundation’s technical team will receive a monthly report stating the general and specific aims of each school. This report will plan individual content for each group and will also include a report of each student, who will be evaluated by focusing on 5 aspects: educational, social, physical, tactical and regulational. However, during this season’s football tournament there were also other measures taken into account such as effort, punctuality, fair play and behavior in the stands.

El programa de formación de baloncesto ‘Por una Educación REAL: Valores y Deporte’, iniciado en la temporada 2008-2009, ha con-tinuado avanzando esta temporada con la inclusión definitiva en las escuelas de balon-cesto del programa ‘La Alineación de Valo-res’, para el cual se han incorporado dos nue-vos cuadernos didácticos específicos para el profesorado y el alumnado. Además, dentro de este programa de formación en valores, por segundo año consecutivo se ha llevado a cabo durante el torneo de baloncesto el programa ‘Tarjeta Blanca’, cuyo objetivo es fo-mentar en los alumnos un comportamiento

At this year’s tournament there were 308 white cards given and, during the closing ceremony, 3 teams and 5 players, which obtained the greatest number of white cards or presented exceptional behavior during the XI Tournament of Basketball Schools, received awards.

Por otro lado, con la idea de continuar la formación de nuestro profesorado, se desa-rrollaron las II Jornadas de Formación para Entrenadores/as de las Escuelas, en las cua-les el objetivo fundamental fue continuar avanzando en aspectos relacionados con la integración de los valores educativos en las sesiones de entrenamiento a nivel metodo-lógico, didáctico y eminentemente práctico.

Durante la temporada 2011-2012, la Fundación Realmadrid siguió apoyan-do la labor de las organizaciones Make

a Wish y Pequeño deseo. Gestionó las visitas de cerca de una treintena de niños y niñas enfermos de todo el mundo, ilusionados por conocer a sus ídolos. A destacar la invitación a la británica Elli Challis, mundialmente famosa por superar su severa discapacidad y jugar al fútbol con prótesis en sus extremidades inferiores. La Fundación Realmadrid también quiso que viniese a Madrid y conociese a su ídolo, Cristiano Ronaldo, el niño con el que la humanidad alcanzó la cota de los 6.000 mi-llones de habitantes, el bosnio Adnan Mevic.

Como cada Navidad, los jugadores de los primeros equipos de fútbol y baloncesto del Real Madrid visitaron en los principales hospitales de la capital a los niños ingresa-dos, a los que se repartieron regalos. En esas fechas también repartimos 4.500 juguetes a menores desfavorecidos, en el marco de la campaña ‘En Navidad: Ningún niño sin juguete’, de la Comunidad de Madrid y la Fundación Realmadrid.

Como cada temporada en fechas navide-ñas, la Fundación invitó el 23 de diciem-bre a miembros de la Fundación RAIS (Red de Apoyo a la Integración Sociolaboral) a jugar un partido de fútbol y otro de ba-loncesto, con entrenadores de las escuelas y con veteranos del Realmadrid. During the 2011-2012 season, the Realmadrid Foundation continued to support the work of organizations

such as “Make a Wish” and “Pequeño deseo”. The Foundation managed the visits of more than 30 sick children from all over the world, who were excited to meet their idols. However, the experience of the British Elli Challis must be highlighted, who is world famous for overcoming her severe disability and playing football with lower limbs prostheses; and also the Bosnian Adnan Mevic; known as the 6 billionth person on earth; who visited Madrid to meet his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Every Christmas, the Realmadrid football and basketball teams visit sick children in the main hospitals of the capital to give them gifts. This year, the Community of Madrid and the Realmadrid Foundation’s campaign “At Christmas, no child without a toy” also gave out 4,500 toys to children in need.

As every year at Christmas time, on 23 December, the Foundation invited members of the Fundación RAIS (Support Network for Social-Labor Integration) to play football and basketball games with school coaches and Real Madrid veterans. In this way, the Foundation shows its appreciation to the Fundación RAIS for their work in promoting the integration of excluded individuals or those that are at risk of exclusion, through developing programs and projects specially aimed at homeless and/or immigrants.

El área social de la Fundación Realmadrid realizó más de 320 donaciones de material deportivo y promocional, a través de entida-des como Horizontes Abiertos, Fundación RAIS, Remar, Fundación Guardia Civil y otras asociaciones, fundaciones y entidades so-licitantes. Gracias la generosidad del club, más de 500 personas desfavorecidas perte-necientes a distintos colectivos y asociacio-nes, fueron invitadas al Tour del Bernabéu, y más de 350 pudieron disfrutar de un par-tido del Real Madrid Castilla en el Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano.

Un año más, la Fundación Realmadrid par-ticipó con un stand solidario en el Rastrillo Nuevo Futuro 2011, cuyas ventas se desti-naron íntegramente a esta institución. El de la Fundación fue visitado por la alcaldesa de Madrid, Ana Botella, y por la presidenta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre.

Desde hace años, los proyectos de la Funda-ción reciben fondos de los torneos solida-rios de golf y pádel. En la pasada tempora-da, se añadieron otras iniciativas: la pulsera USB solidaria, de la empresa MPGTech, que dona un euro por cada pulsera vendida; los SMS solidarios, en colaboración con la Fun-dación Amplexus, o la incorporación por el Realcafé Bernabéu de dos platos solidarios a su carta, que suponen la entrega por el comensal de un donativo. Éstas y otras ini-ciativas pretenden no sólo recaudar fondos necesarios para la obra social de la Funda-ción, sino concienciar a los aficionados de

For some years now, the Foundation’s projects have received funding not only for the Foundation’s social work but also to educate fans of the importance of supporting through sport those who are most in need. This has been achieved through playing caring golf and paddle tournaments, but last season, other initiatives were included, such as the solidarity USB bracelet, courtesy of MP GTech, which donates one euro for each bracelet sold; solidarity text messaging in collaboration with the Fundación Amplexus; or Realcafé Bernabéu, which added two solidarity dishes to their menu, as well as the corresponding donation.

Coincidiendo con la participación de la Fundación en la I Cumbre de Innova-ción en el Voluntariado, organizada por

la Embajada de los EE.UU., se presentó la Ofi-cina del Voluntario Madridista, una iniciativa de la Fundación que responde al aumento del movimiento voluntario en España (un 20 % desde 2011) al que no se podía ser ajeno. En un primer llamamiento a los titulares del carnet madridista, la Fundación Realmadrid encontró una altísima respuesta gracias a la cual el pe-queño equipo de voluntarios de la Fundación –cuya inestimable labor durante estos años era el acompañamiento de personas con discapa-cidad en el estadio Santiago Bernabéu y en el Palacio de los Deportes–, se ha multiplicado de forma exponencial. Ya son más de 250 las per-sonas que de manera altruista colaboran con la obra social de la Fundación.

En colaboración con otras plataformas de voluntarios corporativas, como la de Fun-dación Barclays y Voluntarios por Madrid, el partido benéfico Corazón Classic Match 2012 fue el estreno del nuevo y muy amplia-do equipo de voluntarios de la Fundación. Un equipo que irá aumentando su presencia paulatinamente en los programas y proyec-tos sociales desarrollados por la Fundación.

Since 2011, the voluntary movements in Spain have increased 20% with the help of the Foundation. The Volunteering

Office for Real Madrid supporters was presented coinciding with the participation of the Foundation in the I Summit for Innovation in Volunteering, which took place in the US Embassy. The Foundation’s small volunteering team has increased dramatically, now there are more than 250 people collaborating with the Foundation’s social work, which has been during these years to support people with disabilities in the Santiago Bernabéu football stadium and in Madrid Palacio de los Deportes.

In collaboration with other volunteering corporates, such as Barclays Foundation and Volunteering For Madrid, the Corazón Classic Match 2012 was the launch of a new and greatly expanded team of volunteers of the Foundation. A team that will gradually take its place in programs and social projects developed by the Foundation.

Son muchos quienes –tanto desde la prensa económica como desde el ám-bito de las ONG– confían en las pers-

pectivas de prosperidad de un continente castigado por la hambruna, las guerras y la ausencia de oportunidades. La Fundación Realmadrid, que también es optimista, se ha volcado en el Proyecto África, que coordina todas las acciones solidarias en esa parte del mundo.

El Proyecto África centra muchos de los esfuerzos en la educación de niños y ado-lescentes, una misión fundamental en unos países con tanta población joven. El modelo de escuelas sociodeportivas ha sido todo un éxito, tanto por la calidad y resultados de la propuesta como por la implantación que ha tenido a lo largo y ancho del continente. Las solicitudes y propuestas de proyectos son cada vez más numerosas. Se puede decir que en la temporada 2011-2012 se consoli-dó el modelo educativo y de gestión de las escuelas, tras una etapa previa caracterizada por la puesta en marcha de los centros so-ciodeportivos.

La Fundación Realmadrid tiene muchas es-peranzas puestas en África. Por eso, las dos últimas ediciones del Corazón Classic Match han ayudado a financiar con su recaudación el Proyecto África de la Fundación Realma-drid, que desde 2009 ha conseguido la im-plantación de 25 escuelas sociodeportivas en 24 países, con un total de 5.381 jóvenes alumnos. En la próxima temporada se prevé llegar a la implantación de escuelas en 30 países del continente. Los niños y niñas beneficiarios tienen edades comprendidas

Many people, both from the financial press and from charitable organizations, trust in the positive

outlook of this continent that has been thrashed by hunger, war and a general lack of opportunity. The Realmadrid Foundation, also optimistic about Africa’s future, has thrown itself into its work with Project Africa, an initiative that coordinates all the aid work that is conducted in this part of the world.

Project Africa focuses much of its attention on the education of children and teenagers, a fundamental goal in countries with such young populations. The social sports schools model has been a complete success, both in terms of the quality and results of its proposal and with regards to its implementation across the entire continent. Project applications and proposals are constantly growing in number. In the 2011-2012 season, the educational model and management of the schools went from strength to strength, after an initial period focused on setting up the social sports centers.

The Foundation has high hopes for Africa and, for this reason, the takings from the last two Corazón Classic Matches have been used to help finance the Foundation’s Project Africa, which since 2009 has overseen the introduction of 25 social sports schools in 24 countries, with a total of 5,381 young students. Next season, it is expected that schools will be present in 30 countries across the continent. The child beneficiaries of the project are between the ages of 6 and 17 and live at risk of being marginalized from society or come from hostile environments due to war or the aftermath of conflict. Alternatively, they may find themselves situations of social violence. All are committed to their schooling and professional training and are keen to practice sport outside of school.

En el continente africano se han afianzado las relaciones con una serie de socios lo-cales que, por su capacidad de ejecución y gestión de los proyectos, ofrecen todas las garantías necesarias para el cumplimiento de los objetivos propuestos: Misiones Sale-sianas, Misioneras de África (Padres Blancos), Fundación Habitáfrica, África Directo, Remar, Komati y CESAL, entre otros.

Está previsto que la labor educativa de la Fundación Realmadrid llegue en el nuevo ejercicio a otros países africanos. En el archi-piélago de Cabo Verde se abrirá una primera escuela en el Centro Salesiano de Mindelo, en

La financiación está garantizada por la escuela de tecnificación de la Funda-ción Realmadrid en El Cairo. En Kenia se han firmado las cartas de intención con varias ONG y con las diócesis de Embu y Kitui. Y, finalmente, en Botswana, se espera la firma de un convenio, tras iniciarse conversacio-nes en 2012 con su embajada en Londres y con su Ministerio de Juventud y Deporte.

Two social projects are already in place in Uganda, one in conjunction with CESAL and the other in association with the “White Fathers” in Kampala. Social sports schools will also be set up in Egypt: the Foundation currently has four proposals on the table, presented by Plan Spain and Plan Egypt. Funding for these projects has been guaranteed by the Realmadrid Foundation’s technical school in Cairo. Letters of intent have also been signed with various NGOs and the dioceses of Embu and Kitui in Kenya. Finally, in Botswana, the Foundation is currently waiting to sign a contract, having begun negotiations in 2012 with the country’s embassy in London and with its Ministry of Youth and Sport.

ANGOLA (**)

En Angola se han puesto en marcha dos proyectos que darán comienzo en la temporada 2012-2013. El primero estará

en la Ciudad de Luena, ubicado en el centro de Misiones Salesianas Don Bosco, con 180 beneficiarios. El segundo estará en la comuni-dad de Damba María, en la Obra Renovamen-to Misssionario, con el apoyo de Fundación Habitáfrica. Este se financiará con una inicia-tiva de crowdfunding, un método sencillo y seguro de financiación ahora en auge a base de donaciones realizado principalmente por internet.

ARGELIA

En Argelia se puso en marcha el proyec-to sociodeportivo de fútbol y balon-cesto en la Academia de la Wilaya en

Tipaza, bajo la supervisión del Ministerio de Juventud y Deporte. Cuenta con fondos pro-pios. Se han realizado tanto las formaciones de fútbol como de baloncesto.

ANGOLA (**)

Two projects have been initiated in Angola that will start their activities in the 2012-2013 season. The first will be

located in the city of Luena, at the Salesian Missions’ Don Bosco center, and will have 180 beneficiaries. The second will be set up in the Damba María community in the Obra Renovamento Missionario, with the support of the Habitáfrica Foundation. This school will be funded by a crowd-funding initiative, a safe and simple means of acquiring funding that is currently at its very peak, based on donations sent via the internet.

ALGERIA

A social sports football and basketball project was introduced in Algeria at the Wilaya Academy, in Tipaza, under

the supervision of the Ministry of Youth and Sport. This project is self-funded. Training has been provided in both football and basketball.

BENIN (*)

La Fundación Realmadrid cuenta en este país con dos escuelas, una en Porto Novo y otra en Cotonou, que benefician

a 200 niños y niñas sin hogar. El equipo téc-nico de la Fundación Realmadrid estuvo en las instalaciones del centro Don Bosco de Mi-siones Salesianas en Porto Novo para impar-tir su curso de formación ‘Ellos juegan, noso-tros educamos’. Un total de 15 entrenadores de los dos centros completaron la formación.

BURKINA FASSO (*)

En Burkina Fasso está en marcha un magnífico proyecto sociodeportivo con nuestro socio local, la ONG Remar.

El equipo técnico de la Fundación Realma-drid viajó a la provincia de Ouagadougou para impartir su curso de formación de fút-bol a 14 entrenadores. Se realizó una im-portante donación de material deportivo, todo ello en las instalaciones del centro de la ONG Remar.

BENIN (*)

The Foundation has two schools in Benin, one in Porto Novo and the other in Cotonou. The Realmadrid

Foundation’s technical team visited the sports facilities at the Salesian Missions’ Don Bosco center in Porto Novo to impart the training course ‘They play, we teach’. A total of 15 coaches from both centers completed the training that will benefit 200 homeless children.

BURKINA FASO (*)

In Burkina Faso, the Foundation has a magnificent social sports project in place with its local associate, NGO Remar. The

Realmadrid Foundation’s technical team travelled to the province of Ouagadougou to impart the football coaching course ‘They play, we teach’ to 14 coaches. A significant donation of sports materials was also made, all at the sports facilities of the NGO Remar center.

BURUNDI (*)

El convenio firmado el 22 de junio de 2011 con los Misioneros de África (Pa-dres Blancos) da cobertura a varios

proyectos sociodeportivos en África Sub-sahariana, entre los que se encuentran las dos escuelas sociodeportivas en Burundi, en las localidades de Tenga y Buyenzi, que atienden a más de 200 jóvenes. Se reali-zó la formación en enero de 2012 y están trabajando con normalidad a pesar de las dificultades del país. Se trata de centros so-cioeducativos gestionados por los Padres Blancos, en los que se trabaja con jóvenes y mujeres golpeados por la guerra.

Este proyecto tiene especial relevancia por tratarse de zonas muy afectadas por el conflicto étnico entre comunidades utus y tutsis de Burundi, Ruanda y República De-mocrática del Congo. Aquí el deporte se convierte de nuevo en un vehículo de paz y desarrollo, dando esperanza y generando oportunidades a cientos de jóvenes y a sus familias.

BURUNDI (*)

The agreement signed on 22 June 2011 with the African Missionaries the “White Fathers”, covers several

social sports projects in Sub-Saharan Africa. Amongst these, there are two social sports schools in Burundi, in the localities of Tenga and Buyenzi, which look after more than 200 young people. Training was provided in January 2012 and the schools are working as normal despite the country’s difficulties. These social sports schools are managed by the “White Fathers” and work with young people and women who have been affected by war and massacre.

This project is of particular importance since these areas are extremely affected by ethnic conflict between the Hutu and Tutsi communities in Burundi, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In this region, sport has become a vehicle of peace and development, providing hope and generating opportunities for hundreds of young people and their families.

CAMERÚN (*)

Proyecto en la ciudad de Yaundé con Misiones Salesianas, en el Centro Juve-nil Don Bosco Mimboman de forma-

ción profesional. El curso se realizará el pri-mer trimestre de la temporada 2012-2013. Un grupo de 100 jóvenes voluntarios de la Comunidad de Madrid que participan en la iniciativa ‘Madrid Rumbo al Sur’ fueron los encargados de hacer llegar el material de-portivo para la escuela sociodeportiva.

ETIOPÍA (*)

El 25 de octubre de 2010 se firmó un convenio de colaboración con la ONG Holystic Pro África para crear una es-

cuela sociodeportiva en Wukro, en la región del Tigrai en Etiopía, en el ámbito del centro socioeducativo de los Misioneros de África Padres Blancos.

La escuela sociodeportiva atiende a más de 200 niños y niñas, en las disciplinas de fútbol y baloncesto, en una región muy deprimida a 900 km al norte de la capital, Addis Abeba. La anterior temporada se realizó la forma-ción y la valoración está siendo positiva.

GHANA (*)

Se trata de una escuela con dos sedes, ambas en la ciudad de Accra, en los cen-tros salesianos de Newton y Ashaiman.

En enero se impartió un curso de formación a un total de 10 entrenadores de esta ciudad, en el centro salesiano Don Bosco, que cuenta con un campo de fútbol.

GUINEA ECUATORIAL (**)

Misiones Salesianas vuelve a ser el socio local en este país, donde se ha comenzado a trabajar en las ciuda-

des de Bata, Malabo y Mikomeseng. Además, existe otra propuesta con la Universidad Na-cional Autónoma de Guinea Ecuatorial, que financiará el proyecto.

CAMEROON (*)

The Foundation has a professional training project in the city of Yaoundé with the Salesian Missions, in the Don

Bosco Center in Mimboman. Training will be given in the first three months of the 2012-2013 season. A group of 100 volunteers from the Community of Madrid, who are involved in the ‘Madrid Rumbo al Sur’ initiative, were put in charge of making sure this social sports school received the sports equipment.

ETHIOPIA (*)

On 25 October 2010, a collaboration agreement was signed with the NGO Holystic pro Africa for the creation of

a social sports school in Wukro in the Tigray region in Ethiopia. The project is included in the scope of the “White Fathers” African Missionaries’ social educational center.

The social sports school takes care of more than 200 children, teaching both football and basketball in an extremely run-down area 900 km north of the capital Addis Abeba. Last season, training was provided and the project is running correctly.

GHANA (*)

In Ghana, the Foundation has a school with two sites in the city of Accra, located at the Salesian centers of Newton and

Ashaiman. In January, a training course was given to a total of 10 coaches from the city at the Salesian Don Bosco center, which has a football pitch, a school and a residence for all of its pupils.

EQUATORIALGUINEA (**)

Salesian Missions continues to be the Foundation’s local associate in this country, where it has begun working in the cities

of Bata, Malabo and Mikomeseng. Another proposal has been put forward with Equatorial Guinea’s Universidad Nacional Autónoma, which will provide funding for the project.

MADAGASCAR (*)

Activities have begun in Madagascar with the support of the Agua de Coco Foundation. In May 2012, the

Los beneficiarios de la escuela son niños del área de trabajo del Alinafe, que pertenecen a las familias más desfavorecidas socio-eco-nómicamente. También se incluyen en pro-yectos de ayuda a los niños más vulnerables, como huérfanos e hijos de madres con VIH/SIDA.

This year an agreement has been signed with África Directo that covers various projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, including

a project in Malawi at the Alinafe Community Hospital’s sports facilities in the locality of Benga. The beneficiaries of the school are children from the Alinafe aid area, who belong to the most socially and economically disadvantaged families. In addition, due to their vulnerability, aid programs are provided for the most needy boys and girls at the hospital, such as orphans and the children of AIDS/HIV victims.

The social sports and professional training program in Kayes, in the southwest of Mali, was initiated in 2011

with the collaboration of the Diagrama Foundation and Nouveau Soleil, thanks to the funds provided by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECI).

MARRUECOS (**)

Marruecos cuenta en estos momentos con dos escuelas sociodeportivas en marcha en Tánger. En 2006, con

la colaboración de la Asociación Cervantes de Amistad Hispano Marroquí (ACAHM) y la Cámara de Comercio de Tánger, arrancó el proyecto en las instalaciones deportivas del Barrio Charf Souaní. La escuela beneficia a más de 700 niños y niñas de entre 6 y 17 años. En 2010 se abrió una nueva escuela so-ciodeportiva en el Centro Social Assadaka de Tánger, con la colaboración de la Asociación para la Integración del Menor PAIDEIA, que atiende a más de 500 niños y niñas, menores no acompañados.

En septiembre de 2011 se firmó un conve-nio con el Ministerio de Juventud y Deporte para la implantación de escuelas sociode-portivas en los llamados Centros de Proximi-dad en siete localidades de Marruecos, que está siendo impulsado por la Embajada de España y el Consejero del Rey, Mehdi El Fassi.

MOROCCO (**)

There are currently two social sports schools in operation in Tangier, Morrocco. The Cervantes Association

for Friendship between Spain and Morrocco (Associación Cervantes de Amistad Hispano Marroquí - ACAHM) and the Tangier Chamber of Commerce launched the project in the sports facilities of the Charf Souani district. The project benefits more than 700 children between the ages of 6 and 17. In 2010, a new social sports school was opened in the Assadaka Social Center in Tangier, with the collaboration of the PAIDEIA Association for Youth Integration. More than 500 abandoned and lone children attend the school.

In September 2011, an agreement was signed with the Ministry of Youth and Sport for the introduction of social sports schools in ‘Proximity Centers’ in seven localities in Morocco. The project is being pushed forward by the Spanish Embassy and the King’s Advisor, Mehdi El Fassi.

MOZAMBIQUE (*)

En Mozambique están operativos dos proyectos, uno en Massaca con Cruza-da por los Niños y otro en Maputo con

CESAL. Ambos proyectos se coordinan sobre el terreno y están generando sinergias. El proyecto de CESAL está cofinanciado por la Comunidad Valenciana y el de Cruzada por los Niños cuenta con fondos propios.

El equipo técnico de la Fundación Realma-drid viajó al Centro Maria Grazia de la asocia-ción Khandlelo, socio local de la ONG CESAL en Mozambique, en el barrio de Xipamanine de Maputo. El propósito del viaje era impartir el curso de formación ‘Ellos juegan, nosotros educamos’ a 10 entrenadores de las escuelas sociodeportivas de Massaca y a 3 de Maputo.

Las escuelas benefician en estos momentos a más de 200 niños y niñas mozambiqueños de entre 6 y 7 años.

NíGER (*)

Se trata de un proyecto con la ONG Áfri-ca Directo que está en una antigua le-prosería con gran impacto social en la

comunidad, situada en el Barrio de Kara Kara de la ciudad de Zinder. Beneficia a 250 niños y niñas en situación desfavorecida de entre 6 y 17 años. Está prevista una formación a los entrenadores en el primer trimestre de la temporada 2012-2013.

MOZAMBIQUE (*)

There are two active projects in Mozambique: one in Massaca with Crusade for the children and another one in Maputo with

CESAL. Both projects are being coordinated as they develop and synergies are being created between them. The CESAL project is co-financed by the Community of Valencia and Crusade for Children project is self-funded.

The Realmadrid Foundation’s technical team travelled to the Maria Grazia center of the Khandlelo association, local associate of the NGO CESAL in Mozambique, which is located in the Xipamanine district of Maputo. The team visited the center in order to impart the training course ‘They play, we teach’ to 10 coaches from the social sports schools in Massaca and 3 from Maputo.

Over 200 children between the ages of 6 and 17 are currently benefiting from the schools in Mozambique.

NIGER (*)

The Realmadrid Foundation is working alongside the NGO África Directo in an old leper colony in the Kara Kara district

of the city of Zinder. The project, which has had significant impact on the community, benefits 250 children from troubled backgrounds between the ages of 6 and 17. Training is expected to be provided to the coaches in the first three months of the 2012-2013 season.

REPÚBLICACENTROAFRICANA (*)

En la ciudad de Bangui se ha identificado otro centro salesiano para el desarrollo de la primera escuela sociodeportiva en

el país. La formación de entrenadores está prevista para el primer trimestre de la tempo-rada 2012-2013, en una escuela que benefi-ciará a 125 niños y niñas de entre 6 y 17 años.

REPÚBLICA DEL CONGO (*)

Está en marcha un proyecto en el Cen-tro Salesiano de Pointe Noire. El equipo técnico de la Fundación Realmadrid

viajó en mayo para impartir el curso de formación de fútbol ‘Ellos juegan, nosotros educamos’ a 12 entrenadores del Centro Sa-lesiano juvenil Don Bosco de Pointe Noire, la segunda ciudad más grande del país. Las ac-tividades sociodeportivas han comenzado beneficiando a un total de 150 niños y niñas.

Another Salesian center has been identified in the city of Bangui for the development of the first social sports school of the

country. The training of coaches has been planned for the first three months of the 2012-2013 season, at a school that will benefit 125 children between the ages of 6 and 17.

THE REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO (*)

The Foundation has a project in place at the Salesian Center of Pointe Noire. The technical team travelled to the center

in May to give the training course ‘They play, we teach’ to12 coaches from the Salesian Don Bosco Center in Pointe Noire, the second largest city in the country. The social sports activities have already begun and are of benefit to a total of 150 children. The project is running smoothly.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO (*)

After a declaration of intent was signed on 31 March 2011 with the Archbishop of Bukavu, Monsignor François Xavier Maroy

Rusengo, the Realmadrid Foundation set up a school in this country. The center, which is run together with the “White Fathers” Missionaries, looks after more than 100 young people.

Bukavu es la capital de la provincia de Kivu Sur, en el este de la República Democrática del Congo. Se trata de una de las regiones más ricas en recursos pero más empobre-cidas por las guerras y la violencia que aso-lan la región desde hace dos décadas. La Fundación Realmadrid y la archidiócesis de Bukavu han unido sus esfuerzos y han im-pulsado una plataforma para la creación de escuelas sociodeportivas.

La Fundación Realmadrid está trabajando en la región oriental, en la frontera con Ruanda y Burundi, en una de las zonas más afectadas por los conflictos en los Grandes Lagos. La estrategia en la región es cam-biar el fusil por el balón y construir una cultura de paz a largo plazo. El proyecto con los padres Blancos se desarrolla con el apoyo de la Gobernación y Archidióce-sis de Bukavu. Se realizó la formación en enero del 2012. Cuenta con diversas sedes en Bukavu, Goma, Kindu y Uvira.

RUANDA (*)

En Ruanda se está consolidando el pro-yecto con los Padres Blancos, con el apoyo de la diócesis de Kigali. Durante

la formación en Burundi en enero, 7 entre-nadores se desplazaron hasta las instalacio-nes de la escuela sociodeportiva de Burundi para recibir el curso de formación de fútbol.

Bukavu is the capital city of the Kivu Sur province, located in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is one of the richest regions in resources yet is impoverished by the wars and violence that have devastated the region for two decades. Together with the archdiocese of Bukavu, the Foundation has pledged its commitment to join resources and strive for the creation of social sports schools.

The Foundation is currently working in the east of the country on the border between Rwanda and Burundi, in one of the areas most affected by conflict in the Great Lakes. The region’s aim is to swap the rifle for football and build a peaceful culture in the long term. The project is being developed in conjunction with the “White Fathers” along with the support of the Government and Archdiocese of Bukavu. Training was provided in January 2012. The project has centers in Bukavu, Goma, Kindu and Uvira.

RWANDA (*)

The Foundation’s project in Rwanda, which is being run in conjunction with the “White Fathers” and the support of

the diocese of Kigali, is running with normality. In January, 7 coaches travelled to the sports facilities at the social sports school in Burundi to take part in the football training course.

SANTO TOMÉ Y PRÍNCIPE (**)

Se firmó el convenio con la Secretaría de Estado de Deporte de Santo Tomé y Príncipe para la creación de una escuela

sociodeportiva que ofrecerá, de forma gratui-ta, recursos deportivos, educativos, sanitarios, psicosociales y de tiempo libre a niños y niñas de entre 3 y 17 años. Se atenderá a los más desfavorecidos o con capacidades diferentes con el objetivo de mejorar el desarrollo físico, intelectual y social.

SENEGAL (*)

El programa sociodeportivo y de for-mación profesional en el Centro Don Bosco de Tambacounda se inició con

la colaboración de Misiones Salesianas en junio de 2010, con el objetivo de reducir el abandono y el fracaso escolar entre los jó-venes. Gracias a esta escuela se contribuye al desarrollo integral de los jóvenes a través de un programa que combina la práctica deportiva con la educación en valores y la formación profesional.

En julio de 2011, un equipo de la Fundación Realmadrid realizó una visita técnica para conocer la labor de los socios locales y man-tener reuniones con las autoridades muni-cipales. Además, se desarrolló el curso de formación, en el que participaron 40 moni-tores de centros educativos de Dakar, Thies, Tambacounda y Kolda.

El proyecto original se ha ampliado a las ciu-dades de Dakar y Thiés, donde se realizaron las formaciones de fútbol en 2011 y de ba-loncesto en 2012.

SIERRA LEONA

La Fundación Realmadrid lleva desde 2008 apoyando el trabajo de reinserción social de niños ex combatientes de Sie-

rra Leona con el apoyo de Misioneros Javeria-nos en 10 localidades en la frontera con Gui-nea Conakry. De esta iniciativa se benefician más de 300 niños y niñas. El fútbol se con-vierte así en instrumento de rehabilitación y desarrollo de valores positivos y de paz.

En la temporada 2010-2011, los Misione-ros Javerianos tuvieron que salir por fuerza mayor de su zona de intervención y el pro-yecto sociodeportivo se trasladó a la loca-lidad de Lungi, con el apoyo de Misiones Salesianas. El proyecto cuenta con el apoyo financiero de la Agencia Española de Coo-peración Internacional y Desarrollo (AECID).

SÃO TOMÉ AND PRÍNCIPE (**)

An agreement has been signed with the State Department of Sport to create a social sports school. The center will

offer free sport, educational, medical and psychosocial resources and play areas to children between the ages of 3 and 17 that are disadvantaged or have different physical capabilities with the aim of improving physical, intellectual and social development.

SENEGAL (*)

The social sport and professional training program at the Don Bosco Center in Tambacounda was introduced with

the collaboration of the Salesian Missions in June 2010, its aim being to reduce the number of young people leaving school and failing their exams. This school provides a contribution towards the full development of young people via a program that combines sport with education in values and professional training.

In July 2011, a team from the Realmadrid Foundation visited and examined the work that was being done by the Foundation’s local associates and attended meetings with local authorities. A training course was also given to 40 coaches from the educational centers at Dakar, Thiés, Tambacounda and Kolda.

The original project has expanded into the cities of Dakar and Thiés, where a football training course was given in 2011 and a basketball training course was provided in 2012.

SIERRA LEONE

The Realmadrid Foundation has been supporting the reintegration into society of Sierra Leone’s former child soldiers since

2008, with the help of the Javerian Missionaries in 10 localities on the border with Guinea-Conakry. The project, which benefits more than 300 children, is proof of how football can be used as an instrument to reinstate and develop positive values and peace.

In the 2010-2011 season, the Javerian Missionaries were forced to leave their area of intervention due to circumstances beyond their control and the social sports project was relocated to the locality of Lungi with the support of the Salesian Missions. The project has the financial support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).



SUDÁFRICA (**)

En 2010 se inauguraron las escuelas so-ciodeportivas de Mamelodi (Pretoria) y Soweto (Johannesburgo), con la cola-

boración de la Fundación Komati y la finan-ciación de empresas privadas.

El equipo técnico de la Fundación realizó una formación de 30 monitores deportivos en la Universidad de Pretoria. Además, se en-tregó el material didáctico y las equipacio-nes de los entrenadores.

Las perspectivas de consolidación y amplia-ción del proyecto son muy buenas. Se cuenta con la implicación y apoyo de la Embajada de Sudáfrica en España y de la Embajada de Espa-ña en Sudáfrica. En la temporada 2012-2013 se realizará un curso de puesta a punto.

TANZANIA (**)

El grupo técnico de la Fundación Realma-drid estuvo en Tanzania para impartir su curso de formación a 50 entrenadores

de 11 países. Además, se hizo una visita téc-nica a las instalaciones para poner en marcha un proyecto de escuelas sociodeportivas.

Se realizaron visitas al Centro Don Bosco, donde se ubica el Youth Training Center

SOUTH AFRICA (**)

The social sports schools of Mamelodi (Pretoria) and Soweto (Johannesburg) were opened in 2010 with the

collaboration of the Komati Foundation and funding from private companies.

The Foundation’s technical team gave a training course to 30 sports coaches at the University of Pretoria. There, teaching material and the coaches’ equipment were also given out.

The project’s prospects to become stronger and increase in size are very promising. The South African Embassy in Spain and the Spanish Embassy in South Africa have both pledged their support and wish to be involved. In the 2012-2013 season a tailored course will be provided.

TANZANIA (**)

The Realmadrid Foundation’s technical team travelled to Tanzania to give a training course to 50 coaches from

11 different countries. It also carried out a technical visit to the sports facilities in order to set in motion a social sports schools project.

The team visited the Don Bosco Center at the Youth Training Center which teaches

(Centro de formación para jóvenes). El cen-tro tiene alumnos de 14 a 20 años y cuenta con instalaciones deportivas. En cuanto al proyecto en el Hospital de Kilimanjaro, es-tará dirigida al beneficio de niños albinos, niños con discapacidades físicas y estudian-tes de medicina.

TOGO (*)

El equipo técnico de la Fundación Real-madrid estuvo en las instalaciones del centro Don Bosco de Misiones Salesia-

nas en Kara para impartir su curso de forma-ción a 7 entrenadores.

Las actividades sociodeportivas se llevan a cabo en el Centro de Secundaria Don Bosco, fundado por Misiones Salesianas en sep-tiembre de 2009 para los niños y niñas que se encontraban en situación de riesgo de marginación. Fue el primer centro de secun-daria gratuito y desde el comienzo asumie-ron la responsabilidad de escolarización de jóvenes con menos recursos. Este proyecto es un compromiso en consonancia con la actividad de la Fundación Realmadrid y ga-rantiza su buen funcionamiento de cara a la apertura de una escuela sociodeportiva durante esta temporada.

The social sports activities will begin at the Don Bosco Secondary Education Center, which is funded by the Salesian Missions, in September 2009. The center is designed for children that are at risk of being marginalized by society and was the first to offer free secondary education. Since its beginnings, it has taken responsibility for the schooling of children and young people with limited resources. This project is a commitment that is in line with the activity of the Realmadrid Foundation and guarantees its good working order for the opening of a social sports school this season.

El Real Madrid guarda unos vínculos históricos con el fútbol latinoamericano que han favorecido la más que positiva acogida de las escuelas sociodeportivas. En los países en que la Fundación Realmadrid está presente, esa implantación tiende a crecer. Y en

aquellos en que estaba ausente, comienza a dar los primeros pasos. Es el caso de Bolivia, Guatemala y República Dominicana, países donde por vez primera se ha llevado la propuesta de la Fundación de educar en valores a través del deporte. En otros países latinoamericanos, esta metodología formativa es celebrada desde hace muchos años. Es todo un éxito la ex-periencia en Colombia, país que cuenta con 47 centros sociodeportivos, de los cuales 13 se han abierto este último año. México es otro buen ejemplo de expansión de este concepto educativo: se abrirán cinco nuevas escuelas con cuatro socios locales. Para la temporada 2012-2013 se espera ampliar la red a Nicaragua y Costa Rica.

Mención aparte merece el debut de las escuelas de la Fundación Realmadrid en Estados Unidos, donde se prevé abrir seis nuevos centros en varios estados de esa nación.

Real Madrid has historical links with Latin American football and this has meant a warm welcome for the Foundation’s social sports schools there. At present, the Realmadrid Foundation is tending to open more schools in the countries in which it already operates

and is slowly but surely making itself known in others. It has recently introduced its proposed system of education in values through sport in Bolivia, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic, for example. In other Latin American countries, the Foundation’s training methodology has been held in high esteem for many years. It has had nothing but success in Colombia where it has set up 47 social sports centers, 13 of which have opened in the past year. Mexico is another great example of the expansion of the Foundation’s educational concept and five new schools are to be opened there with the help of four local associates. The Realmadrid Foundation also hopes to branch into Nicaragua and Costa Rica in the 2012-2013 season.

The Foundation’s debut in the United States also deserves a special mention. Six new centers are expected to open in various stadiums across the country.

ARGENTINA

Argentina is a clear point of reference for the educational model of social sports schools introduced by the

Realmadrid Foundation. The new means of understanding education and sport adopted by this country has demonstrated the initiative’s success. The social sports school managed in situ by Obra del Padre Mario is the Foundation’s longest standing center. Over the last year, the school has continued to offer new opportunities to disadvantaged young people. In addition to playing football and basketball, girls and boys can develop their skills in other sports such as swimming, volleyball, hockey, handball and athletics. In November 2011, the Foundation’s technical team gave a training course to four basketball coaches and another to eleven football coaches.

BOLIVIA

Expansion into Bolivia was fixed as a priority by the Foundation for the 2011-12 school year, since in this country

the aid and social work that the institution offers could give great returns. On the one hand, Bolivia has a high rate of poverty, an alarm signal that calls for the educational initiatives of a social sports nature akin to those offered by the Foundation’s schools.

On the other hand, this South American country’s economic outlook is positive, a fact that can only work in the favor of any aid action directed towards to most needy. The introduction and opening of the schools program in Bolivia has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of three local associates: Fundación Gol, Asociación Hechos and Fundación Alalay. The Foundation is also grateful for the support of the Banco Mercantil Santa Cruz. Six social sports schools have been created in the cities of La Paz, Santa Cruz de la Sierra and El Alto.

BRAZIL

In recent years, Brazil has been tackling social inequality successfully. The country’s people live in a spirit of optimism towards

the future: its economic growth continues and, in the coming years, the country will host world-famous sporting events in which sport and values are celebrated. These events include the FIFA Confederations Cup, the Football World Cup, World Youth Day and the Olympic Games. All these things considered, the country could not be more receptive to an educational model such as the one offered by the Realmadrid Foundation.

In June 2012, the Foundation visited its schools in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo along with Real Madrid’s first team winger, Marcelo. The Brazilian player was extremely grateful to be invited and shared relaxed moments with the children at the school. The Foundation has the support of the Mapfre Foundation in Rio de Janeiro, with this entity providing the funding for the project. In Sao Paolo, the Salesian Missions School is financed by Banco Santander.

CHILE

In Chile, the Realmadrid Foundation shares a project with the Amigos del Real Madrid Foundation located in the city of Santiago.

In October, 11 Chilean children visited Spain’s capital and had the opportunity to meet their first team idols at the Ciudad Real Madrid and train with a social sports school coach.

The young Chileans were able to demonstrate their competitiveness on the pitch when they played against the school from Peru and one of Real Madrid’s youth teams in a three-way championship that was organized in the sports complex at Valdebebas. The students ended their trip by watching Real Madrid play Villareal.



ARGENTINA

El modelo educativo de las escuelas so-ciodeportivas tiene un claro punto de referencia en Argentina, país donde

empezó a tomar forma una manera de en-tender la educación y el deporte que ha demostrado su acierto. Y es que la escuela sociodeportiva gestionada sobre el terreno por la Obra del Padre Mario es la de mayor trayectoria de la Fundación Realmadrid. En el pasado ejercicio, este centro siguió ofre-ciendo nuevas oportunidades a jóvenes desfavorecidos. Además de practicar fútbol y baloncesto, niños y niñas pueden desarro-llar sus habilidades en otros deportes, como natación, voleibol, hockey, balonmano y at-letismo. En noviembre de 2011, el equipo técnico de la Fundación realizó un curso de formación a cuatro entrenadores de balon-cesto y a 11 de fútbol.

BOLIVIA

De cara al curso 2011-2012, la Funda-ción Realmadrid se había marcado como prioridad la implantación en

Bolivia. Se trata de un país en que la acción solidaria y social de nuestra institución puede recoger enormes frutos. Por un lado, Bolivia sufre un alto índice de pobreza, una señal de alerta que aconseja iniciativas educativas de perfil sociodeportivo como las de las escue-

las de la Fundación Realmadrid. Por otro lado, las expectativas de la economía de este país sudamericano son positivas, viento a favor para cualquier acción de apoyo a las perso-nas más necesitadas. La puesta en marcha del programa de escuelas en Bolivia ha sido po-sible gracias a la colaboración de tres socios locales –Fundación Gol, Asociación Hechos y Fundación Alalay– y gracias al apoyo del Banco Mercantil Santa Cruz. Se han creado seis escuelas sociodeportivas, en las ciudades de La Paz, Santa Cruz de la Sierra y El Alto.

BRASIL

En los últimos años, Brasil está reducien-do con éxito las desigualdades sociales. Su gente vive el presente con optimis-

mo y aguarda el futuro con esperanza. El cre-cimiento económico persevera y el país será anfitrión durante los próximos años de citas de escala mundial en que se ensalzarán de-porte y valores: Copa Confederaciones, Copa Mundial de Fútbol, Jornada Mundial de la Juventud y Juegos Olímpicos. Así las cosas, el escenario no podría ser más propicio para un modelo educativo como el que plantea la Fundación Realmadrid.

En junio de 2012 se realizaron visitas a las escuelas de Rio de Janeiro y Sao Paulo, con

la presencia del lateral del primer equipo del Real Madrid, Marcelo. El jugador bra-sileño se mostró muy agradecido por la invitación y compartió momentos disten-didos con los niños de las escuelas. En Río de Janeiro se cuenta con la colaboración de la Fundación Mapfre, que financia el proyecto. En Sao Paulo, la escuela de las Misiones Salesianas está financiada por el Banco Santander.

CHILE

En Chile, la Fundación Realmadrid com-parte un proyecto con la Fundación Amigos del Real Madrid, ubicada en la

ciudad de Santiago. En octubre, 11 niños chi-lenos visitaron la capital de España y pudie-ron conocer a sus ídolos del primer equipo en la Ciudad Real Madrid y entrenarse bajo la supervisión de un monitor de las escuelas sociodeportivas.

Estos jóvenes chilenos también pudieron demostrar su competitividad sobre el cés-ped, ya que disputaron un partido con la escuela de Perú y un equipo infantil del Real Madrid, en un triangular que se organizó en la ciudad deportiva en Valdebebas. Conclu-yeron su visita con la asistencia al partido de Liga entre el Real Madrid y el Villarreal.

Colombia prueba cuán lejos puede lle-gar el modelo educativo de la Funda-ción Realmadrid. Este país es líder en

número de escuelas sociodeportivas a nivel internacional: en la actualidad, la Fundación Realmadrid, junto con la Fundación Jean François Revel, cuenta con 47 centros, de los cuales 13 se inauguraron este último año en distintas regiones del país.

En noviembre de 2011 se desarrolló la pri-mera Copa Alma Ciudad de Bogotá, un fes-tival de escuelas sociodeportivas en el que más de 1.200 niños tuvieron la oportunidad de vivir la pasión por el fútbol y la magia del Real Madrid.

Por primera vez en su historia, la Fundación Realmadrid recibió una delegación de más de 76 niños. Además de hacer la acostumbra-da visita turística a Madrid, pudieron presen-ciar el entrenamiento del primer equipo y el partido de Liga entre Real Madrid y Levante.

En abril, 40 entrenadores recibieron en Bogo-tá el curso ‘Ellos Juegan, Nosotros Educamos’.

ECUADOR

En Ecuador se han inaugurado dos es-cuelas. Una de ellas, en Quito, en co-laboración con la Universidad de las

Américas y con la Fundación Cecilia Rivade-neira, y la otra, en Ambato, con el apoyo de la Cámara de Comercio y Cooperación de esa Municipalidad. Estas se suman a la esta-blecida en Quito en 2010 con la Universidad SEK. En la próxima temporada se inaugurará una nueva escuela en Manta en asociación con el Centro de Aprendizaje y Formación Núñez, sumando así más de 750 niños bene-ficiados en todo el país. La inauguración de las escuelas de Quito y Ambato contó con la presencia de Emilio Butragueño, director de Relaciones Institucionales del Real Madrid, que aprovechó para visitar la escuela ya es-tablecida en Quito.

Por otro lado, Butragueño realizó una visi-ta de identificación al proyecto del centro de formación CAF Núñez en Manta, que le permitió constatar que esta escuela estará lista para iniciar actividades en la próxima temporada.

El equipo técnico de la Fundación Realma-drid viajó a Ecuador para impartir el curso de formación a 25 entrenadores de las tres escuelas sociodeportivas.



COLOMBIA

Colombia is an example of the sheer scope of the educational model promoted by the Realmadrid Foundation, since this

country has the most number of social sports schools in the world. Working in conjunction with the Jean François Revel Foundation, the Realmadrid Foundation has 47 centers there, 13 of which opened just last year in different regions across the country.

In November 2011, the first Alma Ciudad de Bogotá Cup, a festival of social sports schools, was held. The event was attended by over 1,200 children who had the opportunity to live their passion for football and experience the magic of Real Madrid.

For the first time in its history, the Realmadrid Foundation welcomed a delegation of over 76 children in Madrid. In addition to the usual tour of the city, the children were invited to watch the first team train and attend the match between Real Madrid and Levante.

In April, 40 coaches attended the “They play, we teach” course in Bogota.

ECUADOR

Two schools have been opened in Ecuador, one of which is in Quito and is run in collaboration with the

Universidad de las Américas and the Cecilia Rivadeneira Foundation. The other school is located in Ambato and was opened with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of this district. These schools are in addition to the center founded in Quito in 2010 in collaboration with SEK University. Next season, a new school will be opened in Manta in association with the Centro de Aprendizaje y Formación Núñez (“Núñez Center for Learning and Training”), meaning that the total number of children benefiting from these projects throughout the country will rise to 750. The openings of the schools in Quito and Ambato were attended by Emilio Butragueño, who also visited the existing school in Quito on his trip to Ecuador.

Emilio Butragueño also made a visit to the CAF Núñez training center project in Manta, where he was able to verify that the school will be ready to commence activities next season.

The Realmadrid Foundation’s technical team travelled to Ecuador to impart the “They play, we teach” training course to 25 coaches from the three social sports schools.

EL SALVADOR

El Salvador es uno de los países en donde se empezó a definir el mode-lo de las escuelas sociodeportivas de

la Fundación Realmadrid. Esa condición de país pionero se traduce en una relación muy estrecha. El pasado año, 16 de los 700 alum-nos de esos centros visitaron Madrid para vivir una semana inolvidable. La mejor ex-periencia fue la asistencia al partido de Liga entre Real Madrid y Real Racing Club.

ESTADOS UNIDOS

La filosofía socioeducativa de la Fun-dación Realmadrid beneficiará a la juventud estadounidense. En no-

viembre de 2011 se firmó un convenio con la Fundación International Studies, que supone la entrada en este país, cada vez más abierto al fútbol, que allí denomi-nan soccer. Se ha adquirido un compromi-so para abrir seis escuelas a medio plazo en distintos estados del país. Las tres pri-meras escuelas se ponen en marcha en Worcester (Massachussetts), en Arlington (Virginia) y en Houston (Texas). Esta últi-ma fue visitada por el capitán del Real Ma-drid, Iker Casillas. . El Salvador is one of the countries in which the Foundation’s model of social sports schools first began to take shape.

The fact that this country is a pioneer in the initiative means that the Foundation has a strong relationship there. Last year, 16 of the 700 students from its centers visited Madrid to enjoy an unforgettable week. The highlight of their trip was watching the match between Real Madrid and Racing de Santander.

UNITED STATES

The socio-educational philosophy of the Realmadrid Foundation will also benefit young people in the United States. In

November 2011, an agreement was signed with the International Studies Foundation, representing the Foundation’s debut in this large country which is increasingly interested to football (or soccer as they prefer to call it there). The Realmadrid Foundation has received confirmation of a commitment to open six schools in the medium term in different states throughout the country. The first three centers will be opened in Worcester, (Massachusetts), Arlington (Virginia) and Houston (Texas). This last school was visited by the captain of the Real Madrid team, Iker Casillas. The first team will provide support to the Foundation’s tour of the United States in summer 2012.

PANAMA

In Panama, the social sports schools project has already been consolidated and a total of 15 children travelled to Madrid on a trip in March.

GUATEMALA

En junio de 2012, Guatemala se incor-poró al proyecto socioeducativo de la Fundación Realmadrid. De la mano de

la Fundación Carlos F. Novella, y con el apoyo de Cementos Progreso, se firmó un conve-nio de colaboración para la creación de una escuela sociodeportiva en la capital (Ciudad de Guatemala).

El proyecto es pionero en Guatemala y ofre-cerá un espacio de formación a más de 1.200 niños y jóvenes en riesgo de entre 6 y 17 años, evitando que muchos de ellos caigan en la delincuencia o sean víctimas de ella. Con este convenio, la Fundación Realmadrid y la Fundación Carlos F. Novella inician la implementación de una escuela sociode-portiva de fútbol con apoyo académico, con el objetivo de formar integralmente niños, niñas y adolescentes a través del deporte.

This pioneer project in Guatemala will offer a training ground for more than 1,200 children and young people in need between the ages of 6 and 17. Novella Foundation begin the implementation of social sports school with academic backup, with a view to providing a complete education to children and adolescents through sport.

HAITÍ

Desde que un terremoto devasta-se Haití el 12 de enero de 2010, la Fundación Realmadrid ha estado

realizando un trabajo continuo con el llamado Proyecto Haití, que incluye la re-construcción del colegio San Gerardo en Carrefour-Feuilles (afueras de Puerto Prín-cipe). La escuela se ha trasladado por ra-zones técnicas y de seguridad al munici-pio de Château (zona rural del sur del país, a 150 kilómetros de Puerto Príncipe), cuya población es de 17.000 habitantes. La ini-ciativa incorpora una escuela sociodepor-tiva de fútbol y baloncesto, con el objeti-vo de que los niños y niñas haitianos que allí acudan reciban alimentación, asisten-cia sanitaria y una formación en valores que les facilite nuevas oportunidades para su futuro.

HONDURAS

La Fundación Realmadrid inauguró su primera escuela sociodeportiva en Honduras gracias al proyecto conjun-

to con la Fundación Diunsa y al apoyo del Instituto Municipal de Deportes y la munici-palidad de San Pedro Sula. Emilio Butrague-ño fue el encargado de dar a conocer este proyecto que beneficia a más de 250 niños y niñas con escasos recursos económicos.

Tras realizar en diciembre la formación de en-trenadores por parte del equipo técnico de la Fundación Realmadrid, la primera escuela sociodeportiva que impartirá conjuntamente fútbol y baloncesto a todos los alumnos es ya una realidad. Este proyecto, que lleva el nom-bre de ‘Formando campeones’, ayuda a 250 jó-venes, que pueden jugar al fútbol y que, ade-más, reciben una educación complementaria (por ejemplo, clases de inglés e informática).

JAMAICA

La labor socioeducativa en la escuela de Jamaica está dando resultados muy po-sitivos. Esta escuela surge del convenio

firmado con la Fundación España-Jamaica en abril de 2010 y atiende a alumnos de 6 a 13 años de la ciudad de Montego Bay, en la provincia de Saint James.

Los alumnos son niños y niñas en situación de exclusión social, procedentes de familias de bajos recursos socioeconómicos y ex-puestos al crimen y la violencia. Las insta-laciones son cedidas por la compañía Rose Hall Developments.

En marzo, dos entrenadores viajaron a Trini-dad y Tobago para recibir el curso de forma-ción de fútbol.

MÉXICO

México es uno de los países donde más presencia está obteniendo la Funda-ción Realmadrid. En el último ejercicio

se han rubricado acuerdos que supondrán la creación de cinco nuevas escuelas.

Los convenios se han firmado con los si-guientes socios locales: Grupo Bafar (Ciu-dad Juárez), Instituto Municipal del Deporte en Puebla, Cuden (León) y CESAL (Oaxaca).

En marzo se realizó una formación de fútbol dirigida a 96 entrenadores en las ciudades de Juárez, Chihuahua, Ciudad de México y Veracruz.

PERÚ

En Perú se han desarrollado dos proyec-tos ejemplares con la financiación de Mapfre y Endesa. En Huachipa se ha

abierto una escuela en colaboración con CESAL, ONG con la que ya se han puesto en marcha centros en Itagua (Paraguay) y en Oxaca (México).

La próxima temporada se abrirá una escuela en Lima con el apoyo del ayuntamiento y otra escuela con los jesuitas, en ambos casos con la financiación de Endesa.

HAITI

Ever since Haiti was devastated by an earthquake on 12 January 2010, the Realmadrid Foundation has been

working continually on the Foundation’s Project Haiti, which includes the reconstruction of the San Gerardo School in Carrefour-Feuilles on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince. For technical and security reasons, the school has been moved to the Chateau district, a rural area of 17,000 inhabitants in the south of the country 150km from Port-au-Prince. The initiative includes a social football and basketball sports school whose objective is for its pupils to have access to food, medical attention and an education in values that provides them with new opportunities for their future.

HONDURAS

The Realmadrid Foundation opened its first social sports school in Honduras thanks to its joint project with the

Diunsa Foundation and the support of both the district sports institute (“Instituto Municipal de Deportes“) and the district of San Pedro Sula. Emilio Butragueño was put in charge of publicizing this project, which will benefit over 250 children with limited economic resources.

Once the coach training provided by the Realmadrid Foundation’s technical team had been completed in December, the first social sports school opened offering football and basketball training to all of its pupils. This project, entitled “Formando campeones” (“Training champions”) looks after 250 young people who are already able to play football and also receive additional education such as English and I.T. lessons

JAMAICA

The social and educational work carried out at the Foundation’s school in Jamaica is achieving positive results.

This school was opened after an agreement was signed with the Spain-Jamaica Foundation in April 2010 and is attended by children between the ages of 6 and 13 from the city of Montego Bay in the Saint James Parish.

The pupils at the school are children marginalized from society from families of low social and economic resources, who are currently exposed to crime and violence. The sports facilities at the school were granted by the company Rose Hall Developments.

In March, two coaches from Jamaica travelled to Trinidad and Tobago to take part in the football training course.

MEXICO

Mexico is one of the countries in which the Realmadrid Foundation is most expanding. In the last year,

agreements to create five new schools have been signed with local associates Grupo Bafar, Instituto Municipal del Deporte en Puebla, CUDEN and CESAL, in Juárez, Puebla, León and Oaxaca, respectively.

In March, football training was given to a total of 96 coaches in the cities of Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico City and Veracruz.

PERU

Two excellent projects have been developed in Peru with funding provided by Mapfre and Endesa. A school has been opened

in Huachipa with the collaboration of the NGO CESAL, with whom centers in Itagua (Paraguay) and Oaxaca (Mexico) have already been set up. Next year, a school will open in Lima with the help of the council and another with Jesuit support. Both schools will be funded by Endesa.

REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA

Durante el pasado ejercicio se inaugu-ró la presencia de la Fundación Real-madrid en este país, con la puesta en

marcha de dos escuelas. En República Domi-nicana se cuenta con el apoyo de la Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID) y de Misiones Sale-sianas. El objetivo es abrir nuevas escuelas en este país caribeño durante los próximos años, que estarán a cargo de los monitores formados el pasado mes de marzo.

TRINIDAD Y TOBAGO

Emilio Butragueño se desplazó hasta Tri-nidad y Tobago con el fin de conocer el proyecto que se desarrolla en colabo-

ración con Atlantic LNG. Trinidad y Tobago acogió una iniciativa de formación conjunta, a la que también asistieron entrenadores del proyecto educativo en Jamaica.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

In the last year, the Foundation has opened its first two schools in the Dominican Republic with the support of the AECID

and the Salesian Missions. The Foundation aims to open more new schools in the Caribbean country in coming years. In March, training will be provided to the coaches who will be involved in the daily running of the project.

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

Emilio Butragueño travelled to Trinidad and Tobago to visit the project that is being run there in collaboration

with Atlantic LNG. Trinidad and Tobago welcomed a joint training initiative which was also attended by coaches from the educational project in Jamaica.

En abril, el equipo técnico de la Fundación Realmadrid impartió el curso de formación ‘Ellos juegan, nosotros educamos’ a 11 en-trenadores de las escuelas sociodeportivas de Trinidad y Tobago, que se inauguraron en abril. La formación se impartió en las ins-talaciones de la Academia de fútbol Ron la Forest, que lleva el nombre de un exjuga-dor de fútbol de Trinidad y Tobago. El mismo participó en las jornadas de formación para ser uno de los entrenadores. El curso tam-bién contó con la presencia del ex portero de la selección nacional de fútbol de Jamai-ca, Aaron Lawrence, que es entrenador en la escuela de su país.

URUGUAY

In April, the Realmadrid Foundation’s technical team gave the “They play, we teach” training course to 11 coaches from the social sports schools in Trinidad and Tobago that were opened in April. Training was given at the sports facilities of the Ron La Forest Football Academy, located in Puerto España. Ronald La Forest is the former Trinidad and Tobago player after whom the academy is named and he himself took part in the training days to become a coach. The course was also attended by the former goalkeeper of the Jamaican National Football Team, Aaron Lawrence, who is a coach at the school in Jamaica.

URUGUAY

The school is suitably progressing. It star-ted off with activities in 2008 and bears the name of the legendary Uruguayan

Emilio Santamaría, progresa adecuadamen-te. Dos entrenadores de fútbol y dos de ba-loncesto de esta escuela que surgió de la ini-ciativa conjunta de la Fundación Amigos del Real Madrid en Uruguay y el Colegio Cervan-tes de Montevideo, participaron en el curso de formación que se realizó en Argentina.

VENEZUELA

En Venezuela se han creado 12 escue-las con el apoyo de los Nobles de Za-mora, quienes han sido pieza clave en

el desarrollo del proyecto. En noviembre de 2011 se llevó a cabo la formación de 50 entrenadores en Santa Bárbara. Ese mismo mes tuvo lugar la vista de niños venezola-nos, quienes tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer Madrid, visitar el estadio Santiago Bernabéu y jugar un partido con nuestra escuela de Navas del Marqués.

In Venezuela, 12 schools have been opened with the support of the Nobles de Zamora Foundation, which has had a key role in

the project’s development. In November 2011, 50 coaches received training in Santa Barbara and the same month saw children from the country travel to Madrid on a school trip. The students were given the opportunity to sightsee, visit the Santiago Bernabéu stadium and play a match against the Navas del Marqués School.

Asia, para muchos la puerta del futuro, es una región de alto interés estratégico para la Fundación Realmadrid. Durante

el pasado ejercicio, los esfuerzos de los últi-mos tiempos han fructificado y las escuelas sociodeportivas contribuyen ya a la forma-ción de futuras generaciones del continente. La metodología de formación en valores me-diante la práctica del fútbol se está emplean-do en la actualidad en cuatro países: China, India, Indonesia y Filipinas. A destacar que India y China son los dos países más pobla-dos de la tierra y que Indonesia cuenta con un gran número de seguidores madridistas. En China el rol de las escuelas es clave, ya que van a contribuir al objetivo de sus autorida-des de proporcionar oportunidades a través del deporte y de mejorar la calidad del fútbol que se practica en el país.

Asia, considered by many to be the gateway to the future, is a region of much strategic interest for the

Realmadrid foundation. During the last year, past efforts have borne fruit and its social sports schools have begun to provide an important contribution to the future generations of the continent. The formative program of teaching values whilst playing football is currently being implemented in four different countries: China, India, Indonesia and the Philippines. Of these countries, it is important to remember that India and China are the two most populated on the planet and Indonesia has a considerable number of Real Madrid fans. In China, the role that the social sports schools play is extremely important, since they contribute towards the Chinese authorities’

Durante la temporada 2011-2012, la Fundación Realmadrid trabajó con el Banco Asiático de De-sarrollo, organización a la que visitó en su sede central de Manila (Filipinas) para definir una ini-ciativa que supone la entrada en Vietnam. Nues-tra labor socioeducativa se integrará en el tra-bajo social del Banco Asiático de Desarrollo en Vietnam: se atenderá a la población desplazada de sus hogares porlas inundaciones necesarias para construir puentes en el delta del Mekong. Asimismo, se estará pendiente de la población de los asentamientos de trabajadores.

Otro país donde llegarán los esfuerzos de la Fundación Realmadrid es Camboya. Se han realizado dos donaciones de material a la ONG Juntos por Camboya y ya se están dando los primeros pasos para crear una pe-queña escuela sociodeportiva.

In the 2011-2012 season, the Realmadrid Foundation worked alongside the Asian Development Bank (ADB), an organization that it visited at its headquarters in Manila (Philippines) in order to outline an initiative that would represent the Foundation’s first project in Vietnam. The social education provided by the Foundation will be incorporated into the social work of the ADB in Vietnam and efforts will be focused on those who have had to leave their homes as a result of the deliberate flooding to build bridges in the Mekong delta. The project will also take care of the people living in settlements of workers.

For this reason, its leaders pledge their commitment to football and are keen to improve the technique of their players. Beijing also considers the sport to be a wonderful way of improving the outlook of the most vulnerable. In this context, the social sports school model provided by the Realmadrid Foundation is an extremely attractive proposal for the local and provincial authorities, sporting bodies and clubs. The idea is that, over the course of the next ten years, China will amaze the rest of the world with the talent and technique that they are currently lacking.

In order to contribute to a future with more values and talent on the pitch, the Realmadrid Foundation and its partner in China, Football China, have signed an agreement to create a football training school in Guangzhou, under the auspices of one of the country’s largest

En junio, Emilio Bu-tragueño y una delegación internacional de la Fundación Realmadrid acudieron a una cena organizada por esta fundación y anun-ciaron el proyecto común.

In addition, the school in Calcutta is providing a contribution towards gender equality since girls are included in the mixed teams. More than 150 pupils from the Kheadah School train every afternoon, enjoy a healthy snack, shower and wear the school uniform with pride, as a symbol of their belonging to a project that is shared by children all over the world. The IIMC is financing the entire project through its sponsorship system.

In the new season, a social sports school will be opened at the Muthaiyar School in Cuddalore (Tamil Nadu) and will be attended by 200 boys and girls, in collaboration with Fundación de la Ciudad de la Esperanza y Alegría. In June, Emilio Butragueño and an international delegation from the Realmadrid Foundation attended a dinner organized by this foundation in order to announce this shared project.

In September 2011, a four-year agreement was signed with the State Secretary of Youth and Sport of East Timor for the

creation of football schools in the country. The first centers will be located in Dili, Bacau and Maliana and will be financed by the state. In Bacau, the Foundation has the support of Australian aid working in this young country.

The Santa Cruz de Davao social sports school in the Philippines is a great example of a social integration project

on the Island of Davao. Since November 2011, the Foundation’s local associate ANNAK has brought football and education in values to the attention of the more than 100 children who were already beneficiaries of its work. The social sports school is financed by the Social Institute of the Mapfre Foundation with the support of Mapfre Insular in Manila. The Foundation also works alongside the Spanish embassy in the Philippines, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and the Emilio Butragueño fan club.

ANNAK prepares children for the transition to secondary education in the hope that the number of students dropping out of school may fall. It also provides university grants, runs technical training in motors, motorcycle repairs and electrical workshops, offers psychological support and provides I.T. lessons.

INDONESIA

In May 2012, the first seven schools to be set up in Indonesia began their activities. These schools can be found at various locations

El programa formativo de la Fundación Realmadrid se afianza en el Viejo Continente, donde tan-tos niños y jóvenes se pueden beneficiar del aprendizaje de valores positivos. Los proyec-tos se convierten en una realidad gracias a la convicción de los socios locales que, como la Fundación Realmadrid, viven un momento difícil para la búsqueda de fondos.

La ilusión y la entrega son cada vez más grandes. Toda esa energía está animando el diseño de nuevos proyectos. Así, la Fundación Realmadrid va a estar presente en Rusia. La primera escuela sociodeportiva va a estar lo-calizada en la ciudad de Rostov-on-Don, en el

Además de entrenar, estos niños han podido participar en torneos sociales y disfrutar de las festivi-dades de Navidad y de Pascua. Figuras vete-ranas del fútbol y del baloncesto de su país se han acercado a la escuela para charlar con los pequeños de sus experiencias. Toda esta actividad sociodeportiva está siendo finan-ciada con fondos propios.

HUNGARY

In September 2011, the Hungarian school in Felcsút began running with the RealTanoda sports program for social

integration. Rural-origin boys and girls, most of them belonging to gipsy ethnic groups, can play football and basketball in the sports facilities the Ferenc Puskas Academy Foundation has donated to this project. Apart from training, these children have been able to take part in social tournaments and enjoy Christmas and Easter celebrations. Football and basketball veteran figures from Hungary have come to the school to chat with the children about their experiences. All this social sports activity is self-funded.

The Realmadrid Foundation has shaped three projects with the same local partner: the Foundation for People

Development. The schools are located in Jucu and Cluj (in the region of Transylvania), y and in Bucharest. During last academic year, much effort was made to obtain local authorities support and financial backers. The first school will be running in October 2012.

mano de Soccerland. Sus más de 130 be-neficiarios están siendo educados en la no-violencia y en el fair-play (juego limpio). La financiación se está realizando con fondos propios, con el pago de una pequeña cuota por parte de los alumnos que puedan.

POLONIA

La escuela en Polonia, ubicada en Lodz, está en expansión: va a pasar de 60 a 150 beneficiarios. En verano de 2012,

gracias a la organización de campus de ve-rano en cuatro localidades polacas, recibió un empujón económico, porque todos los beneficios obtenidos van a ir directos a la financiación del proyecto social.

PORTUGAL

La actividad de la Fundación Realmadrid en Portugal ya es una realidad. En enero de 2012 se presentó el proyecto so-

cioeducativo para nuestro país vecino, que supone la puesta en marcha de cuatro es-cuelas. Ya han abierto sus puertas el centro sociodeportivo de Vila Real de Santo Anto-nio y Castro Marim, ubicado en la región del Algarve, y la Escola Mais de Funchal, en Ma-deira. En la nueva temporada, comenzarán a dar servicio las otras dos escuelas: la de Vila Nova de Gaia y la de Manique (Lisboa).

ITALY

In Italy, the Riozzo school (Cerro al Lambro, Milan) hosted its first pupils in November 2011 thanks to Soccerland. Its more than

130 beneficiaries are being taught non-violence and fair play values. This project is self-funded and with a small amount of money paid by the pupils who can afford it.

POLAND

The school in Poland, situated in Lodz, is being extended from 60 to 150 beneficiaries. During summer 2012, and

thanks to the summer campus held in four Polish regions, this school will receive a financial push forward, since all the benefits obtained at the campus are set aside for this social project.

PORTUGAL

The Real Madrid Foundation activity in Portugal is already a reality. In January 2012, the social educational project

for Spain’s neighbor was presented, which means four schools will be running. The Vila Real de Santo Antonio and Castro Marim social sports center, in the region of The Algarve, and the Escola Mais de Funchal, in Madeira, are already created. In the next season, two more schools will be running too, one in Vila Nova de Gaia and the other one in Manique (Lisbon).

The schools in Funchal and Manique are Salessian Missions’s schools and are financed

Fundación Realmadrid, que tanto contribu-ye al desarrollo personal de los más jóvenes. A esta propuesta formativa se le atribuye mucho valor, por convicción sobre la efec-tividad de las escuelas y por las caracterís-ticas de Oriente Medio: la región tiene un alto porcentaje de población juvenil y sufre desde hace décadas las consecuencias del conflicto entre palestinos e israelís.

Las diferencias entre las comunidades árabe e israelí exigen que se dé importancia a los contenidos educativos centrados en valores de paz y de ciudadanía. Para lograr avances, se necesita la colaboración de socios locales que tengan muy interiorizados esos mismos valores. En la pasada temporada se firmaron convenios con la Agencia de la ONU para

Real Madrid is admired in the Middle East and its educational methodology that contributes so much to the

personal development of young people is embraced with enthusiasm. The Foundation’s projects are held in high regard because of the effectiveness of its schools and the characteristics of the Middle East: the region has a high percentage of young people and has suffered the consequences of conflict between Israelis and Palestinians for decades.

The differences that exist between the Arab and Israeli communities demand that importance is given to educational content focused on peace and civil responsibility. In order to move forward, the collaboration of local associates who are extremely committed to these very values is fundamental. Last season, agreements were reached with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), the Union of Local Authorities of Israel, (ULAI) and with the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem. The profile of beneficiaries in Palestinian areas is very different to that of the Middle East as a whole since these youths have been extremely affected by the conflict with Israel. They have a vulnerable socioeconomic situation and need strong psychological support.

In the Middle East, the Foundation’s advanced football training program and its clinics have a huge importance because they help to finance social projects in the region. The first

This project, jointly-financed with the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECI), began in 2009 and

is managed by the Peres Center for Peace and Al-Quds, though the Foundation’s strategy in the region welcomes other local associates. For the 2012-13 season, the Realmadrid Foundation has included as local associates the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Union of Local Authorities of Israel (ULAI).

PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES

In the Palestinian Territories, the Foundation is currently working in conjunction with local associates, in particular the United

Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem.



ARABIA SAUDÍ

En febrero de 2011 se puso en marcha la primera escuela en Arabia Saudí, en Riyadh. Este país de la península

arábiga es prioritario en los planes de la Fundación Realmadrid en Oriente Medio, razón por la cual el presidente del club y de la Fundación Realmadrid, Florentino Pérez, acudió allí a la firma del convenio que dio luz a la mencionada primera escuela. Floren-tino Pérez puso su rúbrica junto a la de los Príncipes Mohammad Bin Salman Al-Saud y Bader Bin Abdullah Bin M. Al-Saud. Durante esa estancia, visitó las instalaciones deporti-vas de los barrios sociales que benefician a 300 jóvenes con la ayuda de la Asociación del Príncipe Salman.

BAHRÉIN

En febrero, el equipo técnico de la Fun-dación Realmadrid viajó a este país para impartir el curso de formación de

fútbol a 20 entrenadores seleccionados por la Asociación de Fútbol de Bahréin. La escue-la, que está financiada por la Royal Charity Organization, beneficiará a 300 niños y niñas de familias muy necesitadas o huérfanos.

EMIRATOS ÁRABES UNIDOS

La Fundación Realmadrid comenzó su expansión en el mundo árabe en 2010 y ha realizado esta temporada una ex-

tensa labor trabajando en el desarrollo de los proyectos ya iniciados como el de Abu Dhabi, que alberga la hasta ahora única es-cuela sociodeportiva en Emiratos Árabes Unidos, aunque las perspectivas de creación de una red de centros son inmejorables.

JORDANIA

La primera escuela sociodeportiva en Jordania, ubicada en Ammán, comenzó sus actividades en septiembre de 2010

en colaboración con la Fundación Youth Achieve Development (YAD). En la pasada temporada se consolidaron las dos escuelas ahora existentes, la creada en Ammán (fút-bol) y la puesta en marcha en Aqaba (balon-cesto). Junto al Patriarcado Latino de Jerusa-lén, participaremos en proyectos en zonas muy desfavorecidas.

In February 2011, the first school in Saudi Arabia opened in the city of Riyadh. This country in the Arabian Peninsula is a

priority for the Realmadrid Foundation’s plans in the Middle East. For this reason, the Chairman of the club and the Foundation, Florentino Pérez, attended the signing of the agreement there that brought about this first school, fixing his signature next to those of the Princes Mohammad Bin Salman Al-Saud and Bader Bin Abdullah Bin M. Al-Saud. During his stay there, he visited the district sport installations that 300 young people enjoy with the help of the Prince Salman Association.

BAHRAIN

In February, Realmadrid Foundation’s technical team travelled to Bahrain to give a football training course to 20 coaches

who had been selected by the Bahrain Football Association. The school, which is financed by the Royal Charity Organization, will benefit 300 orphans and children from families in need.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

The Realmadrid Foundation began to expand into the Arab world in 2010 and this season it has made great advances

there. Work has been carried out on existing projects, for example, in Abu Dhabi, where the only social sports school in the United Arab Emirates until now can be found. The Foundation has excellent plans to create a network of centers there in the future.

JORDAN

The first social sports school in Jordan, located in Amman, opened its doors in September 2010 in collaboration

with the Youth Achieve Development (YAD) Foundation. Last season, the two existing schools in the country, in Amman (football) and Aqaba (basketball), went from strength to strength. Together with the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the Foundation plans to be involved in projects in extremely disadvantaged areas.

In September, 16 pupils, two coaches and the President of the YAD (Youth Achieve Development) Foundation, Salem Alzaben, came to Madrid for the students’ first visit.

TERRITORIOS PALESTINOS

En Territorios Palestinos se está coope-rando con socios locales, sobre todo con la Agencia de la ONU para los refu-

giados de Palestina (UNRWA) y el Patriarca-do Latino de Jerusalén.

Florentino Pérez y Filipo Grandi, Comisiona-do general de las Naciones Unidas para los refugiados de Palestina, firmaron en noviem-bre de 2011 un convenio de colaboración para la creación de ocho escuelas sociode-portivas en la Franja de Gaza y Cisjordania. Con esta iniciativa se pretende mejorar la calidad de vida de 10.000 niños refugiados palestinos.

KUWAIT

La primera escuela sociodeportiva en Kuwait, situada en Bayan, en el distrito de Hawalley, empezó a atender a niños

en abril de 2012, en colaboración con el socio local Al-Yousifi Charity Institution. La escuela educa a 150 niños y niñas de entre 6 y 13 años, con unas perspectivas de consoli-dación muy buenas.

Florentino Pérez and Filipo Grandi, Commissioner-General for the United Nations for refugees in Palestine, signed a collaboration agreement in November 2011 for the creation of eight social sports schools in the Gaza Strip and in Cisjordan. The aim of this initiative is to improve the quality of life of 10,000 children who are Palestinian refugees.

En su segunda edición, el Campus Ex-perience dirigido por la Fundación Realmadrid se afianzó como un cam-

pamento de referencia en la divulgación de valores y en el estímulo de la multiculturali-dad. Más de 2.200 jóvenes (de entre 7 y 17 años) de 43 nacionalidades participaron en un campus pionero. Ese carácter innovador le viene dado porque las enseñanzas sobre fútbol o baloncesto ensanchan los horizon-tes de los jóvenes con otros aprendizajes, con la adquisición de valores y con el cre-cimiento personal. El término experience (experiencia) hace alusión a un modelo de campus de verano que va más allá de las canchas y de los campos de juego y que pone énfasis en la formación humanística.

Campus Experience es toda una vivencia. Y es que para los jóvenes madridistas, pocas experiencias superan el poder entrenar a fútbol en la Ciudad Real Madrid (sólo los participantes en el campus de tecnificación entrenaron en la otra localización del cam-pus de fútbol, en Villaviciosa de Odón). La ilusión se desbordó cuando los jugadores del primer equipo Marcelo, Pepe, Varane, Sahin y Altintop acudieron a saludar y a fo-tografiarse con los chavales. En el campus de tecnificación de baloncesto, la mirada de los niños también se iluminó con la visita de sus ídolos. In the football technique campus, the work produced on the pitch is thanks to educating the values of self-control, humility, tolerance, solidarity, respect to others, effort, team spirit and teamwork. The awards for “Balón de Oro” (Gold Ball award) and “Balón de Plata” (Silver Ball award) recognize the students’ performance on and off the football pitch. During this campus, 175 children from various countries, such as Israel, Canada, Colombia, Russia and Spain perfected their game. Also, Emilio Butragueño, director of the club’s Institutional Relations paid a visit to the students.

Before the summer of 2012, the Realmadrid Foundation will be spreading from Madrid and Santander to another 6 destinations: La Manga Club (Cartagena), Plasencia, Fuerteventura, England and Poland.

En la pasada temporada, la Fundación Realmadrid estrenó el proyecto de las escuelas de tecnificación dirigidas a

niños y niñas a partir de 5 años y también a grupos semiprofesionales que deseen per-feccionar la práctica del fútbol.

El método de trabajo imita el de la cantera del Real Madrid, con la opción de contar du-rante todo el curso o no con la presencia de un entrenador español. Se lleva a cabo du-rante el año escolar, a lo largo de 10 meses. Los entrenadores de la Fundación Realma-drid dirigen las escuelas apoyados por en-trenadores locales debidamente titulados en el país de origen de la escuela.

Estas escuelas de tecnificación permiten fi-nanciar la creación de escuelas de integra-ción social para niños y niñas en riesgo de exclusión social. Este último curso se puso en marcha una escuela de tecnificación en El Cairo (Egipto), gracias al acuerdo firmado con Fame Academies for Sports Marketing. En la actualidad, 300 jóvenes egipcios de edades comprendidas entre los 6 y 17 años, perfeccionan su técnica en estas instalacio-nes. Siguiendo el modelo de financiación descrito, esta escuela sufragará una escuela sociodeportiva en El Cairo destinada a más de 100 niños y niñas desfavorecidos.

Last season, the Realmadrid Foundation launched the technification project aimed at children from five years old

as well as at semiprofessional groups who wanted to perfect their skills.

The method used is the same as the Real Madrid’s reserve of young players, with the option of having a Spanish coach throughout the year. It takes place during the school year, a period of 10 months. The Real Madrid Foundation’s coaches run the schools and are supported by qualified local coaches in the country of origin.

These technifications provide the funding for more schools of social integration for children that are at risk of exclusion. Last season, a new technification was opened in Cairo (Egypt) thanks to the agreement signed with Fame Academies for Sports Marketing. Currently, there are 300 Egyptians between 6 and 17 years that are able to improve their technique in these facilities. Following the financial model described, this school will provide the funding for a social sports school in Cairo aimed at more than 100 children in need.

La historia del Real Madrid está repleta de momentos de gloria, épica y sacrificio. Desde su fundación hace 110 años, el club se ha caracterizado por un inagotable espíritu de superación y por una voluntad de trascender en la historia del fútbol mundial. Detrás de

todos y cada uno de esos esfuerzos ha habido siempre un conjunto de valores, una forma de entender el deporte que ha perdurado y que ha sido heredada por generaciones de jugadores y de seguidores.

El Centro de Patrimonio Histórico vela por todo ese intangible y por todos esos valores. La en-tidad, que es gestionada por la Fundación Realmadrid, podría ser definida como el guardián de las esencias del madridismo. Y es que en sus archivos se conservan miles de documentos y de objetos que permiten revivir y relatar la magnífica historia del club. Su labor es funda-mental, porque preserva todo aquello que tenga relación con los valores, con la simbología, con la identidad y con la evolución histórica del club. En ese patrimonio están guardadas las raíces del madridismo y muchas de las claves de un intenso sentimiento colectivo. Todos esos tesoros llegan al gran público a través de los medios de comunicación del club, de las exposiciones temporales y temáticas y del Tour del Bernabéu.

All of these treasures reach the greater public via the club’s media sources, temporary exhibitions and the Bernabéu Tour.



Un catálogo de más de 224.000 ‘tesoros’

El Centro de Patrimonio Histórico del Real Madrid ha catalogado ya más de 224.000 registros, que están ubicados

en diferentes archivos. Cuatro de estos archivos están dentro del estadio Santia-go Bernabéu y dos fueron inaugurados a comienzos de la pasada temporada en la Ciudad Real Madrid.

Cada día que pasa, la colección es más gran-de y más completa. En la temporada pasada se catalogaron más de 6.500 objetos, entre los que destacan las fichas de jugadores de todas las categorías (profesionales, segunda división/aficionados e inferiores).

Asimismo, se generaron más de 25.600 ar-chivos digitales, sobre todo de fichas de jugadores, de negativos y de fotografías de objetos (trofeos, banderines, placas, et-cétera).

A catalogue of over 224,000 ‘treasures’

The Real Madrid Heritage Center has already catalogued more than 224,000 different objects in its different archives.

Four of these archives are to be found inside the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and two were opened at the beginning of last season at the Ciudad Real Madrid.

The collection grows in size and quantity on a daily basis. Last season, over 6,500 objects were registered, including player registrations from all categories (professionals, second division and lower categories).

Over 25,600 digital archives were also created of player registrations, negatives and photographs of objects such as trophies, flags and commemorative plaques.

Pedro Ferrándiz, entrenador de balon-cesto del Real Madrid durante 14 años, se encuentra entre quienes más han enrique-cido el patrimonio baloncestístico del club. A finales de 2011 hizo entrega al Centro de Patrimonio Histórico de una importante colección de carteles de partidos y fotogra-fías de la historia de este deporte. Se trata de 17.000 imágenes en negativo que están siendo digitalizadas, 140 carteles de partidos de baloncesto y 272 imágenes enmarcadas de momentos importantes de la historia del baloncesto. En esta colección destacan car-teles de los partidos de Copa de Europa.

The sporting heritage of the Pedro Ferrándiz Foundation at Real Madrid

Real Madrid has provided some of the best moments in the history of European basketball. As pioneer of the

sport in Spain, the club has always been a point of reference and its sportsmanship and values have been captured by all kinds of documents and objects over the decades. Pedro Ferrándiz, Real Madrid’s basketball coach for 14 years, has made one of the most significant contributions to the richness of the club’s basketball heritage. At the end of 2011, he presented the Heritage Center with an important collection of match posters and photographs of the sport’s history. The collection is made up of 17,000 negatives that are currently being digitalized, 140 basketball match posters and 272 framed photos of key moments in basketball history. Some of the most important additions to the collection are the posters of the European Cup matches.

Antonio Calderón Vilches ha querido que su amplia colección de más de 655 objetos se conserve en el Cen-

tro de Patrimonio Histórico del club. Siendo hijo de Antonio Calderón, gerente del Real Madrid durante la presidencia de Santiago Bernabéu, empezó a atesorar objetos ma-dridistas desde niño. Muchas de las que hoy consideramos como piezas de museo le fueron regaladas por la esposa de Santia-go Bernabéu, María Valenciano, con quien compartía los ratos en que su padre des-pachaba en casa del presidente. En la co-lección de Antonio Calderón encontramos relojes, insignias, carteles y entradas de par-tidos, banderines, fotografías y documentos.

Antonio Calderón’s Madridista Collection

Antonio Calderón Vilches decided that he would like his impressive collection of more than 655 objects to be kept at

the club’s Heritage Center. As the son of An-tonio Calderón, Real Madrid’s manager during the presidency of Santiago Bernabéu, An-tonio began to collect memorabilia as a fan from an early age. Many of the objects he has collected over the years that are now part of the museum’s collection were given to him as presents by Santiago Bernabéu’s wife, María Valenciano, with whom he would spend time whilst his father was discussing business at the president’s house. The Antonio Calderón co-llection contains watches, badges, match pos-ters and tickets, flags, photos and documents.

En marzo de 2012 se inauguró la Ex-posición itinerante para conmemorar los 110 años del Real Madrid, con el

fin de acercar a todos los seguidores 11 décadas de historia, valores y triunfos. El Centro de Patrimonio Histórico del Real Madrid ha aportado todos los conteni-dos expositivos que el visitante puede contemplar. Se han seleccionado más de 1.800 imágenes, 60 videos y más de 100 objetos históricos.

La Exposición itinerante sobre la historia del club, puesta en marcha con motivo del 110 aniversario, estuvo en Madrid, Zaragoza, Vigo, Oviedo, Alicante, Logroño, Madrid - Alcoben-das, León, Salamanca y Cáceres.

In March 2012, the travelling exhibition to commemorate the club’s 110th anniversary was opened, designed to share the 11

decades of the club’s history, its values and its triumphs with Real Madrid fans. The Heritage Center has included in this exhibition all kinds of objects for the visitor to see, including over 1800 photos, 60 videos and more than 100 historical objects.

The travelling exhibition about the club’s history, set off to commemorate the 110th anniversary, visited Madrid, Zaragoza, Vigo, Oviedo, Alicante, Logroño, Madrid- -Alcobendas, León, Salamanca y Cáceres.

Exposición madridista en el Foro Luis de Carlos: ‘La afición’

La Fundación Realmadrid homena-jeó a los seguidores madridistas con el encuentro del Foro Luis de Carlos

que se dedicó a la afición. Al margen del tradicional formato de mesa redonda, se organizó una exposición con cerca de 100 fotografías de la afición madridista de todos los tiempos, junto con carteles de partidos históricos y objetos significativos (banderas, bufandas, camisetas, etcétera).

The Realmadrid Foundation paid homage to the club’s supporters at the Luis de Carlos Forum, which

was dedicated to the fans. Alongside the traditional format of this round table meeting, an exhibition of around 100 photos was organized, showing images of Real Madrid’s fans throughout its history together, with posters of historical matches and important objects such as flags, scarves and shirts.

Nuevo Tour del Bernabéu

El Tour del Bernabéu es el cuarto museo más visitado de Madrid, solo por detrás del Museo del Prado, el Museo Reina

Sofía y el Museo Thyssen. Este año ha inau-gurado un nuevo proyecto de museo junto con una exposición dedicada a Alfredo Di Stéfano. El Centro de Patrimonio Histórico del Real Madrid ha estado varios meses bus-cando y seleccionando imágenes y objetos para mejorar los contenidos expositivos del Museo. Con el nuevo tour, el visitante puede contemplar objetos inéditos hasta ahora nunca expuestos en el museo madridista. Las nuevas tecnologías también contribu-yen a mejorar la experiencia de los simpa-tizantes y aficionados que realicen el tour.

Actualmente el Tour del Bernabéu acoge la exposición de objetos cedidos por Alfredo Di Stéfano. Todos esos premios y trofeos, tam-bién guardados en su domicilio, han sido catalogados y cedidos al club. Alfredo Di Sté-fano desea que todo ese patrimonio deporti-vo sea disfrutado por los seguidores del Real Madrid. Se trata de 659 objetos y documen-tos, entre los cuales se encuentran piezas de gran valor simbólico, como el Superbalón de Oro, sus dos Balones de Oro, la Medalla al Orden Deportivo de España, El Golden Foot, las medallas conmemorativas de campeón de Copa de Europa, entre otros galardones y trofeos, además de equipaciones.

New Bernabéu Tour

The Bernabéu Tour is the fourth most visited museum in Madrid, after the Prado Museum, the Reina Sofía Museum

and the Thyssen Museum. Real Madrid would like to improve its ranking in this list for next season and this year has launched a new museum project with an exhibition dedicated to Alfredo Di Stéfano. The club’s Heritage Center has been examining and selecting images and objects for several months in order to improve the content of the museum’s displays. With the new tour, visitors can gaze at newly displayed objects that have never before been shown in the Real Madrid museum. Advances in technology have also contributed to improvements in the experience of the fans and supporters who book on the tour.

Currently, the Bernabéu Tour hosts the exhibition of several objects granted by Alfredo Di Stéfano. All those awards and trophies also kept in his home have been classified and granted to the club. Alfredo Di Stéfano wishes all this sports heritage is enjoyed by the Real Madrid supporters. The heritage is composed of 659 objects and documents among which there are exhibits of great symbolic value, such as his Golden Super Ball, his two Golden Balls, his Spanish Sports Order Medal, his Golden Foot, his Europe’s Cup medals and many other awards, trophies and equipment.

Concesiones de materiales y contenidos históricos

El Centro de Patrimonio Histórico realizó en el pasado ejercicio 352 préstamos, correspondientes a 14.656 objetos y

documentos. A destacar las concesiones de imágenes realizadas al diario El País, al dia-rio ABC –para el coleccionable La historia del Real Madrid contada por ABC–, al Museo Reina Sofía –para ilustrar la exposición Sta-dium de Antoni Muntadas–, a ex jugadores y sus familiares y, cómo no, a las publicacio-nes propias del club: revistas, Realmadrid TV, Realmadrid.com, y redes sociales. Hay que subrayar que el Centro de Patrimonio Histórico tiene su propia sección en la re-vista de la Fundación Realmadrid, centrada este año en el 110 aniversario del club, las Copas del Rey, el trofeo Santiago Bernabéu y la colección de Alfredo Di Stéfano. Asimis-mo, se han cedido fotos para los libros Iker Casillas. La humildad del campeón y La Liga del 110: 100 puntos, 121 goles.

other documents were on display in the entrance to the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium on the morning of the 3 June 2012. The display was organized for the attendees of the Annual Meeting of Real Madrid Fan Clubs.

Loaning of material and historical objects

The Heritage Center approved 352 loans last year, corresponding to 14,656 objects and documents. Some of the

most significant loans included photos that were sent to the newspapers El País and ABC for the pull-out section on the history of Real Madrid “La historia del Real Madrid contada por ABC”. Other important loans were granted to the Reina Sofía Museum for its exhibition on the Antoni Muntadas Stadium, to ex-players and their families and, of course, to the club’s own publications (magazines, T.V., webpage and social networking sites). It is important to remember that the Heritage Center has its own section in the Realmadrid Foundation magazine, which focuses this year on the 110th anniversary of the club, the Copa del Rey matches, the Santiago Bernabéu trophy and the Alfredo Di Stéfano collection. Permission to reprint photos was also granted to the books Iker Casillas. La humildad del campeón (“Iker Casillas. A Champion’s Humility”) and La Liga del 110: 100 puntos, 121 goles (“The 110 League. 100 points and 121 goals”).

La Fundación Realmadrid es consciente de la importancia de hacer llegar su mensaje a todas aquellas entidades y personas que prestan o puedan prestar su apoyo y también al conjunto de la sociedad. Cualquier labor solidaria que tenga la ambición de propor-

cionar nuevas oportunidades a miles de personas en todo el mundo exige el máximo núme-ro de complicidades. Y para ello es básico explicar de forma detallada en qué consisten todas las iniciativas que se emprenden desde la Fundación.

La actividad solidaria y social de la entidad es cada vez más amplia y más relevante. Todas esas acciones llegan a la sociedad –entidades y personas que nos respaldan, socios y aficionados madridistas y tantas otras personas con interés por las causas sociales– mediante varios cana-les de comunicación. A través de estos medios de comunicación corporativos, se informa sobre todo tipo de actividades: visitas de las delegaciones internacionales; visitas institucionales y técnicas; firmas de convenios de colaboración y de cartas de intenciones; inauguraciones de escuelas; actividad que se desarrolla en los centros educativos; visitas de alumnos de escuelas en el exterior; torneos con equipos de categorías inferiores del Real Madrid, etcétera.

The Realmadrid Foundation is well aware of the importance of its message reaching all the entities and people that lend or may lend their support, as well as society as a whole. Any aid work whose ambition is to provide new opportunities to thousands

of people throughout the world requires as much support as possible. In order to achieve this, it is essential that detailed information of all of the initiatives that are undertaken by the Foundation is made known.

The social and formative activity of the foundation is becoming increasingly widespread and relevant. News of all of its initiatives reaches the public (entities and people who support the Foundation, Real Madrid members and fans, and many others with an interest in social causes) via several channels of communication. By these means of corporate communication, information is provided on all kinds of activity: the visits of international delegations, institutional and technical visits, the signing of cooperation agreements and letters of intent, the opening of schools, the activities developed in these educational centers, overseas visits organized for the pupils of these schools, and tournaments with Real Madrid teams from lower categories, etc.

‘La Liga del 110’

La Liga de los récords, “la mejor y más emocionan-te Liga de la historia” –en palabras del presidente, Florentino Pérez–, pone la guinda a la celebra-

ción de los 110 años de historia del club. El libro La Liga del 110, publicado por Everest, se detiene en el campeón de la mejor Liga de la historia y en tantos otros momentos de gloria vividos a lo largo de un siglo y una década. Se trata de la crónica del conjunto más laureado de Europa, desde su fundación en 1902 hasta el presente. “Estamos ante un libro puro de con-sulta, de historia y de historias”, resumió el autor, En-rique Ortego, durante el acto de presentación en el palco de honor del estadio Santiago Bernabéu. En el acto, Florentino Pérez alabó así la trayectoria del club: “han sido 110 años de emociones, entrega constante y pasión por la victoria”.

‘La Liga del 110’ (‘The 110 League’)

This record season, “the best and most exciting league of all time” in the words of Chairman Florentino Pérez, puts the icing on the cake for

the 110th anniversary celebration of the club. The book La Liga del 110, published by Everest, focuses on the league of 100 points and 121 goals and on many other moments of glory throughout the club’s 110 years of history. The publication relates the history of the most successful football team in Europe, from when it was founded in 1902 to the present day. “This is a pure reference book on history and stories”, summarized the author, Enrique Ortego, at its presentation in the royal box at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. At the event, Florentino Pérez praised the club’s history by affirming that “These have been 110 years of emotion, constant dedication and passion for victory”.

A través de la publicación de libros, la Fundación Realmadrid cuenta la his-toria del club y los valores que caracterizan a la institución. Algunas obras, como la que se centra en Iker Casillas, son de trazo biográfico y homenajean

a jugadores que marcan época y encarnan a la perfección el ideario madridista.

El 1 de diciembre de 2011, el palco de honor del estadio Santiago Bernabéu acogió la presentación del trabajo editorial Iker Casillas. La humildad del cam-peón, escrito por el periodista Enrique Ortego. El libro repasa los triunfos y el

carácter modesto, dentro y fuera del campo, del portero del Real Madrid. Al acto acudieron el presidente, Florentino Pérez, que hizo de maestro de ceremonias, y el presidente de honor del club, Alfredo Di Stéfano. Florentino Pérez resaltó el currículum excelente del guardameta y su personalidad, que “hace que sea uno de los futbolistas más queridos”. El libro, editado por Everest, resume la vida futbolística y personal de esta leyenda blanca a través de sus paradas, trofeos, ambiciones y sueños.

‘Iker Casillas. La humildad del campeón’ (‘Iker Casillas. A champion’s humility’)

On December 1 2011, the royal box of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium hosted the presentation of the book Iker Casillas. La humildad del campeón, written by journalist Enrique Ortego. The book recalls the triumphs and modesty, both

on and off of the pitch, of the Real Madrid goalkeeper. The presentation was attended by the club’s Chairman Florentino Pérez, who chaired the meeting, and the Honorary President, Alfredo Di Stéfano. Florentino Pérez drew attention to the goalkeeper’s excellent personality and résumé, stating that they “made him one of the most loved footballers”. The book, edited by Everest, summarizes the legendary footballer’s career and personal life through his saves, trophies, ambitions and dreams.

The Realmadrid Foundation relates the history of the club and the values that characterize the institution by publishing books. Some of these publications, such as those on Iker Casillas, are biographical in nature and pay homage to

the key players of certain eras that embody the Real Madrid ideology perfectly.

Las redes sociales han demostrado ser una magnífica forma de acercar el trabajo soli-dario a una sociedad cada vez más abierta a las posibilidades participativas que abre internet. En su esfuerzo por contar con el máximo número de apoyos en su labor, la Fun-

dación Realmadrid está muy presente en Facebook, que ha demostrado ser una red social de gran repercusión. La Fundación ha pasado esta temporada de 119.000 a 380.00 seguidores. Además, contamos con una cuenta de Twitter, que ofrece la información más inmediata de nuestras actividades. Esta temporada cerramos con 60.000 seguidores.

A través de las páginas en las redes sociales, los interesados en las novedades de Fundación pueden mantenerse actualizados y tener un seguimiento más exhaustivo de sus actividades. Los seguidores de la Fundación Realmadrid en Facebook pueden acceder a información, imágenes y vídeos de los actos que organiza la institución. La Fundación ofrece secciones e información exclusivas, sólo publicadas en esta red social, como fotos históricas, carteles de partidos históricos y noticias seleccionadas.

Este año hemos participado con Obra social ‘laCaixa’ y la fundación del F.C. Barcelona en la Campaña ‘Juntos x África’. La iniciativa ha logrado reunir más de 150.000 euros, que se distri-buirán a partes iguales entre UNICEF, ACNUR y la FAO para proyectos en zonas afectadas por la hambruna y la crisis humanitaria en el Cuerno de África.

Social networks

Social networks have proved to be a great means of publicizing the work of the Foundation to a society that is increasingly aware of the opportunities to participate provided by the internet. As part of its effort to increase its levels of support as much as possible, the

Realmadrid Foundation has a strong presence on Facebook, a social network that has had a great impact, with the number of followers of the page increasing this season from 119,000 to 380,000.

The Foundation also has a Twitter account, offering up-to-date information on its activities. At the end of the last season, there was a total 60,000 followers on this social network.

Via the pages the Foundation maintains on social networking sites, those interested in the Foundation’s news can keep up-to-date with the activities planned by the entity. Followers of the Realmadrid Foundation on Facebook have access to information, images and videos of the events organized by the institution. Exclusive articles and information that are unique to this social network are available to visitors of the page, such as momentous photos, posters of historic matches and select news.

This year, the entity has worked together with the ‘laCaixa’ Foundation and FC Barcelona’s Foundation in the ‘Juntos x África’ (‘Together for Africa’) Campaign. So far, this initiative has managed to raise €150,000, which will be distributed in equal amounts between UNICEF, UNHCR and the FAO for their projects in areas affected by hunger and the humanitarian crisis in the Horn of Africa.

daridad”, en palabras del presidente del club, Florentino Pérez. La definición es del todo acertada porque en este encuentro se dan cita quienes más contribuyen a las causas sociales desde el ámbito deportivo. La labor de la Fundación Realmadrid y las compli-cidades que ésta genera son referentes en España.

The Realmadrid Foundation’s Gala Dinner, the main annual event on the Foundation’s calendar, is the “Champions League of

Solidarity” in the words of the club’s Chairman, Florentino Pérez. This definition is spot-on because the event is attended by the most significant contributors to social causes in the world of sport. The work of the Realmadrid Foundation and its supporters is a benchmark throughout Spain.

This year, the Realmadrid Foundation’s Champions League of Solidarity was once again attended by sporting personalities, politicians and socialites, all committed to the values and visions of the club. The gala dinner was held on 9 March 2012 at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos convention center in the Campo de las Naciones district in Madrid.

The 2012 Alma Awards recognized the social commitment of the tenor Plácido Domingo, who was given the extraordinary award. The South African Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Salesian Missions was given the International Cooperation Award. Other awards were granted to UNICEF for its “Donate 1 Day” campaign (Solidarity Award) and the Emergency Military Unit of the Spanish Armed Forces, who received the Collaboration with National Projects Award.

Corazón Classic Match: ‘África en el Alma’ Corazón Classic Match: ‘Africa in our Soul’

Pocas veces un partido de fútbol inspira tantos sentimientos solidarios y refleja tan bien el compromiso social de un club y de sus seguidores. Un año más, el estadio Santiago Bernabéu se volcó con el Corazón Classic Match, partido solidario que llega ya a su

tercera edición. Jugaron los veteranos del Real Madrid y del Manchester United. Lo de menos era el resultado –3 a 2 a favor de los madridistas–, porque lo importante era el compromiso con las iniciativas educativas de la Fundación Realmadrid en África. Como en la anterior edi-ción de este partido, en 2011, los ingresos de taquilla se han destinado al Proyecto África. Esta edición del Corazón Classic Match llevó por título ‘África en el Alma’.

Tras el éxito cosechado en las dos ediciones anteriores, ante AC Milan y Bayern de Múnich, la Fundación Realmadrid invitó al estadio a otro titán del fútbol europeo. Se trataba del Man-chester United, el club más histórico de Inglaterra con 19 ligas. Los aficionados blancos, que llenaron el estadio, pudieron disfrutar del juego de futbolistas legendarios para el club como Zidane, Figo, Roberto Carlos, Redondo y Butragueño. Sobre el césped se puedo apreciar el arte con la pelota de dos Balones de Oro (los legendarios Zidane y Figo) y de un gran número de campeones de Europa. Los veteranos del Real Madrid que marcaron gol fueron Morientes, Figo y Redondo. En el lado inglés, los anotadores fueron Lee Sharpe y Sheringham.

Few football matches inspire so much charitable feeling and reflect the social commitment of a football club and its followers so well. For yet another year, the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium threw itself into the Corazón Classic Match, the third charity match of its kind. The

teams were made up of Real Madrid and Manchester United veteran players. The least important element of the game was the result (3-2 to Real Madrid) and more importance was given to commitment towards the educational initiatives of the Realmadrid Foundation in Africa. As with the last Corazón Classic Match, held in 2011, ticket office sales went towards the Foundation’s Project Africa. This Corazón Classic Match was entitled Africa in our Soul.

Following the success of the two previous matches of its kind played against AC Milan and Bayern Munich, this time the Realmadrid Foundation secured another titan of European football as opposition. The match was played against Manchester United, England’s most successful football team with 19 league titles. The Real Madrid fans that filled the stadium were able to enjoy a match played by historic players such as Zidane, Figo, Roberto Carlos, Redondo and Butragueño. The ball skills of two players awarded the Ballon d’Or (Zidane and Figo) and many European champions were witnessed on the pitch. The Real Madrid veterans who scored goals were Morientes, Figo and Redondo, whilst the English team’s goals were scored by Lee Sharpe and Sheringham.

‘El deporte inclusivo trasciende fronteras’

Una de las causas sociales en las que la Fundación Realmadrid pone más empeño es el deporte inclusivo, que

fomenta que los niños con y sin discapaci-dad practiquen deporte juntos. Se trata de una forma de entender la práctica deportiva en absoluta consonancia con los valores del club, porque siempre hemos defendido que a través del deporte se mitigan las diferen-cias –sean éstas las que sean–, se logra una mayor integración social y se dan oportuni-dades para el crecimiento personal.

Por todas estas razones era tan especial la edición del Foro Luis de Carlos dedicada al deporte inclusivo. El acto se celebró el 17 de octubre de 2011, en el marco de la II Se-mana del Deporte Inclusivo, con el título ’El deporte inclusivo trasciende fronteras’. La Fundación Realmadrid es socio promotor de la Alianza Estratégica por el Deporte Inclu-sivo 2010-2015, iniciativa impulsada por la Fundación Sanitas que persigue que todos los niños puedan hacer deporte, sin impor-tar sus limitaciones. El encuentro, que contó con la colaboración de la Fundación Sani-

‘Inclusive Sport Crosses Borders’

One of the social causes that receive most of the Realmadrid Foundation’s attention is that of Inclusive Sport, an

initiative that encourages children with or without disabilities to play sport together. The idea is that sport is understood in line with Real Madrid’s values, since the club has always maintained that the differences that exist between human beings, whatever they may be, are mitigated through sport. This leads to greater social inclusion and provides opportunities for personal development. All of the above reasons made the Luis de Carlos Forum dedicated to Inclusive Sport particularly special. The meeting was held on 17 October 2011 as part of the second Inclusive Sports Week and carried the title ‘Inclusive Sport Crosses Borders’. The Realmadrid Foundation is the social representative of the Strategic Alliance for Inclusive Sport 2010-2015, an initiative propelled by the Sanitas Foundation with the goal that all children should be able to play sport whatever their limitations may be. The meeting, which was supported by the Sanitas Foundation, was chaired by journalist

El 7 de marzo de 2012 se celebró una nueva edición del Foro Luis de Carlos. En esta ocasión el encuentro puso el

foco en la afición madridista y en los senti-mientos y valores que caracterizan a los se-guidores de nuestro club. El acto, que tuvo lugar en el Hotel Villa Magna, de Madrid, contó con la participación del ex jugador

Also participating was the Executive Director of the Spanish Committee of Representatives of Persons with Disabilities, Pilar Villarino. The second Inclusive Sports Week also welcomed a basketball exhibition in which veterans of Real Madrid participated.

Another Luis de Carlos Forum was held on 7 March 2012 at the Villa Magna Hotel in Madrid. This time,

the meeting was centered on the club’s fans and on the feelings and values that characterize its supporters. Taking part in the forum was former Real Madrid basketball player, Fernando Romay, former Real Madrid

El IV Torneo de Pádel Solidario, que or-ganizó Grupo Pádel en octubre de 2011, dedicó sus beneficios a las es-

cuelas deportivas de integración para niños con capacidades diferentes de la Funda-ción Realmadrid. El campeonato benéfico tuvo lugar en el Club de Campo y Villa de Madrid.

Charity Padel Tournament

The fourth Charity Padel Tournament, which was organized by Grupo Pádel in October 2011, donated its

proceedings to the Foundation’s sports schools for the social integration of children with different capabilities. The charity championship took place at the Club de Campo y Villa in Madrid.

III Torneo de Integración

Por tercer año consecutivo, la Fundación Realmadrid, en colaboración con Endesa, celebró en la Ciudad Real Madrid el Tor-

neo de Integración, un triangular que tiene como objetivo incentivar y promover el de-porte entre los jóvenes más desfavorecidos de Chile y Perú. El Infantil B de la cantera blanca venció por 1-0 al campeón de la Copa Chilec-tra y por 2-0 a una selección de la escuela so-ciodeportiva Martin Luther King, de Perú.

3rd Tournament for Integration

For the third year running, the Realmadrid Foundation, in collaboration with Endesa, celebrated the 3rd Tournament for

Integration (“III Torneo de Integración”) at the Ciudad Deportiva. The sporting event consisted of a three-way tournament aimed at encouraging and promoting sport amongst the most disadvantaged young people in Chile and Peru. El Torneo de Golf Solidario celebró su tercera edición el 11 de junio de 2012, en el Campo de Golf Retamares de Al-

gete. Los beneficios del torneo se destinan a la escuela adaptada de baloncesto de Maja-dahonda, que forma a jóvenes con discapa-cidad. El vencedor de esta competición fue la Asociación de Veteranos del Real Madrid.

Torneo de Golf Solidario Fundación Realmadrid-Samsung

The third Charity Golf Tournament organized by the Foundation was held on 11 June 2012 at the Retamares Golf

Course in Algete. The proceedings from the tournament will go towards a basketball school in Majadahonda that will train children with disabilities. The tournament was won by the Real Madrid veterans association, “Asociación de Veteranos del Real Madrid”.

El Palacio de Deportes de Madrid aco-gió el ‘Partido x la ilusión’ el pasado 28 de diciembre de 2011. El partido soli-

dario, convocado por el capitán y portero del Real Madrid, Iker Casillas, reunió en el campo de juego a artistas, deportistas en activo y ex futbolistas. Los fondos recauda-dos beneficiaron a dos proyectos contra el paro juvenil.

Match for Hope

Madrid’s Palacio de Deportes hosted the Partido x la ilusión on 28 December 2011. The charity

match, which was arranged by Real Madrid’s Captain and Goalkeeper Iker Casillas, brought together artists, sports players and ex-footballers on the pitch. The proceedings of the match went towards two projects that fight youth unemployment.

Mercadillo benéfico Chopard Chopard Charity Flea Market

El palco de honor del estadio Santiago Bernabéu acogió los pasados 14 y 15 de noviem-bre de 2011 un mercadillo benéfico, que concluyó con la subasta de auténticos tesoros: el reloj Chopard Mille Miglia, edición especial Real Madrid, con un estuche único firma-

do por el primer equipo y por Alfredo Di Stéfano; una botella de champán Perrier Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc des Blancs y las botas de fútbol con la firma de Cristiano Ronaldo. Los ingresos de la puja beneficiaron a las Escuelas Unidas de Fútbol para la Paz ubicadas en Beit Sahour, población de Israel bajo la administración de la Autoridad Nacional Palestina.

A charity flea market was held in the royal box of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium on 14 and 15 November 2011. The event ended with an auction of authentic treasures: a special Real Madrid edition Chopard Mille Miglia watch with a unique case signed

by the first team and Alfredo Di Stéfano, a bottle of Perrier Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc des Blancs champagne and some Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly III CR football boots, signed by Cristiano Ronaldo. The proceedings of the auction were donated to the United Football Schools for Peace (“Escuelas Unidas de Fútbol para la Paz”) in Beit Sahour, a town under the administration of the Palestinian National Authority.

II Jornadas Deporte y Desarrollo Fundación Realmadrid-AECIDII Sport and Development Conference

Los días 21 y 22 de junio de 2012 se ce-lebraron las II Jornadas Deporte y De-sarrollo, organizadas por la Fundación

Realmadrid y la Agencia Española de Coo-peración Internacional (AECID). Estas jorna-das, que tuvieron lugar en la sala de prensa del estadio Santiago Bernabéu, consisten en ponencias y mesas redondas a cargo de importantes personalidades y ONG del mundo de la cultura y de la cooperación a nivel mundial.

Se organizaron mesas redondas sobre De-porte para una cultura de paz y convivencia, Deporte para la integración social, Deporte e igualdad de género y Alianzas estratégicas en las escuelas sociodeportivas.

Inauguraron esta cita el presidente del Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez y el ministro de Educación, Cultura y Deporte, José Ignacio Wert. También presidieron el acto de inau-guración Laura López de Cerain, secretaria general de la AECID, y Enrique Sánchez, vice-presidente ejecutivo de la Fundación Real-madrid.

The II Sport and Development Conference took place on 21 and 22 June, 2012, under the organization of the Realmadrid

Foundation and the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation (AECID). These activities, which were set in the press room of the Santiago Bernabéu football stadium, were communications and round tables held by important worldwide dignitaries and NGO’s of the culture and cooperation field.

Round tables were organized about Sport for a peaceful coexistence culture, Sport for social integration, Sport and gender equality and Strategic Alliances in social sports schools.

The meeting was opened by José Ignacio Wert, Minister of Education, Culture and Sport, and Florentino Pérez, the Chairman of Real Madrid. The opening ceremony was also chaired by Laura López de Cerain, AECID general secretary; and Enrique Sánchez, Real Madrid Foundation’s executive vice-chairman.

The president of Real Madrid stressed the importance of collaborating with AECID. “Our wish and goal is to increase activities in Spain and the rest of the world, and is therefore essential to have the support of AECID. They help us to work harder for those in need. We have worked together on many solidarity projects and we thank them for their help”. The Minister of Education, Culture and Sport was very satisfied with these activities:

La gala solidaria ‘Haití es Real’ se celebró sobre el césped del estadio Santiago Bernabéu el 5 de julio de 2011. El acto consistió en una cena y una subasta, que recaudó fondos para reconstruir el colegio haitiano San Gerardo, destruido por el terremoto de enero

de 2010. El futuro de esta nación caribeña pasa por la educación de los más jóvenes, de ahí la importancia de dar un impulso a su sistema escolar. El acto contó con la colaboración de la Fundación Chocrón Macías. En la gala estuvo presente la embajadora de Haití en España, Yolette Azor-Charles; el presidente de la Fundación Chocrón Macías, Moisés Chocrón; y el pre-sidente de la Fundación Acoger y Compartir, José Miguel de Haro.
